…but I promise not to let it die. This week was Back to School Night, so I had no life outside of that classroom. Ugh. However, I got my first paycheck in three months…niiiiice.
BagLady, I love the idea of DopeFest buttons! What’s the cost? How long do you need to make them?
I’m liking the Old Town Pasadena thingy. I’ve never been to the Muse, but I’ve been curious. It seems more like a party and dance place, though–we don’t seem to be that kind of a crowd. Makes conversation somewhat difficult! Before we get too into the exact Where, perhaps we should nail down a when. Going backwards: The last weekend in November is of course Thanksgiving, so that’s out, and Veteran’s Day weekend I really want to tear out of here. October 14th I’ll be going to Santa Anita to watch a friend’s horse in a big race, but the 13th I’m free (ooooh, Friday the 13th).
So, here are the dates (I’m sticking to weekend nights, Fridays and Saturdays). Post and let me know what ones are your preferred ones (maybe a list of the top three choices?):

As far as I can tell all of those days are good for me. I have to express a preference for Saturday nights, though. It is tough to battle traffic to make my way to Pasadena on a Friday night. Hell, even Santa Barbara traffic on a Friday night is annoying.

Now…a date. I’m thinking Friday, October 13th would be fun. First of all–it’s Friday the 13th! How cool is that! Plus, that way SUEp and PUN can make it. I know Fridays are difficult, Pat, but c’mon, you can make it, right?
We have several recommendations on the actual place. My suggestion is we establish a date, and then settle on the place afterwards (as there are sooooo freakin’ many places to choose from on Colorado Blvd. alone). Thoughts?
So–how’s the 13th sound, folks? That’s a week from this Friday, for those of you keeping score at home. 
Friday is definitely possible for me, just that I will be in class (6 blocks away from Old Town) until around 10, so I would not be able to join in the fun until around 10:30 or so. So, go ahead and sign me up for it.
I don’ even know if I’d be up to it just yet–but I’m free from Friday 'till Saturday every week. Got classes on my other days.

While I work Fridays thru Sundays, I will try to make every effort to attend…Oct. 13 works for me. If I start dozing off (no offense), just have a doper slap me around (surely there will be a line to do this, possibly a highlight of the evening).
I’m thinking of the scene in Airplane where there is a line of people lined up to slap an hysterical woman. Some people were carrying blunt instruments.
If my friends forget my birthday, I should be available on the 13th and/or 14th. If they remember, I’ll probably be busy on (at least) one of the two nights. Mark me down as a “maybe.”
On another note, correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe some of us (Ashtar, at least IIRC) are under 21, so somebody’s going to have to buy them their drinkies (at the very least) or get them fake IDs (at most) depending on when/where the 'fest ends up being.
Saturdays are probably best for me, since I won’t have school or football games to get in the way on Fridays. I’m currently trying to arrange for a ride, but not having the greatest success. Any Dopers live near Woodland Hills?
FWIW – if Saturday Oct 21st is the date then Mrs. Pluto and I can be there (in the evening). We’re flying down to watch them film the X-Files! (We have an in!!!)
Actually, October 13th would probably work for me, since I don’t have a football game that the band is going to, plus I think I get out of school early that day. Depending on the location of the 'Fest will determine if I need a ride or not.
I suppose I could ride the bus.
Well, maybe not. The mechanics and supervisors may have broken it off, but without the drivers, full service isn’t going to be restored any time soon.
