Attempting to rape her.
Another wild theory: Hiro says Peter will have a scar… his appearance could be radically different in the future. Maybe he was the guy who tried to take the little girl from the police? It could be future Peter, who constiports back to try to save the little girl? He can mimic powers, so that’s how he used telekenesis on the lady detective. Notice he doesn’t actually kill anyone.
Also, Cheerbleeder’s QB friend is called McRapesalot on other boards. I like that more than Q-R.
We don’t really know one way or the other. Her friend thought the QB raped her. What we saw on TV didn’t look like the QB was successful, but they can only show so much on TV. And if she were raped postmortem, she probably would notice the evidence before she healed herself.
I like this as a plot advancement, though I’m totally unsure if this is where the writers are going.
In this kind of story, killing someone intentionally is the sort of thing a heroine doesn’t come back from. If the quarterback dies in the crash, Clair is basically a supervillian from that point onwards.
On the other hand, if he turns out to be supertough and superstrong, survives the crash easily and rips the roof off the car to extricate himself, he remains the villian and she has merely revealed her first nemesis. That she intended to kill him is somehow easily forgotten in the story to follow.
my take is that he thought he killed her- hence turning pale and hiding when he saw her in the hallway
In spite of what she said in the interview - and it may have been intentional to throw us off, I like the thoery that Niki’s dopple is the missing gangster hubby (“never touch ***our * ** son”). except that Niki didn’t go back to bang Nathan - Dopple did. - so Dopple is gay? - and the banging was to bring Nathan down at Linderman’s request because if that were the case then henchman wouldn;t have cornered “Niki” in the elevator. But the hotel survaillance tapes will be crucial. My guess - when those two particular time stamps are played back, it won’t be Niki on film
***wasn’t * ** :smack: so much for preview
You know who the Murse reminds me of? Remember that dog that used to follow Spike around in the cartoons? Hopping over him as they walked down the road and sucking up to him “You’re so big and strong!”
Murse is like that in that he is a mopey wimp who clings to his brother AND in that he is reliant on a more dominant figure (other mutants) to get his powers.
Not necessarily. She could regret it, resolve never to do it again, etc. She’d be a “dark hero” or a “tormented soul”, IMO, but only a supervillain if she continues on that path.
Is she a supervillain if the QB is not super but survives the crash?
Did anyone else think that Captain Candidate was acting a little extra-dumb in this episode?
First he gets huffy at the brother about whom he’s told two very public and potentially embarrassing lies–lies he didn’t even warn his brother about. I understand that he’s very focused on doing whatever it takes to win, but geez, if you can’t figure out how your brother might react to that, how can you figure out what the voters will think?
And maybe I’m just being naive about the sex life of politicians, but I would think that it would raise a red flag that he just happens to find this hot, lonely blonde in Vegas right after hearing that a notorious gangster can’t meet him right now after all. Especially because I can imagine their dinner conversation:
Nathan: So, you said you’re here for a conference. Where are you from?
Niki: Um…Omaha.
Nathan: Las Vegas must be quite a change for you.
Nike: Yeah, it is. But you know, I love living in Iowa.
This is, of course, assuming that he talks about anything but himself through most of the evening.
What if Mohinder’s dad is Syler?
I think she would just be a PRAGMATIC hero if she killed the guy. A little vigilante, maybe. But the guy is a serial rapist/guy who dumps nakes bodies in the river.
A little vigilante justice is a good thing.
After all, after a certain point, Batman is morally responsible for every murder the Joker commits.
I am not a big fan of the theory that the Doppelbanger is Niki’s ex. But if that’s the case and it was he who was banging Captain Congress then it certainly brings a new level of meaning to his initials.
Henchman cornered Niki in the elevator because she refused to bang Captain Congress. She was all “I want to but I can’t” and was leaving the hotel.
Well I guess I can’t convince you otherwise. Even though schizophrenics often use “our” or “us”, that term could be interpreted either way. We’ll just have to watch to see.
That’s an interesting idea, but it seems unlikely. We heard both their voices on the professor’s answering machine. They didn’t sound alike at all.
Oh, and we now know more about the random brunette who was following the cheerleader and qb around was. Disposable Expository Backstory Girl.
Clearly Sylar is someone we have met or WILL meet. Otherwise why shroud him in darkness?
Suspects
DL- Possible
BadDad- Something tells me it isn’t him. Too obvious.
BadDad’s Underling- Ditto.
Professor’s Dad- I think he is alive but not Sylar.
QB Rapist- I think he is just a MacGuffin.
Artist/Murse Girlfriend- She clearly has a role to play.
Hiro’s Sidekick- No? Me either.
Dopplebanger- She seems to have a girlie voice.
Professor’s Wacky Neighbor- My prediction.
The audience and the coroner know the QB stripped her and dumped her in the river, but the Cheerbleeder doesn’t. She knows he attempted to rape her and killed her in the process – and that he has raped other girls. Here’s hoping death becomes him.
I want to see more from the ThoughtPolice and the MindMute. Why doesn’t this bald black guy talk? Can the MindMute negate powers, or is he limited to wiping people’s memories – in which case it’s obvious he’s a handy person to have around in a nefarious organization.
it’s page 36 of Political Campaigning for Dummies: make sure you commit one act that will ruin your career.
I thought it made sense, actually. When Mohinder approached CC, he got brushed off and treated like a lunatic. Then Peter showed up, sounding every bit as much a lunatic and more. I think that made Mohinder take a step back and realize how nutty the whole thing sounds.
Nitpick-alert: A better example would’ve been Lincoln. Omaha, Nebraska is on the border with Iowa, therefore she could live in Council Bluffs, Iowa, but identify her hometown as Omaha. Just like someone in Fort Worth could say they’re from Dallas (or the greater Dallas Fort Worth area).
