I hate that excellent performers like Jordin and Sabrina are getting overshadowed by LaKisha and Melinda this year, especially when you consider Sundance or Brandon or Phil could make the top 12 and not one of the better girls.
Looooooooved Jordin, the pure joy she has performing, her personality, her impressive range, I’d buy a CD if she put one out today.
The girls just outshine the boys. Sabrina was also wonderful. She also needs to sex it up. I think that’s what Simon is trying to say in his own nasty way.
Antonella is this years Malakaliki whatever that girl’s name was. She’s just terrible.
That was Antonella’s best ever performance. With that said, she still sucked.

Ouch. I have to say, I have irrational Antonella hatred, but she handled herself well with an impossible question. I think the pity votes may come out in force.
Kudos to Simon for saying it straight out, Antonella is simply out of her league vocally, regardless of all the drama.

Sabrina wasn’t her usual flawless self, which of course still puts her miles above all 8 men, I certainly hope she’s in next week.
Boy, the judges were brutal to Antonella. I was feeling sorry for her even though everything they said was true.
I’m not sure whether they really, really want to get rid of her or, if that dressing down was a Rovian ploy to strike up sympathy and keep her around longer because scandal has always been good for Idol.

So is Haley the fourth one? She sucked either way… I’m bad with names. I’m a bit worried here. The Vote for the Worst phenomenon might end up hurting Sabrina which is a girl I really like. I think she deserves to be in the top 12 and has the potential to do quite well if she throws down a few solid performances. I doubt she’ll win but I think she deserves to be in the competition longer than she may be.

I really don’t know precisely how much influence the show’s stylists have on what the contestants are wearing, although I remember last year’s contestants getting a shopping spree for each week’s performance, implying total autonomy. That mightn’t begin until the finals, who knows.
What’s up with the girls generally dressing up and the boys dressing down? You’ve got cocktail dresses and evening wear or at least an attempt to show off one’s assets in a classy and tailored way versus ripped jeans and tennis shoes and baggy tee-shirts and weird hats. :dubious:
I’m not big on the pacing Lakisha had with that song but other than that, I’m a fan now because she finally sang a song I actually like.

I don’t think she looks beautiful. I think she looks a bit lumpy and wrinkled. But it is better than the orange shirt and jeans skirt.

I agreed with every word that Simon said about Lakisha, except for the wardrobe comment. I do think that she’s very pretty, but the dress is not flattering and the hair is starting to swallow her face. She looked best the first week.
