Why would a gay man not respect the institution of marriage? Perhaps because it is an institution that has continuously disrespected gay men and women?
I never said that I don’t believe in or respect marriage.
I said that I think that waiting to have sex until marriage is antiquated and leads to problems for both partners.
I’m a gay man married to another man. If I didn’t believe in marriage, I’d not have married the one I am with in a large ceremony a few months ago.
I don’t see it as judgemental to state that I think that people cause themselves unnecessary trauma by waiting to have sex until they are married. That was stating an opinion that was not focused at any sexual preference or gender. It just so happened that one person chose to see it that way and throw a hissy fit.
I didn’t throw a hissyfit-I asked for clarification as to what you meant. Whether it was an opinion like the one you stated, or that it meant people who do are prudes and stupid. Thank you for clearing it up.
