Capped literally! Did anyone hear what Nathan whispered to Hiro?
I believe it was “Nobody can.”
Wasn’t that some irony? (In the Alanis Morrisette sense) The only guy that could heal DL is was lying dead on the floor next to them. (can he heal himself? That was a wicked wound, defying physics and all that.)
That’s what I heard.
Thank you, people with better speakers than me.
This wasn’t my favorite episode, despite the high body count and the presence of all the heroes.
I thought Hiro’s sword training was a waste of time. Is Sylar going to have a sword too? Was it a confidence-builder for Hiro? Lame. It would have been enough for him to know dad was on his side.
Tonight’s ep got me thinking about what I want for Heroes’ next season. No more Big Bad – how do you top a nuclear blast in NYC anyway? I’d be happy with some character development, the history of former heroes, relationship building that does more than make alliances, and some humor from somebody besides Hiro and Ando. These guys are way too serious.
But he was fleeing from Linderman’s thugs, so it was Linderman’s fault.
The training wasn’t about making Hiro proficient with a sword or about building his confidence. Recall the story Hiro recounted, about the warrior and the dragon.
Some great lines tonight:
“Don’t you remember the future?”
“Didn’t I throw you out a window?”
“Right…nice to see you too.”
“I’m not most people.”
“Boom!”
How about a virus that blocks powers and kills the Heroes?
Linderman dead from fist-in-head disease. Yikes.
(I can’t hear Sylar saying “Boom” without adding “baby.” I have watched too much Tick.)
(I am one of the late show watchers - the show isn’t on until 10:00 pm here. I do actually know enough to not open this thread until, well, now. Discuss away, all you early folk.)
I can’t hear anything Nathan whispers to anybody, on accounta the fact that Adrian Pasdar is so smokin’ hot my racing heart obliterates all other sounds.
Looks like Hiro is going to have to willingly sacrifice Ando (cut out his own heart).
Nice interpretation - possible.
I enjoyed the ep because they were willing to do stuff. It gives me hope that while of course there will be a cliff hangar or two in the finale, there will be closure on major issues. I really like the way they are structuring the show and the use of the Big Bad approach that Buffy used, with other subplots happening within that context.
Good show.
I hope I’m wrong, but it would not surprise me if this is it (this season) for Hiro. Masi strikes me as one of those masters who won’t want to be typecast, which staying with the character longer than one season could do.
With all the foreshadowing we’ve seen, I don’t think that Hiro would be the same character if he lasts 'till next season, anyway.
But I’m thinking that we might start over with mostly a fresh crop of Heroes next season, anyway. And I’m wondering if Matt’s FBI buddy might be one of 'em.
I got the impression she might have a power too. Which would be fine with me, since I like Clea Duval a lot. Assuming Molly survives, I have a feeling she’s going to become something of a human Cerebro and will drive a significant portion of the plot.
The character of Candice is a TV executive’s wet dream. If the actor gets uppity, just fire her and bring in someone else since no one knows what the character really looks like.
I think they’re doing great stuff with the show. When Hiro finished his training with his father, you could see that seriousness and determination and the start of that general bad-assedness that we saw in Future Hiro. But man, it broke my heart that Ando thought he had to take matters in his own hands.
When Niki and DL showed up in Linderman’s office and took care of him, I thought “Ah, there’s the reason that they’re in the storyline!”
And there’s another reason not to trust electronic voting machines, people!
I’m kinda of two minds about the characters continuing. I really like some of them (Mr. Bennet, Clair, Hiro), but I’m not sure how much more they can do with them. OTOH, I don’t want to see an increasing number of bizarre powers showing up because the series creators feel like they have to keep out-heroing Heroes.
Yes, Micah has a job waiting for him at Diebold.
When Candice became the black woman, Micah said something to her, and she responded with “How do you know this isn’t what I really look like?”
What did Micah say?
A couple of other revelations from this episode:
Papa Patrelli also had power.
Hiro comes from a long line of Hero’s… unless he ends up becoming his great, great, great great <etc> grandpappy, he is not the one in the stories, but a descendant.
Bennet’s the first smart one of the whole bunch… he shot the bad guy TWICE to make sure he stayed dead… a lesson that others need to take to heart… of course, him hesitating when he saw Molly (not surprising, but still) is what will cost him.
“that there’s what we call a mexican standoff, only we ain’t got no mexicans”
DL killing Linderman - “That there’s what you call Irony”
I don’t think he said anything.
