I thought her hands were covering the most identifiably-breast parts.
Not really a spoiler, but taken from the graphic novel on the nbc website which shows what happens after the car crash:
She didn’t intend to kill him. She intended to make him think twice about raping another girl again. If you read the graphic novel, she actually saves him when the car catches fire. She wanted to scare him, not murder him.
well, everytime Hiro jumps, time changes a bit… perhaps these are signs of his tamperings…
Or there just playing us…
Well I’m sure the next time you’re drugged and kidnapped you’ll be more careful.
I’m hoping that was an important story telling point. He’s progressed further than EvilDad thought, and Evil Bald go-deep-and-clear-him-out guy is going to regret going deep in Telepa-cop’s head.
Prolly not though, but TC is gonna survive the clearing out process. I just know it!
Clearing out process?
We’re not really sure what Baldy does are we? As far as I can tell, he only seems to be blocking Matt’s ability to read minds when he’s around. No indication that this blocking is functional when he’s not present. In fact, he’s still picking up Evil Dad until Baldy ups the wattage. We don’t even know if the Grid Wipe is effective on any other powers other than Matt.
My guess is his blocking works only when he’s in close proximity, but whether or not it can work on more than one at a time is an interesting supposition.
This reminds me of Cartmen’s quote from the SP episode "Good Times With Weapons:
*Cartman: Hold on you guys. I actually have another power. I can see into the future too… but better than Kyle. *
I think part of the point of the recaps at the beginning of the episodes is that this show is NOT, unlike (for instance) Lost, constantly trying to mislead us, drop enigmatic hints, put significance in every last detail.
There was such a long debate last week about how Claire looked to one side before saying “oh my God”. It meant nothing. In this show, things are generally what they appear to be. Which is fine. It’s nice to not have 8,000 leftover enigmas from episode 1 that we’re still speculating about.
The one thing I really don’t like is the stupid new agey voiceovers about evolution. Gag me.
I could personally do without the recap voiceover, but I can see their purpose. However, I absolutely hate the five-pack-a-day smoker who narrates it- I’d much rather they have a more normal voiceover, or use text.
By the way, Max- looks like I’m flying out for an interview at your company on Friday!
It’s just that schizophrenia doesn’t mean split personality
Bolding mine.
I want to go on record as saying that EvilDad is not really evil, he’s just being played in a creepy way as a misdirection. Claire is adopted, and I think ED took her in to try to keep her safe, knowing what she is. He might be something like Charles Xavier, or one of Xavier’s minions.
Isn’t the voiceover being done by the guy who plays Mohinder, like he’s continuing the lecture on genetics that started the series?
That’s what I thought.
Thank You!
Mohinder’s dad is unlikely to be Sylar because we heard him answer the phone after Sylar began leaving a message. QB Rapesalot is likely the person who stripped Claire and dropped her in the river. Niki’s probably a split personality and not the secret reservoir for her alter-ego-husband.
Why? Because these are the simplest explanations. We know not everything is 100% clean from a continuity perspective, but it seems incredibly ill-advised that the writers would plant all these additional, ultra-complicated bait-&-switches when they’re juggling multiple characters and subplots simultaneously as it is. Occam’s Razor is our friend here.
The one thing that didn’t seem genuinely credible was the non-incumbent political candidate, a few weeks from his election, indiscreetly bedding down with a total stranger. Sure, the guy could’ve been horny, but he’s already been characterized as way too driven and motivated and hungry for a victory to take such an idiotic risk.
The way I see things, our Good vs. Bad crews may be more balanced than we realize:
Good
MurseMan (who seems ideally positioned to inherit the job of Leader)
PrognostiPainter
DoppleBanger
PsychCop
Hiro
Claire
Mohinder
Bad
Sylar
Horned-Rim BadDad
Bald Black Baddie
And I’m honestly tempted to put FlyBro and Pixie McFlirtyPie in the possible bad categories.
The former because he’s power hungry, over confident, and would act as a great opposing factor to his brother (how often do best friends become mortal enemies in comics?). Also, it’s a little convenient that two good guys bed down, but it makes the dynamic that much more interesting if a good guy and bad guy shagged before realizing who the other was.
And as for Pixie McFlirtyPie, well, her showing up and individual contributions are way too convenient. She “foils” the wiretap guy, has the keys to Mohinder’s dad’s place but doesn’t use them when she could’ve earlier, she “finds” the book with Sylar’s address, and is one of only two people who know about the apartment who gets cleared out. And with the fluttering eyelashes and Gee Whiz demeanor, she screams Vamp Ingenue, worming her way into Mohinder’s good graces. I don’t trust her.
Given that we’re only a few episodes in, I’m impressed with everything the show is covered without feeling like its constantly yanking my chain.
Nah, I’m not talking about that part- I actually kind of like that. I hate the “what happened last episode” narration.
I’m willing to entertain the notion he’s evil, but evil via the path of good intentions. He may honestly believe he’s helping people by ridding them of this “illness.” Sort of like how the ex-gay ministry thinks it’s helping certain people by ridding them of their keen fashion sense and fondness for musicals.
Question is, how long has he known about super-types? How long has Evil Bald Assistant been working for him? Weren’t we told these powers only recently started emerging? How do they find these guys anyway? When they find them, how do they know what their ability is? “You’re not trying to read my thoughts, are you Matt?” How’d he know?
I disagree - altho all the things we’ve actually seen (like his glasses in Papa Sheeresh’s apt or goading Mohinder the cab driver) make him appear evil or at least neutral bad; perhaps he will turn out to be good
I keep thinking about Mia Farrow when she’s onscreen.
Am I the only one who TOTALLY buys a politician making a stupid move because of sex? They seem to be addicted to the risk and the power.
What I find implausible is that a Congressional Candidate in a competitive race in the largest media hub in the world could sneak ANYWHERE late in the campaign.
Wouldn’t the reporters who were covering his campaign wonder why there was nothing on his press schedule for 24 hours?
Him flying? I can buy. Him ducking the New York Times? Not as much.
I’m not a cop, though. That’s covered in Police Training. Class #2, Day 1. Right after lunch.
I don’t think the Dopplebanger is Niki’s ex. I think Bad Dad’s henchman is her ex. We know that he killed a bunch of people and is on the run. And it makes it kind of cool that GeniusKid has two superpower parents, but then you would think GeniusKid would have powers too. I think Niki’s power is splitting in two. Maybe she splits into evil and good halves. I am most confused as to what her “power” is.
