Hey Bernie, go to hell and take all of your Bros with you

This is something that Sander’s critics should not forget.
He could have run as an independent in 2016.
Many people encouraged him to run as an independent against Hillary and Trump.
He chose to run as a Democrat and then chose to support Hillary and the Democratic party in the election precisely because he did not want to split the vote.
Once Hillary clinched the nomination, Sanders worked tirelessly to help her secure the vote, in spite of his dissatisfaction with her, because he knew Trump would be a disaster.

As far as I can tell, his only concern is improving the sociopolitical environment of the USA so that it benefits the general population.

I think the progressives turned their backs on the democrats.

Clinton and the democrats did embrace sander’s platform. And sander’s supporters didn’t vote for Clinton.

Time and time again, the dems have been burned by trying to appeal to the left wing and far left of the party, but they just won’t show up to the polls.

The right wing and far right are very reliable voters. That means that the conservatives pander to that part of the party, even though it’s not in the mainstream. If the left wing and far left were that reliable, then the dems would pander to them as well.

I can, and most of us can, I think.

The people who won’t agree to vote against trump are Sander’s followers though.

What do you feel constitutes “appeal[ing] to the left wing and the far left?” Because I’m not seeing it.

Cite, please?

We may as well also pause in remembrance of the “Bernie Bros”, who sat out the election to spite Clinton, instead of voting against Trump. They helped Trump too.

But how many? Hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands? Do we actually know anything?

Nope. It seems clear at this point that the divisions were played up by the Russian social media machinery. Without actual numbers to support it, the idea that “Sanders supporters refused en masse to vote for Hillary out of spite” is merely propaganda intended to divide. I’m sad to see so many people buying into it on faith.
.

It’s cute that you allude to some idea that Hillary Clinton put people up to things while Sanders disavows the notion of Russians doing the same thing - despite the evidence.

Since you and Bernie are obviously simpatico, tell him to stop helping Donald Trump.

So let me get this straight: The man who “did not know theRussian Bots were promoting my campaign” is also claiming:

So they knew nothing. But had an aide tell the Clinton campaign about this nothing that they knew. And the Clinton campaign doesn’t remember anything about it. These are the kinds of inconsistencies that cause reasonable people to think that maybe someone is not being totally honest.

And as for Jeff Weaver, he already is a known liar and Bernie or Busters still tout his demonstrative bullshit to promote the conspiracy theories that Nevada was a tragedy to justice and the Bernie way.

But as long as Bernie can continue to point fingers at Hillary, that’s all his fan club needs to continue to feel their bullshit is justified.

Well, I am a little more discerning.

I’m better than continuing to trust Bernie Sanders in any way. As you can see from comments in this very thread others are not as discerning. And if calling them “bros” will somehow cause them to stomp their feet and say “that does it, Jill Stein forever,” I would submit that “someone called me a name” is shitty justification for a vote akin to a child holding their breath if they cannot have pudding.

Also: This is The pit. I make my point this way because I am angry. I can definitely point out the dozens of things Bernie has done (or hasn’t) that helped Trump. I haven’t even brought up how he was one of five people in both chambers of congress to vote against the Russian sanctions after being only one of four Senators to vote against the Magnitsky Act. I parroted his lame excuses before for those before, but seeing how he stutters when his name came up from Mueller, it sure makes me wonder why i did.

Power to the Left ear guy!

Yeah. So maybe Bernie shouldn’t be calling out Clinton over bullshit.

I was trying to sing “Kumbaya” as recently as a couple days ago. I’m done. I’ll chose the side that didn’t help and continue to help Trump.

The only person less naive than you was Bernie because even he was aware that running as an independent was going to relegate him to the dustbin of history. That’s why he ran as a Dem to begin with.

There are only two. You pull on this end of the rope, or the other, or you stand off to the side with your hands in your pockets and tell the rest of us how much smarter you are. We have about six months before crunch time, and we have to win. Win against gerrymandering, and voter suppression, and the vast herd of idiots willing to follow the alpha lemming right over the cliff. And we have to win decisively, thoroughly, and totally. Butt must be kicked.

We could use your help, if you’ve nothing better to do. But, brother…this ain’t it.

Wrong.

Now, I understand fully that this kind of bleed happens in every election, but not to this magnitude. More importantly, Bernie himself assisted in this. He didn’t denounce the racist and misogyny of many of his supporters nearly often enough. His attacks on the “establishment” and the supposed “rigging” of the Primary - some of which were not based in reality - contributed to this. Him staying in the race six weeks to two months longer than he should have contributed to this and also gave the Russians that much more time to continue to stir that pot.

And since then? He limped back away from the Democratic party. He refused to endorse Ralph Northam in Virginia when he beat bernie’s chosen candidate Tom Perriello which could have been disastrous. He made the aforementioned vote against Russian sanctions. And now he is pointing fingers at Hillary again.

Bernie could have done a dozen things differently and Hillary would have been able to overcome everything else - the sexism, the media, the Russians, her own mistakes - if only the guy who wound up getting most of what he wanted in the Democratic platform had done maybe one less of the shitty things I outlined.

But he didn’t. So fuck him.

If pointing out that the guy who has done so much to help Trump - with evidence of all of those things - is maybe someone we shouldn’t emulate if we want to beat Trump makes me the bad guy, too bad.

Bernie helped Trump.
Bernie is still helping Trump.

If some people have their tongues still so far up Bernie’s sainted ass that they cannot see this, they are going to assist Trump themselves whether I point out loudly and correctly why I am done with him and them or not. So I may as well let off some steam.

If we don’t need their votes, we win without them. If we do, we get what we deserve. Again.

But I’ll be damned if I am gonna be quiet either way. Fuck him.

Are you saying that the democrats did not move to the left to try to accommodate the demands made by Bernie and his followers?

The reason that you are not seeing it is because the democrats did not win any elections, so what you are seeing is the result of conservative policies.

You remember 2016, when they did not turn out to support the democratic candidate? How about 2014, when they didn’t’ show up for the midterms, or even 2010, where they left Obama high and dry and allowed congress to be swept out from under them.

They are not reliable voters. They will only vote for a candidate that promises them everything they want, and that’s not practical.

He “had an aide” tell the Clinton campaign? That’s not what Sanders said.

He “knew nothing”? That’s not what Sanders said, he said “in April and May, it appeared that there were lots of strange things happening, attacking Hillary Clinton.”

You’ll be right at home in the other fan club, the one where Sanders must be bashed at every opportunity to excuse Clinton’s loss. They love shitty arguments and innuendo, you’ll fit right in. Meanwhile, the sensible people are trying to build a Democratic wave for the next election cycle.

His exact fucking words on audio:

Do I have to post this again?

Haha, you used Bernie and sensible in the same sentence. Sanders deserves to be bashed for a lot of reasons. But do stick up for your lying friend, comrade.

“…and he went to the Clinton campaign.”

Not “I sent him to the Clinton campaign.”

Now, maybe the guy didn’t really go the Clintons, we don’t know. But he didn’t say what you attributed to him.

 Keep trying to divide the Democrats, the Russians sure would hate that. Grow up, you’re acting like a teenager after their first breakup.

Same here. I have a fairly good Bullshit Detector.
