There was the scalpel torture session this episode. Based on the results of Claire’s toe experiment, it is safe to say the Haitian was preventing Peter from healing those cuts.
It really bugged me that he still had the cuts while reading Nathan’s mind, btw. I suppose you could say the cuts healed and just left bloodstains, but that’s very much not how Claire’s power works. The blood gets reabsorbed provided it doesn’t soak into clothes or something.
Yeah that made no sense, scar Peter was from the future were he didn’t meet with Claire to save her from Sylar and supposedly got the scar at some point before meeting her. That future was already stopped though, current future Peter comes from the timeline were he did meet Claire and didn’t get the scar.
I didn’t find that convincing, though. We saw blood lines but I didn’t see the edges of the cuts, that is, a gap in the skin. Cheap effects maybe, I don’t know. (On the other hand, Claire made it clear she was planning to cut him 200,000 times [or until she got bored, I suppose]. If Peter couldn’t heal he’d be dead long before she’d get there, which misses the point if she’s trying to torture him.)
Where are you getting the blood re-absorption thing from? Just one example, but when Adam Monroe was shot in the chest by Victoria Pratt last season, the skin on his chest was completely smeared over with blood, even though it was healed almost instantly. There was dried blood on Claire’s forehead when mom found her post-Sylar attack. And there are a number of other examples of this from previous seasons. The blood itself just dries onto the skin like it normally would.
I have no idea what Claire’s toe has to do with any of this, either.
Anyway, my interpretation of that scene was that Peter healed pretty much immediately after being cut, leaving bloodstains on his skin. So the Haitian may have been blocking his other abilities, preventing his escape, but I saw no indication that he was stopping him from healing. So whether or not he can is up in the air.
Blood remaining on the body has been inconsistent; part of it might have to do with hitting their TV rating (conjecture, not fact). To me, if you are complaining about that, then you are just looking for things to nitpick. That’s the type who also notices the different Mr. Muggles and complains how it destroys their suspension of disbelief.
Peter’s lip has always been that way. The actor Milo Ventimiglia was born with deadened nerve endings in his lower lip. I’ve been noticing it a lot more in this series though.
Even WORSE! They used the same Mr. Muggles, and didn’t age him for the four years!!! ZOMGWTFBBQ!!!1! Do you know how many dog-years older he should have been!!! Totally ruins my suspension of disbelief. I hate this show!!
As I already mentioned in this very thread, Heroes operates under the time-travel trope that future events have some inertia. Thus, even though Peter stopped the future where he originally got a scar, he still gets a scar in the new future he created. There are other small instances of the same thing (such as Future Claire being all emo in the two futures depicted so far this season).
This is an example of the Heroes writers being consistent in how their world works. Not the opposite.
Back in season one, when Claire was discovering her power it was shown that her blood gets reabsorbed after being cut. I seem to recall a scene where she was sitting at a computer and cut her hand or finger or something, and the goofy CGI healing effect (the same one that regrew her toe) came out of the cut, grabbed the blood, sucked it back in and closed the wound.
I don’t remember the scene where he got the scar. I thought that we were still waiting to see that explained. If I missed something, can you explain? Thanks.
Apparently Milo Ventimiliwhatever has dead nerve endings on his lip, although I can’t remember where I read that.
What exactly did Future Peter do to piss Claire off so much? And seeing good Sylar made my head asplode.
Peter and Sylar; the two most powerful characters in the whole series, versus Claire (no offensive capabilities), FearMan (who should have just been TK’d or lightning-ed or…something!) and SpeedyGirl (Peter can stop time and then take his pick of TK, lightning, radiation, those funky blue flames…). Instead they both get slapped about like muppets! I did like Sylar’s Gabriel’s literal meltdown on seeing the death of his son.
Hiro, you son of a - !
Hopefully Adam doesn’t import any second season suck in. Listening to Mama Petrelli and digging up last season’s Big Bad, who tried to kill the whole freakin’ world might not be one of Hiro’s smartest ideas.
And how the hell did future Parkman get with Daphne?! Who I’m beginning to warm to a bit; I think it’s her cute nose. The guy looks like a chubby Keano Reeves ferchristsakes.
