Here doesn't come the sun- a MMP

Didn’t get near done what I needed to. My fault for taking a nap.
Getting ready to head for the armpit on Saturday.
My mother put in for senior housing but it’s going to be at least a 5 month wait so she is chilling a bit about getting her house cleaned out.
Now she doesn’t want me to take the bedroom set because my niece wants it. I don’t need it so whatever. I knew this crap was going to happen, she gets all upset, creates an uproar and then everything gets changed anyway.

I don’t know what I am having for dinner yet.

Tonight is Project Runway night. I don’t know why I bother anymore but I still do.

Monday is a federal holiday here in the USofA. Columbus Day to be exact. Thus I will have a three day weekend. WOOHOO!!! That also explains why the usual Moanday mornin’ [del]coma[/del] conference call was postponed until Tuesday.

I think it’s time to strip down to a robe and slippers, then veg.

MWAH!

So MOOOOOOM is sittin’ around FairyChatEstate in just her robe and slippers. I wonder if she’ll flash FCD when he walks by.

And on that note we shall retire to the bedroom to watch teevee etc until sleepy time.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

A den on iniquity!

Oh, the shame!

Do I get Monday off?

How you doin’?

The new gig has me so busy I have no time to cruise the SDMB during office hours, which is the only proper way to do it. Still active on FB, though. I’m also in the middle of a developing tale of how my back yahd has become a for real hazmat site. Should make a good yarn.

I believe it is the youngest son who asks, “How is today different from all other days?”

Yessss! Oh, I mean, ummmm, how unfortunate. :dubious:
Couldn’t buy a beer tonight; forgot I took $ from my wallet & put them in my pants pocket last night. Luckily someone bought one for me. Some fairly new restaurant came by with samples & coupons for 10% off. They had frozen blueberry pops which were vile & unfinishable. In talking to someone else, they said they went there for brekie one morning & it’s an all-natural/organic restaurant & was pretty lousy for his meal. So in other words, their samples failed. :smack:

Got home to a somewhat scary scene; all the lights were out, as they should be, but I could see the flicker from the TV being on. As the doors were locked & nothing appears missing soI guess I pressed the <Mute> button (top right of remote) instead of <Power> (Top left of remote) & had it on all day but didn’t realize because there was no sound.

Dinner will be a nom-nom-nomlet (as soon as it’s done cooking). ETA: I need to buy more Tabasco sauce.

Home after my 14 hour day plus two hours of commute time. I is tired. The Fall Fest is over and was a great success. We estimate around 800 people. It was so hot. I kept taking the golf cart and running back to my office to cool off every once in a while. In the morning I still have to undecorate the hayride wagon and finish storing all the Halloween stuff. I already told my boss I am doing a short day tomorrow as I do not get paid overtime. Comp time is not needed. So, I will have a 3 1/2 day weekend. Thanks You Chris Columbus!

I came home and cooked me up some sausage and eggs. Love breakfast for dinner sometimes.

I am going to go to bed with Ben X 2 in the hopes I don’t wake up sneezing again. Damn sinuses are about to drive me stark raving mad.

So the Canes lost. But at least hockey is back.

TVCTPMO had an on-the-job division today. I’m not upset with the cashier who called out sick (I just hope she feels better SOON), the customers were halfway sane (there were just SO MANY of them!), but I really could have done without the cashier who was in quite a mood on arrival, then locked himself out of his register (too many failed logins), then just bailed out. Yeah, OK, it’s going to be a day or two before we can get him unlocked, since emails to headquarters are involved, but he still could have helped in other parts of the store. The reported marijuana odor from a supply closet, in a drug-free workplace, was also not a good thing.

I wanted it to rain today. I asked my cats to make bread (they did… I’m opening a bakery from the amount of kneading they did), I thought about making sun-tea (but … I don’t drink much real tea anymore and mint tea needs heat vs sun)… and I did a half-hearted rain dance to some David Bowie youtube music while seated in my pc chair.

No rain. It’s dry… other than early morning river fog. Which is good for farmers but sucks for lazy gardeners and wild mushroom hunters. We have delicious 60-70F+ heat the week before and next week. Some mushrooms are popping… but more would if we got some rain.

Plus, I don’t want to have to stretch the hose back to my various raised gardens because it was moved to mow the yard. stomps feet I want the lines that are now obsolete from Mistermage’s salsa gardens installed in my gardens. They (him and his BFF) have nicer ones. Timed ones, even.

My hands are cold :frowning:

Of course I couldn’t sleep in on my day off! And of course Higgs is now sleeping, the little brat. But I get some me-time on the 'puter, so there’s that.

My mom is on the homeward bound portion of her trip - they’ll be in the Azores tomorrow, then 6 days across the Atlantic to Miami, and on the 19th, they arrive in Tampa and disembark. From the looks of the bridge cam, it’s raining in her little part of the ocean today. Here, we’re supposed to have sun during the day, than rain tonight. I’m thinking it’s a good day to wash some afghans.

I’ve got about 50 pages to go in the latest book, then I’ll pick something out for next week, tho <fingers crossed> I might not need it. We shall see. Our truck is with our car guys getting the cruise control installed. Next month, **FCD **needs to drive it to FL to pick up a bandsaw from his dad. That’s a long trip without cruise. I know we always used to drive with only our foot to control our speed, but one gets spoiled, doesn’t one?

Beyond that, we shall see what my 4-day weekend brings. Relaxation, I’m hoping…

Happy Firday!

Up, caffeinated, off to work.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis a very pleasant 67 degrees Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 85 and sunny. I closed all da cave windows yestiddy and have the a/c on. It had gotten warmish durin’ the day. Oh well, I did so enjoy the week of open windows.

OK, that’s all I got for now. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. Should be a not too difficult day plus 'tis Firday and a three day weekend.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Up and at 'em early. I again woke up sneezing so have had my dose of allergy pills. I have a short day today. Thank God it’s Firday!

Happy Firday!

It’s a cloudy 61 degrees out there.

Time to get up, get some breakfast and go to irk.

Wait, wait, is that legal in Georgia??:dubious::smiley:

Firday finally, with a 3-day weekend coming up. Rain is in the forecast so my youth soccer refereeing duties may depend on where and when it shows up.

FCM, I love cruises but spending 4-5 days crossing the ocean without anywhere to land is a bit of a reach. I like visiting ports. My goal for 2017 is to back-to-back cruises to the Baltic (Copenhagen, Stockhold, St. Petersburg, etc) with one in the Med (Spain and Italy). Still, hope your mom had fun.

Nava: cold hands, warm heart (or something like that). Seriously, that could have something to do with blood flow, so keep an eye on it.

**MetalMouse **- her cruise was Baltic/British Isles/Transatlantic. I expect after all the ports they visited over the last 3 weeks, they’ll enjoy vegging - bear in mind, my mom is 81 and her roomie is 85 - even active little old ladies appreciate a break! I don’t know Anna that well, but I know my mom is just as happy to sit by the pool and read all day, plus she likes doing trivia contests and wine tastings, and just walking around looking. She’s not into gambling, but she’ll walk thru the casino and look around. I tell ya, after my weeks of doing nothing at work, I kinda envy her leisure time - at least she’ll have comfy seating!

We went out for breakfast, then to Lowe’s for some stuff **FCD **needed to finish setting up his machine. I’ve got 3 afghans in the washer - the cat peed on one, and the other 2 just smell doggy, so they’ll spend some hours on the lines once they’re washed. I’ve got 2 more that’ll go in next.

Beyond that, I may just read today, apart from piddly stuff like loading the dishwasher. Got a chickie to rotiss for supper, so there’s that. But mostly, today will be about chillage.
