I hardly think that jamming her hand down the disposal more or less on instinct compares to plotting out a scheme to wig the cheerleader.
It’s officially gotten boring. For me, part of the disappointment comes from the shine having worn off. The first season was full of promise. It seemed like this was something new and different and mysterious. Now it’s just network programming. The product placement, pandering to demographics, insanely excessive characters/storylines all contribute to a sinking feeling in me. The distractingly poor greenscreen work, the beach, New York, Monteal, Russia, ect. make it look like they don’t really care.
I’ll stick around to see what Ivan’s son’s power is. Since he looks like Bart Simpson, I’m guessing he’s a new Fallout Boy.
Claire was also a bit selfish with her powers when she and the quarterback went careening into that wall to teach him a lesson.
I honestly think that West is not supposed to be a creepy, stalkery, annoying, stupid little shit and that the writers are a bit surprised by the general reaction to the character. (Is he the first pure duplication of powers? When he first flew in front of Claire, I really wanted her to say “So you can fly. So can my father. So what?” but no, she was impressed by the idiot.) It wouldn’t be the first time a tv show failed to notice how unlikeable a character was.
Yeah, I’d agree, that’s a pretty selfish thing to do. But what’s the fun of having powers if you can’t use them to your advantage from time to time?
Yeah, I really wanted her to say something like that as well.
I wonder if West is adopted. His parents don’t know about his powers and so far every person with powers (whose parents we’ve seen) has had at least on parent with a power. Is it possible that this is going to turn into the pathetic, trite plot line where West and Claire fall in love and turn out to be brother and sister.
Did they ever establish what Sulu’s power was, if any? Maybe I missed something.
I just want to chime in and say I still love it. It may not be perfect, but it’s still one of my favorites.
A scheme that strongly echoed Sylar’s attack at Homecoming and ended with Jackie’s gruesome death right in front of Claire. Seemed utterly inexplicable that she would find this stunt funny rather than horrifically sadistic.
Also what happened to West with his drippy “I now you can heal but never want to see you hurt” crap? That fall must have stung a bit. I hate West…and now he’s making me hate Claire too. He’s a virus and must be stopped before he infects the whole show with his dislikeability!
She was out for revenge/justice for herself and the other victim of his that she knew about (who knows how many more there were?). I have a hard time classifying that as purely selfish in the way that “let’s scare this girl and get her suspended from school and in trouble with the law just so I can get what I want” is.
Remember though, when she found out Nathan could fly her reaction was total wonderment. Of all the things that she’d seen and powers she’d encountered, simply hearing that her birth father could fly provoked the most girly-girl “wow” response. So her reaction to West’s power is understandable in that context, plus he’s a cute boy who gets her and he’s forbidden fruit. Four pretty powerful attractors that are probably enough to blind her to the obvious glaring flaws that those of us sitting jaded in our living rooms are seeing.
Another one was a blond in a box pounding on the door. My first instinct when seeing it was that it was Kristen Bell trapped in a shipping container.
Also, the guy fighting Kensei in the other painting looked older than Hiro - there were wrinkles and gray hair on his head, so I’m going with Yaeko’s father.
Ah yes, I recall that and had the same impression.
Could be a time travelling Hiro from the far future. Hell, it could be Papa Sulu for all we know. Damn Isaac.
The Hereos wiki has images of all eight paintings:

Thank you!!!
I don’t understand what happened. Last season, the greenscreen work was exemplary. Seamless, most of the time. But this season it’s been embarrassingly shoddy - completely unacceptable, time and time again. What on earth happened?
Recently on one of the official sites (I thought it was Greg Beeman’s blog, but I can’t find it), it was said by an actual official personthat Kaito HAS a power, with emphasis and reinforcement on the word HAS, because this information was posted on line after he was killed.
I’d forgotten that Sylar’s real name was Gabriel Grey. So, he and Peter Petrelli are the two characters with alliterative names; I guess that makes sense.
So Gabriel, with no powers available to him, calmly tells Alejandro that he’s going to kill him and his sister, just as soon as he gets his ability back. Is that a good idea?
Well, Gabriel’s a little cuckoo. He’s also counting on the fact that Alejandro doesn’t understand a word he said.
Okay, my girlfriend just pointed out that Alejandro doesn’t speak English, and therefore didn’t understand what Gabriel was saying. Makes much more sense now (I thought he was taking it awfully calmly).
His name’s Elya Baskin. I know him best for playing Nikolai, the Russian singer in Northern Exposure (he had a duel with Maurice before the cast stepped out of character).
Hey, he’s ‘that guy’ from October Sky!
I haven’t seen it mentioned here, but twice in the episode someone named Adam popped up. I believe Noah(?) said it, and Peter’s note was from Adam. When Ivan said the paintings were in the warehouse, Noah mentioned it then. Does anyone recall him being brought up before?
