Heroes 11/13 - "7 Minutes to Midnight" - SPOILERS

oops, forgot to add a question. The actor playing Chandra Suresh – was he in the Zork series? Every time he’s on screen I feel like chanting “I. Am. The Boss of YOU!”

Yep, his name is Erick Avari

He also played Kasuf in the Stargate movie and series.

Don’t blame Tivo. Tivo is sychronized nightly to the same official time networks should be familiar with. If Tivo doesn’t record something properly, it’s because networks didn’t schedule it properly.

Sure. Next you’re going to tell me there aren’t a bunch of little people inside the tv set.

It seemed like very fast people were fighting - clanging around - right before she was killed. I don’t think the other Japanese guy would have still been sitting there if the police hadn’t detained them.

[QUOTE=Greywolf73]
And why are the police and investigators still milling around looking for clues? If Hiro changed the past, wouldn’t that automatically alter the present? Meaning all the investigators would suddenly disappear because the waitress was not killed? Or are they now there investigating an attempted murder? QUOTE]

The cops weren’t there in the original timeline to investigate… they were there for lunch lunch or breakfast or whatever (remember the crossword puzzle). They just happened to be there when the waitress was killed. If Hiro went back and had the waitress not show up that day, or whatever, the cops would still be there for breakfast. In the new timeline, they’re just there, they’re not investigating.

<scrunches face up to go back in time to fix quote tags>

The thing is, Ando will have a knowledge and a memory of Hiro’s being there and now not being there, but theoretically none of the others in the restaurant would once the past has been altered. That’s a conceit for the sake of the TV Show, but it also will help to explain if and how time has changed in the interim, i.e. there’ll be a sphere of influence that will not be affected.

That’s my theory based on those last couple of minutes of the show, anyway. I could be contradicted by next week.

He also played the convenience store worker who yelled, “No weezing the ju-uice!” at Pauly Shore in Encino Man. I don’t know what it says about my husband that he immediately identified that fact when we were watching this week’s episode, but I’m going to have serious problems taking Chandra Suresh seriously from now on.

Maybe they’re doing a missing-persons investigation now?

I’m guessing that Hiro tried to return to five seconds after he left Ando, but that timeline is no longer valid, since he’s got his girlfriend stashed in a seedy motel down the street, so he’s going to have to sneak up on the diner and constiport in, but he got distracted by something shiny, so he’s late. I’m waiting to see if they deal with Ando’s memory of what happened.

Damn, it sucks to watch Heroes Monday night and wake up Tuesday morning to discover your internet isn’t working. Noooooo!

I think Telepacop claiming he’s missing two days is just sloppy writing. I expect the writers to issue us all a No-prize, and I’ll be disappointed if we don’t get one.

I’m still not sure why AED would abduct Hippy Radiation Guy and then turn him loose with dangerous abilities. I don’t think AED activated his powers. My fanwank is somehow AED knows who & when powers are going to manifest and in certain people it’s critical to adjust them a bit, lest their powers quickly go berserk. Radiation Boy has caused a lot of damage, but he also seems to be getting a handle on it. He can calm himself down and dial back the radiation. Perhaps if AED hadn’t had Haitian Euro-Dude (why is everyone bending over backwards trying not to call him That Black Guy? He’s usually the only black guy in the room.) adjust him, he really would have gone nuclear.

Same thing with Telepa-Matt. If he hadn’t gotten adjusted, he may have ended up insane without any ability at all to keep other people’s thoughts out. He thinks his powers grew after the abduction, but it could be they grew more slowly after the abduction.

I’m guessing this is one of those time rifts Hiro should know better than to risk creating. Obviously, he’s still not very good with his powers and he’s gone and got himself photographed at the restaurant in the past. He’s never gone back and changed his own past before but this time there are two Hiros in the same block of time and he’s going to have to figure out how to prevent a rift occurring the moment he and Ando enter the cafe the first time and there’s no waitress there for them to meet.

Who knows how the writers are going to work this out, but I do like the idea Hiro may very well come back speaking better English. How long may it have taken him to fix various causality issues?

Ambiguously Evil Dad is still ambiguously evil. He seems to have an almost paternal-like regard for super beings and will rescue them, i.e; Claire, Eden, Isaac & possibly Haitian guy. But he’s willing to put Isaac back on heroin to save his daughter. He’s racking up some negative karma points he’s going to have to work off.

Otto, I agree about Mohinder’s shirts. I want all of them and the name of the store where he shops.

I can’t figure out if Mohinder’s got powers or not. Seems like he can dream walk into the past. That might be a useful power. But what’s the kid doing in his dreams? And didn’t Mohinder-mom seem rather calm when Mo-himbo casually began telling her about his apparently very accurate dreams of the past?

Yes - this was stupidity for the ease of writing.

When he says “in the dream, he says I’ll never take the place of her” (or something) and she reacts not by either “wtf, that’s weird!” or “oh that’s just some coincidence”, but by apparently calmly accepting his dreams were actual supernatural visions and explaining them.

That’s where I’ve seen him before!

Dammit, now I’ll have Zork in my head whenever I see him. :smack:

I. Am. The Boss. Of You!

According to that same EW article I mentioned a few posts ago, the mild-to-moderate spoiler answer is:

He accidentally went back six months. The article (or my memory) was unclear about how he returns, but just slogging through the six months in realtime is a definite possibility. So his thick accent – and his status as single – may be in jeopardy.

I think it’s clearly the kid who has the powers, remember, it was the same kid who the file in the bottom drawer was about.

And there was a headline or something in the file that said learning doesn’t stop when we sleep. So, the kid’s got astral projection (retrocognition), useable on up to one other (that we know of), only while sleeping. I’m not up on the latest edition of Hero Games, but that’s not too expensive. Maybe 45-60 real.

[spolier] I’m going with the theory that Papa Suresh is Sylar. Something he found in his research about the people with special abilities scared the hell out of him and so he decided to off them all before they could destroy the world. [/spoiler]

Whoa…I just found out, via imdb, that the girl who plays Claire, Hayden Panettiere, played a little girl in an episode of Law and Order:SVU about a rock star couple who’s son died. I never would have guessed that was the same girl. It’s weird for a teenager on TV to actually be played by a teenager and not a 25 year-old.

She, as well as much of the rest of the main cast, has a surprisingly long resume. Panettiere almost made Racing Stripes watchable, almost.

Woo, hoo! Hayden and I share the same birthday.

Over twenty years apart, but still cool.
