Do we know if Peter has to touch someone to gain their power, or might that have been misdirection?

I think he’s touched his brother, Isaac, Claude, Sylar, and I’m pretty sure Claire.

Did he ever have physical contact with Matt or Hiro? We know he’s got Matt’s telepathy, but so far he hasn’t exhibited any of Hiro’s abilities nor does he seem aware he may have them.

Hero came back in time to talk to him specifically most likely because he absorbed Hiro’s powers, and in the future, Hiro knew that.

Hiro’s power is to place himself outside of time - and when he was using it near Peter, Peter also became placed out of time, hence he was the only one on the train who wasn’t frozen.
