This thread has been linked to 3 times in the past day or so. Twice that I have seen and taking Sublight’s word for it. I linked to it once myself. It is an interesting reference point in the debate about language and bigotry and what is aacceptable and what is not. I referenced it as part of a list of 5 threads as a sort of a guide to understanding the history of these arguments. A new member was being attacked for using the word"gay" in a derogatory fashion. It is an engaging thread, and I could see why someone may want to add their 2 cents after reading it.
Is there an age date limit for when it is reasonable to bump a thread or best to start a new one? I msyelf search the archives from time to time and find threads I missed the first time which I might like to throw in a word or two. Is that rude board ettiquette? Or is it the particular subject here what makes it a bad idea in the minds of some?

IIRC, the most authoritative opinion was to start a new thread, with a link to the old one, if the original was more than 6 months old. And if the original was locked, email a mod/admin.
