I’m so sorry
I shoulda slept with Mel last night. I woke at 2:30, tho it might have been due to the thunder. Still, from then on, it wasn’t really very good sleep. Then I got up to discover that a certain feline had opened the pantry, and pulled over the box of dog treats, dumping several on the floor and apparently batted one around, because I found it by the garage door. Idiot cat. And before I could pick them all up, Higgs nabbed one.
But all has been put more or less right, dog is fed, and I’m finishing my egg-n-cheese sammich. Because of the rain, I’ll have to wait to mow - no way I’m going to walk across a wet slope. Stoopit rain.
**MetalMouse **- I’m pretty sure it’s a raise because on my pay stub (or whatever one calls the electronic version) the extra was incorporated into my regular pay rather than a separate line item. We’ll see in 2 weeks.
**sari **- a couple of months after I quit my last job, the amount of my pay there suddenly appeared in my account. I knew they didn’t owe me anything, so I emailed my ex-boss, and in short order, it was sucked back out of my account. Maybe it was a keystroke error. I just hope someone wasn’t using my info to commit fraud.
Thus beginneth my day. It’s supposed to be sunny and low 80s, which is why I wanted to mow early. We shall see how it plays out. Worst case, I mow tomorrow morning.

Morning all.
Nothing much to report except getting up at 0530 is not a habit I wsih to develop any further. Need to make a Staples run and then search out a soccer field in another town (my boy’s team plays there next week and rather than make maps based on goggle, I’d rather drive it myself and make sure it is a reasonable route.
Sari, I’m not sure I’d be as calm about that message as you are; if he(?) made direct threats and has your contact info, even if it is the wrong person, well, you never know. I’d talk to your sister and get that end cleared up and if there are follow-up messages, perhaps report them. IMHO as always.
Now need to don clothing and get newspaper from the front yard.
Mom passed away around ten last night. She was peaceful and sis and I were by her side when it happened. We had us a good cry earlier last night and our sweet cousin Kathy (who, although sweet as she can be, will not hesitate to open an economy sized can of whoopass when it’s called for) came to be with us. I called the bros who came on over as well. Hospice was there within twenty minutes of bein’ called and the hospice nurse was so supportive and so great with everything. Meds got disposed of, and the funeral home call was called with seamless effort. We will meet with the funeral home this mornin’ to finalize plans.
Thanks everyone for all your prayers and support through this. As I said before, Mumpers be the best!
I suppose I should go purtify. I have to put on grown up pants instead of shirts and we all know what a trauma that is to a retired person.

Love to you and your family, swampy. Your mom raised a proper good bunch of kids and she was blessed with a gentle, peaceful passing. I’m sure she’d be proud of you donning adult-length pantaloons.
MetalMouse, it is a she and since none of us were referred to by name, I think it may be bs. However, I will be careful with it and anything else that comes around.
I don’t talk to my sister, ever. It is only through gritted teeth that I even refer to her as such. The nicest thing I can call her is my mother’s other daughter.
FCM - I guess I am going to have to wait to find out where the money came from. I’m not touching it until I do. It happened once before where irk doubled paid us, but this time the two deposits aren’t the same amount. I just realized, it can’t be a state or federal refund because it has cents in the amount.
Today is going to be a weird day, and already all my plans for the day have changed.

Damn, just got an email from irk. Payroll problem and they will be taking the extra pay back.
Heading to the vet shortly. I don’t know what the outcome will be. Then I will take the rest of the day from there.

Taking a break. I cut back a bunch of wisteria, pulled up some poison ivy, hauled off a bunch of downed branches, and mowed in areas (not the ditch, tho) that the riding mower can’t go well. We’re getting ready to go to Lowe’s, Best Buy, and lunch.
Oh, and I ran the dishwasher. Go me!!! Productivity rocks!
So my morning has been hellish. I have the day off. I have a text from my boss saying its OK to be off today then I get a phone call from my boss at 0800 asking if I am enroute could I stop by the Director’s office for the meeting with the accreditation team for an outbrief? :smack: Mind you there was a published schedule with no mention of said meeting. I am off. End of story. Geez sometimes I wonder about him.
Some of you may remember me mentioning a while back that my boss was sneaking around with one of his employees romantically? Well they finally came out and got married so I guess his brain is fuzzy.
I am waiting to hear from boss what the team decided regarding the accreditation. We are already accredited but not 5 star. This trip was an opportunity to earn the 5 stars. I doubt we did and sort of hope we did not as having it means we have to keep it. I know I run a 5 star program but I know other facilities do not. Just MHO.
I’m not nearly as sore today as yesterday so will probably manage to get some housework done so I can relax all weekend. Hopefullly.
Back from the vet.
Good news/bad news kind of deal.
The vet was a first thinking we should put him down but we asked for some tests and he good news is that all of his systems are functioning well, the bad news is he has an enlarged heart, fluid in his lungs, possibly cancer, and has an infection in his mouth. So we have antibiotics and heart pills.
They were afraid to run the tests though because he was so stressed already they thought the blood test and e-ray could kill him, but he did well.
Now I have to get the pills in him. Won’t be easy.
Nobody knows, he could have a few weeks, a few months, or a year.
Wouldn’t you know - when we ran our errands, the gutter cleaners came by! Not a huge deal - they left the bill in the door and I’ve just written a check that will go out in tomorrow’s mail. But I wasn’t expecting them till later this afternoon. No biggie. Our gutters and the roof are clean, plus they blew the crap off the back deck. All for $110. So I’m happy.
We had lunch at Potbelly’s for the first time ever. Not bad, and we timed it just right. There was no line when we got there, but as we were finishing up, people started arriving in droves. Some in cars, too. Then we ran by Food Lion because we were almost out of milk, and the last stop was the strawberry place - 2 big baskets that smell yummerrific! Guess what’s for dessert tonight!
Meanwhile, back to work for me.
