It’s Monday, I’m up, caffeinated, and sheveled, and we’re supposed to get up to eight inches of rain today. Anybody need an Ark? I Noah guy.

My new job is finding a new job. 
My first Firday off was apparently the wrong day to take. I came in to 2 urgent drafting jobs on my desk. I feel soooooo needed.
And so, to work. Happy Moanday!
Today I start work finding other work. Foundational stuff this week, then next week I start pounding pavement. In gamer terms, I’m going to be leveling up my adulting skills. I started by finding where the breaker box is in my Stately Turret after one popped while I was making breakfast. Note to self: don’t run all the things in the kitchen at once.

Tomorrow the highs will be back in the eighties. Weather by Sybil. No real big plans today. I should go on unc and probably will. Other than that it’s here with mom and sis.

Howdy, co-worker!
At a period where lots of things are almost about to happen all at the same time, and each one of those things can’t happen until another happens. Plus there’s an angry due date hanging over them all.
Having no money sucks monkey nuts.
On a slightly brighter note, I updated my CV-slash-résumé using Graphic Design techniques I’ve recently learned and it’s come up a treat.
We have friends who are part of that Ark Experience thingy.
Don’t ask ----- we aren’t as close to them as we used to be.
Two things – in the small world department, the Cathouse the OW plays piano for (it has less stigma than admitting she’s with a law firm) is part of his defense team. Cubit jokes may be inserted here.
Second thing – worse comes to worse consider Da Jungle. From what I hear their leadership change-over around you is pretty regular. Be a hold-over until something worthwhile comes along.
I’ll be ready for my Monday but it doesn’t start until 3pm.

It’s been a crazy busy morning, compounded by time card issues - apparently my boss didn’t do whatever it is one has to do when a flunky goes to reduced hours. I hope he gets it straightened out so I get paid this week.
I had 3 “gifts” waiting on my desk when I came in - a short fuse revision of several drawings for the boss, a quickie correction from one engineer, and a return to a massive mess I started working on in November and which has been revisited after several fits and starts. Dunno if I’ll get it done today or not.
Then there’s the big fat stack of drawings that just came back from check - some have corrections and/or changes to be done. I feel so wanted.
Wanted is good.
Today’s schedule is chock full of running around to Get Things Done[sup]TM[/sup] before heading to CA late today.
Sorry to hear about the job Spidey.
I have gotten none of my assigned work done in the past two weeks because of client emergencies. Grrrr.

Been hiding under the blankets all winter?
So the accreditation visit is on Wed. I have been pulling together more documentation that was dumped in my lap on Firday. I have one employee that “can’t get my clothes messed up” meaning she cannot clean. I am about ready to scream. I am going to tell her to wear old clothes tomorrow and put her to cleaning whether she wants to or not. This visit is no surprise.
Blurf. Definitely not a hi-ho commute today. Got rear ended by someone who was talking to the kids in the back seat and paying 0 attention to where she was going. No damage to me (it was sub 20mph), or anyone in the other car, but the car boot no longer appears to lock.
Pretty minor really, and may be an easy fix… but my car insurance expires today. Gaah. In fact, all my policy documents have already vanished from the online account, freaking me out. They have confirmed it is all still valid, just they tidied up a bit early, so I’m getting transferred round everyone in the department until someone can register the claim. Not what I had planned for the evening. I already spent half an hour this morning on the phone to the student loan company, trying to start sorting that all out. Enough hold music for one day.

It’s a rainy day and kind of chilly. The heat has been running all morning.
I just noticed it’s past morning, the day goes fast when you sleep in.
Sorry to hear about the accident Nut. Does the other driver get to chip in any money for repairs?
In theory, they should, as it was decidedly their fault (I had stopped to let a car which was pulling out of a side street and already in the middle of the road in lane), but when you get insurance involved, it can all get a little complicated, and it may wind up simpler just to see if someone can fix it and sort it myself. I don’t care about dents, it ain’t all fancy and new, but I do care about the boot not locking.
I’ve now been on the phone, mostly on hold, for nearly an hour and a half, and spoken to 5 people, two of whom have said ‘Yes, your insurance is valid until 11.59pm tonight, there is no reason why the claims guys shouldn’t be able to register the claim’, and the other three have gone ‘Uhh, your policy’s coming up as expired in the system, I can’t register the claim, I’ll have to transfer you’, interspersed with copious jangly crackly muzac.
I should be going to juggling club now. Getting a bit grumpy.
