I made a comment early on about Niki and Co. If my “Memento” idea pans out… it would not surprise me that Niki [if she is not dead, My money is on that ALL of Niki is dead] has other powers, along with hers and Hiro’s (i.e. Claires).

I’ve got my doubts about how evil Evil Dad really is. Remember in Invasion how the Sheriff started out as a bad guy but had morphed into a good guy by the end of the season?
I’m wondering if the Evil Dad character is actually being set up for a similar change from Evil to Good Guy. If you look at everything he’s done, most of it is ambiguous. They implied that he killed Suresh, but we don’t know for sure. Yes, he has “brought in” some of the Heroes, but for what purpose we don’t know. They were returned unharmed except for missing their memory of the abduction (e.g., Telepa-cop). He did have his henchman “hollow out” the quarterback, but that can be explained as a father protecting his daughter.
Yes, he seems pretty creepy, but I wonder if there won’t be some kind of transformation of his character / motives / actions as the series wears on?
Can anyone think of something that we are sure that he did that has no other explanation?

He’s busy, he is still banging his wife. I don’t know if you caught it but in the preview for next week there was a brief shot of him running around with his gun drawn next to the FBI chick.
I do wish someone would come in with a good explaination as to why they emphasized the shot of the broken glasses. The shot had to be there for a reason.

Something sets her off and she amps up into someone capable of dismembering people with her bare hands.
I assumed the gunshots at the poker game was the poker guy with the gun trying to stop Dopplebanger from going frappe’ on the room.
Maybe he can duplicate himself; that would explain him being in NY one second and TX the other. Maybe it’s the glasses off of a defeated/slain copy of himself.
Didn’t mohinder have a broken pair of glasses that had belonged to his dad? Was it the same pair?
Sorry somehow missed a whole page where there was the speculation about where the glasses came from. I’m not convinced about any of the theories yet.
No way that Niki is dead. Ali Larter is featured prominently on all of the promotional material and the official website. Along with Adrian Pasdar she is just about the only one who had a name before the show. And she’s hot. No way is she dead. I just think she isn’t one of the “Heroes”. There has to be villians too, right? I seem to recall seeing a hand around her throat as well as one in her chest. I’m think that the hand in her chest stopped her cold and then he choked her into unconciousness.
Or you can jump on my bandwagon and agree that this is Ikin!

Otto, way upthread you pointed out Claire’s geeky friend’s choice of words about “coming out” and how he really wasn’t flirting with her. For the record, I immediately thought they were hinting he is gay.
Count me among those who don’t think Niki is dead. No way would they build up her character like that, have her finally get some clues about her true nature, and then dispatch her in a few seconds.

Yep I just watched it again on NBC.com. You can go straight to the last part of the episode. DL shoves his right hand into Niki’s chest. It stops her cold. Then he reaches through her chest and his hand comes out the top and closes around her throat. She is not dead, just unconcious.
Your Thorn character pre-dates my Typhoid Mary, but that’s who I originally thought of. If ikiN only had super-strength, you’d think she’d be covered in gore by the time she got done with that poker game. Could there be a telekinetic aspect to her powers?
No way is she dead though. The Vision has been knocking people out by partially re-solidifying his hand in peoples’ chests for ages. Didn’t Kitty Pryde eventually learn to do that too? I know she could take out electronics by phasing through them.
jharvey963, I like Ambiguously EvilDad more and more. He’s willing to “bring him in” and have his assistant “go deep” but he’s almost a bit affectionate the way he handles people. He can be stern in a fatherly way but he hasn’t deliberately hurt anyone. He could have shot Nathan but I don’t think he ever had any intention of doing so. As long as he finds what he’s looking for, or doesn’t find what he’s looking for, you’re free to go. No harm done. Have a nice day.
