flytrap, you must have driven in west Texas if you didn’t see trees.
butters, make sure thatyou get some Texas style barbecue while you’re there. The brisket at Goode and Co. Is pretty good, but the locals can point you someplace where the chairs don’t match but the cue rocks.
You can wear a hairy hat when you cook on any range, grill or campfire as long as you remember to wear an apron
when you fry bacon.
MOOOOOOM don’t be silly. I was not cookin’ when I posted. Actually I do not wear a horned helmet while cookin, though I might if I were to make hasenpfeffer.
Sorry your Moanday was so irritating moooom, but all’s well that ends well… PS Dishwasher FTW.
** PB **& I used his B-day tickets to go see Cincinnati & Tampa Bay . The escalators were borken & we were up in the nosebleed seats. I almost died. ( Serious. I think the beer dude saved my life. I offered him Money to stick my head in the ice bucket, so instead he hands me this enormous chuck of ice to cool off with. God bless 'im.)
Anyway, we did have fun, even if we had to leave at halftime to avoid the rush & get decent sleep before irk. Besides which the Bengals were getting tromped.
Irk was irksome, but at least I am over my hump day.
Indian chicken Helper for supper… time to relax!
If something happens to the Old Wench this week I would be on that one like a shot! Even down in Feyette-nam. I could learn to like banjo music if I really have to.
No but an apron saying “Cooking drives me BERSERK!!!” would be appropriate.
Well, my sweetie, generous soul that he is, shared his germy germs with me, and I’ve now got his crud. My throat feels raw, I have a nasty dry cough, my nose is drippy, and periodically, my eyes water something awful. So I see a wonderful day ahead. Not.
I was freezing when I went to bed - wearing a sleep shirt, covered in a sheet, a blanket, and an afghan - and it was 75° in the house! I woke at least 3 times during the night to grope my way to the bathroom - I didn’t think I’d had that much to drink, but I guess I did, or my bladder shrunk. Either way, not a restful night. I may go back to bed for a bit.
Fridge guy passed, so I offered it to the other couple who asked about it - they’re coming Firday morning. If they don’t make it, the fridge will be in the dump on Firday afternoon. End of drama. And speaking of the fridge - no leakage, so the new water connection is good. Yay. At least there’s that.
Happy Wednesday. Pardon me while I curl up on the corner and suffer…
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, purtified, and caffeinated, so no YAWN. 'Tis 67 (well BRRRRR!) Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 91 and sunny for the day. We have a “cool front”.
As soon as OYKW emerges from the bedroom we’re goin’ to Pearly’s for brekkie. YUM! He announced last night he has a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for sausage gravy and bizkits. He’s buyin’, so I’m eatin’!
{{{MOOOOOOM}}} feel better soonest!
OK, I hear rumblin’s from the bedroom. This means OYKW is officially purtified and ready to go. YAY!
Hope you get feeling better, FCM. The crud (which is what I call any bug that keeps me within a room’s distance from the toilet) is no fun.
swampy, in regards to cooking with a Horned helmet, I think that is only acceptable if you’re preparing Scandinavian delicacies such as lutefish…
As to the meat of the week’s review, I think my dishwasher has heard everyone here; on the drying cycle last evening I got a very strong electric/ozone smell, which seems to indicate (to my utterly un-mechanical mind) that things are becoming unraveled in the innards. Well, looks like I’m browsing the stores this weekend.
Just looking to get through hump day. Forgot, for the third week in a row, to take the hamburger out of the freezer before I left for work. Have to call an audible for the evening repast.
Fortunately, my crud doesn’t seem to have any gastrointestinal effects. I probably just jinxed myself. Dammit.
While I’m feeling human, I’m going to take a few minutes to plant some bulbs my mom gave me. Then maybe I’ll empty the dishwasher of the dishes I washed yesterday. By then, I should be worn out and ready for a break.
All righty then - one clump of daylilies and about a dozen amaryllis bulbs planted. I’ve got the sprinkler going in the back, since my impatiens looked sad, and I’ll move it around to the front in a bit.
Can’t believe how hot I feel, considering how cool it is outside - could I have a fever??
I woke up too early - damn bladder - tried to go back to sleep, couldn’t go back to sleep, then fell asleep and slept through the alarm.
I was late for irk but didn’t get a nasty email so I’m cool.
The kitchen needs a good cleaning so that is on the agenda for today. Also, Sah-son has three assignments due today and I told him I’d help him.
