Tis cloudy and breezy and supposed to be 77 today but stroms later. Had a nice mini trail ride with Ariel–just to the back of the pasture and back. She, of course, was fine. I,of course, was not quite the mess I usually am.
My desk is covered in paperirk and I honestly don’t know where to start. I have a lot going on this month but don’t have a central calendar so I need to look through all the bits of paper and consolidate. I feel my grasp of time and reality is sloooowly slipping away.
I, too, am unfond of San Francisco. I went once and that was more than enough.

One thing about being unemployed, the Stately Turret has never been cleaner. I actually polished the wooden furniture! :eek: And then I* moved furniture* and vacuumed underneath it! :eek: (The dust under the couch was getting dire. :eek::eek:) Fluffy Sam is not happy with the amount of vacuuming that’s been going on lately but my sinuses are grateful and since they’re in my head they take priority.
Back to resume drafting. I’m almost ready to have a craptastic revisable version. That’s the version I’m submitting to Irish Storyteller’s HR eye so I can come up with better phrasing and targeted keywords. Do y’all know how great it is that I’m renting from an HR guy who can help me with this stuff? An HR guy who used to be an administrative assistant and thus knows the right words to use to get a job in that field?
Went out earlier today with the Mrs. to a meeting with the local office of the [immigrant] absorption ministry - and we’re astounded to find out what benefits we’re still eligible for even after being here almost 10 years.
Now I’m sitting in my “office” (our 2nd bedroom) and working and listening to either tank or artillery practice off in the way distance. Those shells are loud!
I have re-read my post and realized my today’s and tomorrow’s were all confuddled.
Today I am doing those things I said, including that flying on an airplane thing. Yesterday I got those med things that didn’t let me sleep. Hopefully that all makes perfect sense I tried anyhow.
I have given up on pretending there might be sleep and am drinking coffee. I intend to get more shortly. MMMMM, coffee.
Nothing like redesigning stuff you thought was all designed. But I have come up with a few simplifications, so that’s good. I just need to quit with the dumb mistakes.
But for now - lunch.

Home from the college.
Of course the sun came out while I was sitting in the truck waiting, making it hot and uncomfortable.
He got an A on the test, and an A for the course.
Two classes down and two to go.
The dog is doing better but I know I am just delaying the inevitable. He’s not suffering, just fading.
Is Sah-dog still happy with the little things? Or is his life a chore? That’s how I tell. If food is fun, and he’s glad to be with you, then he’s still glad to have a place with you (as long as you can manage pain and so on). If nothing is of interest, and he mopes, then maybe… It’s always hard.

Did two loads of laundry, mowed front and back yard, and took some nappage. Now need to get dressed to coach the boy’s soccer team and start dirtying the clothes I just washed (it never ends).
The sun has come out!! It’s warmed more outside than inside, so I opened the windows for a while. Huzzah!!! And the local strawberries are being harvested - I’ll go get some on Firday. Yum!
Passed a really bad accident on the way home - or the remains of the accident. On car was in a ditch, facing the road, and it looked like the roof had been peeled back with the jaws of life. On the other side of the road was a SUV with the front left smashed in and the tire pointing 90° from its usual position. There were fire trucks and an ambulance and they were alternating traffic - it was probably a couple of hours since it had happened.
I had to drive thru a car wash - my car was poop-bombed by a squadron of birds. ick.
Supper was salmon, peas-n-carrots, and tots. Dishes are done. I’m about to go make another hat or two or 3 or 4.
Howdy Y’all! Been a pretty peaceful day here. We’re keepin’ mom comfortable as she prepares to let go which is all we can do right now. The bros were by earlier so the bros, sis, and I, along with the bro’s wives had a good visit together. We discussed funeral stuff among other things. We’re agreed that the will be in the funeral home chapel. That’s where we had dad’s and little bro’s services so it seems natural to continue with mom. Plus it’s just easier.
Sis and I had sketties leftover from last night for dindin. 'Twas good and now 'tis all gone. YAY!

I will be so glad when month end is over. My manager is out for the week, so any large adjustments will have to be taken to his boss Friday for signature. His boss isn’t as familiar with our reports, so he’ll ask a lot of questions.
It was nice and sunny here today. I’m ready for warmer weather. After the creek cleanup Saturday, I am determined to get out on the bike for a few hours.
My flight home tonight kept getting delayed. It got to where I would have been getting home around 3 (and another delay would have just meant a cancellation, due to flight restrictions out of this airport). I just had them move my flight to tomorrow morning. So I get home tomorrow instead of today. My folks went out to a historical society meeting. I decided to make biscuits for dinner, which I have did and they were yum.
That’s about all from California. Hopefully a peaceful journey home tomorrow.
Forgot to mention - we had our group meeting yesterday - the one the boss titled “Basics of Emu Farming” - the last slide was trivia about emus!
There was much crashage on my work computer yesterday, so today I get to re-do some of what I’d done. Fortunately, I’d printed most of it, so I have references and don’t have to think as much. Which is good.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis a dreary, drizzly <snerk> 69! <snerk> Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 79 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse for the day. We shall see. No big plans for the day other than laundry (almost out of clean dainties!), and some defilthyfication of the house. I’ve been hesitant to run the vacuum so as not to disturb mom but I don’t think it will matter much now. Mom is pretty much non-responsive to us which is to be expected at this point.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then I should purtify so sis and I can get on with the chores etc.
Blurf And the accreditation visit is done for my program anyway. I think it went really well and was even told I run a good program by one of the visitors plus everything is so clean. I am so sore today I can hardly move. I ache all over.

As soon as I send in my timesheet I may skedaddle early as I had some really long days lately.
Fine I will just talk to myself like Swampy often does:D At our house whoever finds laundered money gets to keep it unless we remember it before it is “found”. The only exception is if it is a very large amount of money like over a hundred. I never lose that much but hubby has been known to.
We are having our house connected to the sewer today. The plumbers were there when I left to hook up the laterals. Finally gonna have a sewer system in the Keys.
I sure do miss not having my dog at irk. He can come back Moanday bless his little neglected heart.
We just had free lunch–pizza. Twas good.
OK, off to accomplish something towards EOM. Hard to believe it’s almost May.
