Micah couldn’t have gotten all that money from one ATM at a convenience store. I got the impression he had been going all over town to different machines, and that’s why he got home so late. I’m not sure if that increases or decreases the chances he’d get caught.
Loved Hiro’s “GULP” and “This is the way we roll”. I also got a giggle out of Invisible Man’s “Fantastic!”
I think Heroes as a stronger first seasn than LOST had. It more straight forward, without lacking the mystery.
Prison Break seems to be losing momentum though. I haven’t seen a new thread this week, even though Haywire’s back.
On edit: Why did I bring LOST into the equation? I read your post, couldn’t make sense of it, because I read “24” as “LOST”.
Why are Mondays so damn crowded. If I were a network PD, I’d exploit a less obvious time slot.
Anything’s possible, but the fact that Claire’s mother is some kind of firestarter and Claire was supposedly to have died in a fire leads me to think differently. AED stated to someone that things got out of hand with Claire’s parents and they died, didn’t he? Maybe AED was trying to apprehend them and Meredith started the fire while attempting to defend herself and her family. She thought Claire perished in the fire because she didn’t know about her ability. AED finds this child in the wreckage somehow and one thing leads to another.
Not at all, because the Haitian never mindwiped her. She’s pretending that she can’t remember and not doing the best job of it which incidentally I love because it’s nice to see a super-powered teenager who isn’t “super powers = infallability.” She’s trying to be careful not to tip off AED that she remembers. And I loved loved loved that she went out and got the manatee book to bolster her cover story. That was such a great touch.

I honestly can’t remember- what references towards Zach’s sexuality has the series actually shown us? I remember a popular girl making some sort of insinuation towards him being gay, but that’s hardly indicative- “fag” and the like are common insults for people who just don’t fit in. The best way to unnerve a straight teenager is to say he’s gay- I certainly heard it often enough when I was a lad, and I’m so straight it’s boring.
They clearly showed us that he was an outsider, but as far as I can remember, the best indication that he was gay was found outside the series- his MySpace profile said he was “undecided”.
It seems to me that the creators were deliberately leaving it vague.
Personally, it wouldn’t bother me at all if he turned out to be gay- but equally, it doesn’t bother me if they’re now saying he’s straight. The Human Genome Project being the explanation for how Mohinder’s dad found all the Heroes bugs me much, much more.
If Micah can hack into an ATM and make it dispense all the money it has, why the hell wouldn’t he be able to wipe the camera as well? He seems able to tinker with any piece of gadget, not just electronics, so the only things they’d be able to get on him would be witness testimony and possibly fingerprints.
Good grief, you are absolutely correct in this observation fellow. Is akin to letting the enemy know you captured one of their Enigma machines just so you can exclaim “Oh snap!”
His sexuality never occurred to me until I read it here. What someone may or may not have intended in meaningless if it never made to tape. I would be perfectly happy if they didn’t mention it either way. I just don’t care.
They were talking about who likes who or something and he said “You don’t know the half of it” and quite vehemently denied liking Claire, but not in the I like you but am over-denying it way. That’s inconclusive, but at the time one valid interpretation was that he was gay.
FWIW, didn’t a couple of Claire’s cheerleader friends call him gay in different scenes, although he usually just rolled his eyes at them neither confirming or denying at the time. Maybe this is how the “rumor” got started? Whatever. Maybe he’s just curious, like we all are.

I agree. I’ve always wondered why he’s so sure of himself around supers. It could be he’s just used to them, or it could Haitian, or he’s got some other ace up his sleeve. OTOH, he’s been near Peter and he’s been near Sylar and neither had picked anything up from him. OTOOH, Haitian was always around. Hm.
I got the impression earlier in the show the reason AED started researching people with powers was because he was the man on the scene when Claire’s parents’ powers went nutso. I can’t point to any specific bit of dialogue but I always felt the show was telling us Claire is the offspring of super powered parents, and not just a parent.
However, I also now get the feeling the writers have changed direction on a few things since the show premiered. From what I remember, they hadn’t finished filming the whole season when it first started and when the show became a hit they made some changes for the end of the season. Were Eccleston and Takei supposed to join the cast originally?
So who knows what the details of her biological parents are now.
I originally doubted Zach would turn out gay. Too daring. Then I found out he was and was impressed. Now I’m disappointed. Especially now we’ve learned Claire is only 15. When the heck did that happen? I could have sworn these kids were seniors in high school and getting ready to graduate or something. So now we get teenaged romance? How boring. I much preferred super girl with gay sidekick.
I’m intrigued with the idea of there being another gay character though. I wonder who? Definitely not Hiro and Ando. Hiro loved Charlie and Ando watches Niki’s porn site.
My vote would be Peter. He just seems gay. Never gonna happen though. He loves Simone and he’s central to the show.
Sylar could be gay. Why not? Oh, we can’t have the bad guy be gay.
I’m guessing they’ll introduce a new disposable character sometime later. Maybe season five.
After the other cheerleader accused Zach of being gay and Claire and Zach were in Claire’s bedroom she said something about that not making a difference and Zach said something like “that doesn’t bother me, I’m comfortable with who I am.” It wasn’t a confirmation but he wasn’t denying anything either. I think if I were a straight teenaged boy sitting in the bedroom with my hot cheerleader best friend I’d eagerly confirm my heterosexuality. Then again, maybe I wouldn’t. “She totally digs having a gay best friend. Let’s snuggle!”
Yeah, I love all the characters on this show but these three are really straining it. I’m trying sooo hard to get into this little super family. I meant to ask last week, how did DL get out of all his criminal charges? He gave the money back to Linderman so every thing’s cool there but what about breaking out of prison? Does Linderman own the entire criminal justice system around Las Vegas? And DL can phase his clothes, right? C’mon DL. Try a little harder and phase Niki out of jail. You can do it. Oh wait, we have to let Oprah work with her on this Jessica problem.
When AED was talking to the doctor working on Sylar, did he say "our instructions are to . . . " or "your instructions are to . . "? I thought I heard him say “our instructions” which would indicate there is someone else running things. I supposed the obvious choice would be Linderman.
He said “our instructions.” He’s mentioned his boss(es) before, too. When Eden offered to tell Sylar to kill himself, he said something like “that hasn’t been authorized.”
I don’t know if he said it then I would have to go look but he definately said he is not the big boss a couple of times. It was not his decision to keep Sylar alive and he said so at least a couple of times.

I don’t see the reason for all the hate. I don’t find them the most compelling characters but not the least either. That would be schlubman, I mean Parkman. As to your questions. Niki copped to all the serious charges such as mass-murder. That would leave DL escaping from jail where he was for crimes he didn’t commit. That wouldn’t be too hard to smooth over with Linderman’s money and influence. They got the killer. Keeping an otherwise innocent single father in jail wouldn’t look good. Also Niki doesn’t want to get out. She is afraid of what she could do to her family as Jessica. Thats why she gave up in the first place.
