Heroes 10/23 "Hiro's" (spoilers)

What I want to know is why Otto is giving crazy nicknames to every character on the show while at the same time on a crusade to make sure we all spell Niki correctly.

My favorite line of the episode: “Whois database. You need…unlist, maybe.”

Niki need unlist definitely.

I didn’t get DL and the windwipe guy mized up because the actor who plays DL (Leonard Roberts) used to be Forrest on Buffy, and played a disciple of Zod on Smallville. Clearly, you all needed to spend more time staring at the former WB.

I think “Hiro’s” is meant to be a plural of “Hiro.” Maybe whoever did the title graphic realized that numbers & characters take 's when pluralizing, but names don’t?

Ooh, Lisa Lackey! In the episode where she first appeared, I saw her name in the credits, & looked for her, but didn’t recognize her as Matt’s wife.

No, not really.

I hit that theory myself last night. “Evil” Dad’s behavior up to this episode was for the most part menacing, all he did to the psi-cop was check his physiology, make sure he couldn’t remember it, and then let him go. No brainwashing, no indefinite detention, just checking him out. That doesn’t make him a good guy, but I suspect he’s someone who’s trying to prevent another Syler.

And speaking of Syler, my favorite crazy theory that was handed to me this week is that Syler is actually the power absorber who learned that he can perminantly absorb powers by removing the brain, stole Hiro’s powers, and travelled back in time.

I wanna know what powers Niki’s son has. If both she and her husband are “special”, you’d think that they’d have passed on those genes to the kid.

The art is actually drawn by Tim Sale. I haven’t seen any credit to this effect, but I’m quite sure it’s his work (Billi 99 is a favorite graphic novel of mine), & I saw his buddy Jeph Loeb’s name in credits of one of the episodes.

I just wanted to pop in here and say “Oh Lord, Jesus No!” re: the kid having powers. That’s an annoying little kid - and if he goes all Superman Returns on us, I’m checking out on this show.

A friend of mine is sure it’s Tim Sale as well.

After reading this week’s comic, I’m convinced Niki’s alter did the murders that DL went away for. There’s a few possible motives for why she did it, but why she (apparently) framed DL is even more questionable given what we learn about his personality in it.

How long ago were the murders again? I thought at the beginning of episode one the voiceover said something to the effect of “in recent days, people with abilities have been emerging.” Whatever it was, I got the impression people were just then getting powers. How long have Niki, DL & Son had powers? Weeks? Months?

You might want to prepare yourself, Doctor. I can’t imagine a story scenario in which the child of two powered parents is NOT going to have any kind of powers.

My gut, DL noticed Niki2 acting strange and doing things that he didn’t want the child exposed to and warned her (Niki) to stop or he’ll take the kid. Niki doesn’t know what the hell’s going on but doesn’t want to lost the boy.

Here comes Niki2 to solve the problem, she couldn’t attack DL directly, so a frame job is the next best thing.

Assuming of course, Niki2’s the one who planted the gun…

I’ve been hoping he’s adopted.

Just read the comic and answered my own question. Almost six months. Some people have had powers for at least that long, then.

Not-so-EvilDad has probably been tracking people for awhile now, and could even be involved in framing DL. But for not-so-evil purposes.

I’d say that in that future timeline, a cheerleader was killed who could have save the world from its fate, but Hiro didn’t have any more information than what was found in the late Isaac’s paintings. Names and locations wouldn’t be included.

Nathan landed at a remote diner, rather than going back into Las Vegas, because he didn’t want to be seen by hundreds or thousands of people flying around in his PJ’s.

also…
Tim Sale was credited in at least one episode as an artistic consultant and Wikipedia specifically notes that he did the paintings.

An updated chart will be linked to soon…

Remember Quicksilver and Crystal?

No, actually. Quicksilver is Magneto’s son, right? I don’t know who Crystal is.

I’m not saying there’s *never * been a story written about an unpowered child of two powered parents. I’m just saying I’d be surprised if they did that story on this show. They’ve already made the kid really smart and perceptive – maybe he’s going to grow into having a true superpower at some point.

And maybe that is his power- supra genius intelligence and heightened senses or intuition.

My latest chart.
