Heroes 11/13 - "7 Minutes to Midnight" - SPOILERS

Yeah, I finally managed to get my password so I could log in at IMDB and they are saying it’s someone else, too. I keep forgetting that you can’t entirely trust the info on IMDB. Still it would be neat if it was the aforementioned guy.

Yes. It looked to me as if they were both jumping off a building, or at least someplace pretty high up.

Are you asking if Isaac was sincere in his desire to kick heroin habit? If so, I believe it was pretty clear that he was. He refused to shoot up when Bennet brought him dope and he also needed Eden’s power of persuasion to make him awilling participant.

What was the lead up to Hiro’s talking to memory girl in the diner? I missed it somehow.

If Hiro changed the past in order to keep the waitress from dying, shouldn’t she be back in the diner waiting tables if he were successful?

They just struck up a conversation while she was taking his order. She noticed they were tourists and spoke to them in what little Japanese she knew.

I’m a little confused about Matt and Radioactive Man’s conversation. They both, or at least Matt, had the powers before the missing two days, but didn’t they say things were different afterwards? What was different?

One more question and then I’ll quit hogging the thread.
What was “7 minutes til midnight” referring to?

Was 7 minutes til’ midnight the time on the watch of the guy who killed Mohinder’s father? I couldn’t see the time very well, but that is what it looked like to me.

This. I assume so, in any case. If the information in that article is accurate, 7 Minutes to Midnight is the current setting on the Doomsday Clock, although when I looked for it, I only knew the clock existed, not the current setting.

I think they had their powers enhanced or refined. That seems to be what happened to Eden too. Claire’s dad seems to have a few metahumans working for him. At least two: Eden and The mind-erasing dude.

How did Nuke man know that mind eraser was Haitian?

Am I getting whooshed by all this ‘Sanjog Iyer’/Sylar ‘coincidence’ stuff? Plotholes may arise in regards to time travel, but there is no way the writers would unintentionally name a character that (even if only to misdirect viewers, though I’ve got a feeling they have planned it out a bit better).
Sean Bean’s people are insisting imdb’s got it wrong (what a shock) and that he won’t be appearing-- but this guy 's rumoured to have the role (hmm, doesn’t look like the little androgyne)

Ha ha ha this show is great.

“There was a Haitian.”
-“Yes, I remember a HAITIAN quite distinctly”
“Find the Haitian.”
-“Save the world.”

The IMDB board people claim this is the actress playing the waitress. But she doesn’t have Heroes in her credits yet.

I am starting to think it’s a red herring. How could they be the same person when one is an adult slicing people’s heads open in America and the other is a kid invading dreams in India? Sure there’s the old time travel possibility but I hope not.

not the Dunder-Mifflin Paper Company?

After two slower weeks the pace is accelerating fast and looks like it’s going to keep going. I don’t think we’ll see the the confrontation with Sylar next week but almost certainly the week after.

I did give into temptation on this and check my Tivo’s listings (very minor spoilers for the general outline of the next episode):

Next week’s episode is called “Homecoming” and according to the listing “Claire’s homecoming celebration becomes a frightening night for many.” I suspect bad things going down and the stadium shot being the cliffhanger to be followed up by an hour of long awaited confrontations the week after.

Sylar definitely does not have the ability to detect superhumans and is hunting from a list. He knew the memory girl but not Hiro and from what we saw he would have no trouble with taking Hiro out if he had known he was there. Sylar is definitely a high end telekinetic as well, strong enough to pop the top of someone’s head off.

I’m glad that the Tim’s (the radioactive man) story is continuing. I was concerned that plot line was just going to be dropped.

On that note I am starting to hope that they let some of these people drift off stage for a while. The show had a monster ensemble cast four episodes ago, now it’s overstuffed. When they have to drop at least two story arcs a week to keep the episode size manageable (and keep the costs of paying the actors down presumably) then the cast is getting too big. Hopefully things are going to dovetail a bit in the next few episodes.

It’s interesting that Evil Dad’s treatment seems to be a power amplifier. Is it possible that he’s unaware that it causes abilities to go out of control like they have for the characters in LA? He doesn’t seem to be the kind of guy to intentionally let loose a walking EPA superfund site.

The cop asked Radioactive Man what had happened to him before his powers appeared: if there was some period of time where he’d blacked out, etc. Radioactive Man told about how he’d just made a big sale (he sold medical equipment IIRC) and was celebrating by buying a round of drinks for the folks in a bar. He mentioned that there was a couple from Iowa (IIRC) and a Haitian student. After that the next thing he remembers is waking up some time later with bruises.

Since a similar thing happened to him, he made the connection between Radioactive Man’s Haitian student and the guy the cop saw in the bar just before he passed out.

Did anyone get any details from the file on Iyler that Mohinder found?

It seemed that Mohinder’s girlfriend was a little too insistent that Mohinder give up Dad’s research or it could be that I’m seeing conspiracies every where. (A left over condition from viewing X Files.)

This episode definitely kicked it up a notch. I really can’t wait to watch it again and see what I missed the first time. A much more rewarding show that Lost has been lately in that questions are answered and the plot advances from week to week. Next week looks like a real nail biter. Can’t wait.

It’s not “Iyler.” It’s “Iyer.”

As for details, most of it seemed to be about sleep learning, which would tie in nicely to the notion that the child can communicate through dreams.

Wow, I am sooooooooooo confused now.

Hey, is next week the lasts show before they go into hiatus?

So AED and the Haitian capture Radioactive Man and then release him?! He helps Eden learn to use her power. He’s teaching Isaac to use his power without the drugs (or plans on it…) He couldn’t find a use for keeping Radioactive Man around? Same with Telecop. Why keep some, and not others. If I was in his position, I’d be positioning myself as Professor X and opening a ‘school’ in Midland/Odessa where new supers can come to grips with their powers and not, you know, blow up New York.
If he’s hunting Sylar, he knows Sylar is hunting supers (didn’t he say that about Claire’s parents?) Wouldn’t he be better off telling them, “You have powers, learn to use them, and watch out for someone trying to cut the top of your head off!”, than just grabbing every super and seeing if they’re Sylar?

When Eden was cleaning up Isaac, she told him they wouldn’t let what happened in the painting on the floor, happen in real life. He said that she seemed pretty sure, and she said, “I am pretty sure. Because I went through the same thing myself.”

Her name is in the opening credits of the actual show (it appears during the conversation following Mohinder’s father’s funeral – at the 8:27 minute mark of “Part 2” if you go watch it on nbc.com).

So Hiro gets a girlfriend.
