From when Hiro’s dad is teaching him to fight in the penultimate episode of Season One.
The Petrelli boys don’t seem to resemble him much, but I’ve no doubt he’s somebody’s dad, granddad, etc. I really wouldn’t be surprised if he’s Hiro’s great-great-something or other.
I’m getting the feeling that very much like Michael in Lost, Niki’s role in Heroes is simply a Deus ex machina.
How so?
I just think she’s a dangling plot thread they haven’t figured out what to do with yet.
Once her ‘power’ was pretty much explored and her story over with, she now exists soley to swoop from outta nowhere to provide the answer.
I think we’re going to see a lot more of Niki now that she’s been assigned to Mohinder, much like the Haitian was assigned to Mr. Bennett.
I wouldn’t either. In fact I think that would be a great plot.
Since we know powers are genetic then I must assume Kensei got some action in his lifetime, even if he is not immortal, and that his offspring would have powers.
That could explain how there are so many supers. One guy 400 years ago has three kids who are supers. Then they have kids and they have kids and 400 years later there should be about a million supers spread all over the world.
Also I like Niki now that she has herself figured out and as long as they can keep her story-line interesting, which it should be now that she is Mohinder’s partner, I am all for her being on screen displaying her hot self off.
I like Niki just fine (we are still dealing with Niki aren’t we? Her behavior is suspect) and would like to see more of her (platonically) but she’s always wandered around the periphery of the show. Maybe partnering with Mohinder will help. I don’t trust her loyalties at all right now and she’s acting a bit like “everyone’s controlling me” Niki.
I think the menace in her voice and manner were pretty clear. She’s the company’s girl, partnered with Mohinder to keep him in line and make him hurt if he does anything wrong. She’s the company goon.
Now, if she’s acting like that in an effort to undermine the company, that’s another possibility.
I, too, immediately suspected that it was Jessica who’d been partnered with Mohinder. The actress was portraying the same attitude that Jessica typically had last season while she was pretending to be Niki. And let’s not forget that the sign that told us Jessica was present… was the same symbol used by the Company (… and by half the rest of the Heroes world).
Dragons are like dinosaurs. Maybe the scene from last season will repeat!
Maybe everybody’s super.
Which kinda means nobody is.
Jessica\Niki-I think she’s either merged the two personalities, or J is pretending that she is. This soley on the basis of her wearing a grey suit
Well, the legend as recounted in season one isn’t really being adhered to. According to Hiro when he and Ando were in the museum, Hiro said that Kensai found the sword frozen in snow. Instead Kensai just got it from the swordsmith. If that rather important detail is completely wrong it’s not unreasonable to think that the bit abut having his heart ripped out in front of a dragon is less than factually accurate.
Most tales with dragons have some level of allegory to them
