Hi Ho Hi Ho It's Off to Heave I Go - An Early MMP

Thai food tonight. Thai beef salad for me, and they finally understood I like it hot!. Mrs. L.A. had orange chicken without onions or bell peppers. No stars.

And I’m finally having a mai tai… in a tiki glass I bought 20 years ago and never used. I also found the Jägermeister glasses I was looking for a few months ago. They were in two of the tiki glasses.

Evening all. Nothing much to report, rainy day so I stayed inside for almost all of it. Been a lazy week in general, but indoor soccer starts tomorrow morning so I’ll get out of the house for 4-5 hours with that. About 145 kids signed up, so that’ll be fun.

Have read all but absorbed little, so I’ll try to do better tomorrow. Everyone have a good night (or good morning).

I’m fine today–just a little scabby and bruised, but nothing much. When I fell, I heard something light hit the ground with a “click.” I couldn’t see anything with my little flashlight, so I figured my Dollar Store sunglasses fell. This morning I realized it was one of my medications. I went back to where I fell, but I couldn’t find it. I’ll call the pharmacy tomorrow and see if I can get a refill. Insurance won’t pay (“Suuuuure you fell and dropped it. Riiiight.”), so hopefully it won’t be too pricey.

I’m going to be in severe daughter withdrawal starting tomorrow. Her brother will be a huge comfort, but I hate having her out of touch. I had a hard time when he went to Florence 8 and 9 years ago. (He did a semester abroad for his MBA, then returned with his GF to propose. Both kids are good at traveling on the cheap.) I would have preferred they never left home but stayed close by until we all turned into Tennessee Williams characters.

There’s a wind advisory, and we’re supposed to get 1-2" rain tonight. So far it’s calm and barely drizzly, as it’s been all day. Hopefully the power doesn’t go out. Bless all utility workers, says I.

 Ha! I went to UPS: Unclothed Persons Shipping.

unknown, you should get George a little basketball hoop and a Nerf basketball. I bet he could dunk.

flyboy, you may have explained this before, but how did Goo get to be called Goo?

Mooooom, my heart melted, too, when I read that Roxy said you’re her BFF. Gotta love that Roxy. I wonder if she’ll ever know how many fans she has out here in Mumperland. Oh, and my sister loves her water aerobics class. I bet you will, too.

Butters, ugh on the stress of the Hyperdrive house prep, but yay on the Yummy Mary. I hope the home office doesn’t cause big headaches. Maybe there’s a loophole. To quote Lucy Van Pelt, “There’s ALWAYS a loophole!”

That’s the name she had at the shelter. Same as Tonka and Abbey [sic].

Allie (aka the Princess) came with that name from the shelter. I did change the spelling, though, since I felt that Alley as a cat name was just a little too bad-joke cutesy and she didn’t care how we spell it.

Felix(RB) had been called Soldier for about two months of shelter life. Ex-stray, so no idea what his original name was. We renamed him after a few days, since he’d gotten it across to us that no, Soldier was not HIS name. Tried several possibles, got a strongly favorable reaction to Felix, so Felix he was for the next 16 1/2 years.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 67 Amurrkin and cloudy out with a predicted high of 79 with light rain predicted for part of the day. We also have a DENSE FOG ADVISORY in effect until ten a.m. I shall spend a large part of the day over to the church house. At nine a.m. I have assistance to take down a bunch of tables and chairs in the Parish hall. We are taking down all but six tables and thirty six chairs (six to a table). There will be a reception after the memorial service at two p.m. There is an Advent Quiet Day from ten a.m. to one p.m. as well. So, I’ll be there at nine o’ clock, do the quiet day thang, be Verger at the service, and, because I am still church janitor JW stick around until the reception is over so’s I can make sure the buildin’ is all locked up and secured. I will be soooooo glad when this becomes someone else’s problem.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, bother, woe, and despair, I suppose I must needs purtify and don appropriate attire for all this activity. What a burden!

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Off to Oxford today! The broker said technically, the boat is ours, even tho we haven’t closed, so we’re going to get some of the logs and the canvas to bring home. Plus it’s going to be a nice day, so a good day for a ride.

But first, we’ll stop for breakfast.

Happy Saturday!!

Morning all. Woke to very heavy rain and there is a tornado warning in effect until 11am, so soccer has been postponed until 1pm. So will be a lazy morning.

And that’s all I have for the moment. All y’all take care.

It’s grey and a hell of a lot colder now. There were a LOT of tornados last night in the area but we were relatively safe. Mostly just a lot of debris in the yard and at one point it sounded like a train was next door. I hear a local Amazon facility partially collapsed with people trapped inside. My heart goes out to them.

Everyone is still asleep. I let the kids stay up and watch movies until all the warnings were expired.

Stay safe, ratty and best of luck with the medications, Nellie.

Good morning everyone.

It was pretty gusty and raining in the wee hours. It woke me up. Of course, silly Polar loves stormy weather and chose to hang out on the back porch during the worst of it. He was soaking wet when I got him inside. There are positives and negatives to having a doggy door and one of the negatives is that a silly Siberian Husky will insist on going outside to lie down in the worst weather, not to mention snow. The snow I get; he’s a snow dog after all, but Trying to dry off a double-coated dog with a towel can be an exercise in futility. I toweled him off, gave him his meds, and his morning peanut butter-covered biscuit.

It’s supposed to be rainy and a little breezy all day, but I will have to suffer it and get my butt in gear to hit some stores. Yesterday was filled with some household chores and decorating, so I never got out of the house for the errands.

I missed the part about your fall, nellie. I’m glad you’re doing okay. I hope you were able to get your meds refilled without any large hassle.

bumba, I hope your wrists are feeling a little better today and that the doc can do something to help you.

I hope those of you in the tornado country stay safe.

butters, big hugs to you. I hope everything goes smoothly with the prep and sale of the house.

Well, I should finish my coffee, tidy the kitchen and hit the shower. I need to be ready to go as soon as stores open because traffic in my little corner of the world is horrendous, especially near the places I need to go today. The sooner I can be done with the errands, the less traffic (I hope).

Like wordy and metal mouse, there have been storms here. I woke up to the tornado siren ~3:30 am and there were high enough winds that I cleared the hall closet out and stayed up for about an hour and a half.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and talking to Sis (she’s on her way up). Christmas gift wrapping is on the agenda, as well as lunch with SIL today.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Read everything. Terrible weather last night in places. Glad metalmouse and Red are Ok. And hope the lives lost are less than what is being said.

My sonny boy is going to come down on Tuesday with a helper and do my repairs and paint. He swears he can do it all but the end of the week so we shall see. I will pay him as I would have had to pay anyone else and he can use the money for Christmas shopping. I told him I want nothing at all unless it can be consumed. Food or body wash are examples.

When I had my tumble the other night the sorest part of my body was my boob until yesterday when my ankle swole up and started hurting. Why would it take 4 days to start hurting. Always something.

Nellie I hope you aren’t too sore and can get your meds refilled.

Taters. Good luck with Christmas shopping. I am not participating this year unless I find my new future home. Sari I am with you on the bile pile of BS.

Mooommmm Darling photos. That baby though. I love his hair.

I am going to try to stay off my foot today and back to getting rid of my clothes I can’t wear, won’t wear or have too many of tomorrow. The car was picked up this morning. I watched it get taken away. I spent a good part of my life in that car.

Bumba That sounds horrible. Here’s hoping you get a diagnosis and a cure. Doogggioo. You do have a way with words. I most times lol at you.

Hugs to all that need them.

Have they asked you yet if you’ll do it “just one more year?” :kissing_heart:

I was wondering how you ‘broke’ your boob, Butters. I’ve put a lot of time into the study of boobs over the years, but until now I never knew they could be broken. Hope yours is mended. And your ankle too.

We had part of Taters’ wind.rain storm down here last night. Even Vinnie, who usually pays no attention to the weather, didn’t want to go out in it. Neither did I.

I just had a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch with coconut milk. I like it 'cause when I’m finished with the cereal I have a bowl of horchata. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

{{{{{everybody}}}}}

nellie what a PITA about your meds. I hope they are the cheap ones, and you catch no hassle over it.

talky I’m glad you’re ok. Tornadoes are scary beasts.

red Ditto!

metal mouse Stay safe!

bumba I’m sorry your wrists are so bad. My husband has a terrible time with his. Sending you a solidarity elbow tap.

butters Moving is hard. I’m sending you positive energy. I hope it’s a smooth journey for you.

I like the way you think, young man. It’s a nice variation on having chocolate milk left in the bowl. :stuck_out_tongue:

We’re supposed to get hit with another atmospheric river starting late today. Following that, according to TWPTB, we’re getting 5-6 more days of rain. This is good, I hope. We need the rain, but now we worry about the failing dams and mud slides from the fire scars. California: if it’s not one thing, it’s something else.

I’m making biscuits, bacon and eggs for breakfast. My son has already asked me what’s for dinner. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Today is the first day of Christmas break and I am happy! No 6 am alarm for a few weeks! Woo-hoo!!!

Stay safe everyone. Happy Saturday!

I’ve been reading about all the death and damage caused by the storms in Kentucky, Alabama, etc. My heart goes out to all who suffered losses or even just had a scary night. Red, metalmouse, et al, I’m glad you’re OK. Anyone know whether doggio’s neck of the woods got hit?

It started pounding rain about an hour after I posted, and I mean pounded. I finally got to sleep but kept waking up due to the wind and water throwing themselves at the windows. The rain has all but stopped, so I’ll head to the gym in a bit. Taters, glad you’re OK. I hope flyboy is, too.

I’m feeling fine today. Nothing hurts at all. Very minor fall. I called the pharmacy, but the phone just rings until I get a message saying the mailbox is full. I may have to walk over there.

My goodness, swampy, you’re going to be too holy for the likes of reprobate ol’ us.

I believe it prefers to be called unintelligent.

Personally I recommend the next time this occurs get some audio recordings of the noise - many people who don’t actually hear something like that will underestimate how bad it is - including the owners.

Hey there Tugig!! How ya been, stranger?!? We kinda sorta drove by your neck of the woods on our way home from Oxford.

We retrieved a bunch of documents and manuals from the boat, and generally looked around, thinking about things that need to be done. I’ll be so glad when April comes and we can move it to Solomons - that drive across the Bay is a long one.

I read everything, but my brain is mush, so hugs-n-stuff to all! I need to decompress and maybe read for a bit.

Well when I move I am taking no big furniture except my bed. So just my kitchen stuff, clothes, linens, dog and cat and my new bike. I will buy new furniture. Screw having to pay thousands of dollars to move stuff I never really cared for too much. But, all that will still be too much. Maybe I’ll just buy all new clothes too. Would make my life easier right now.

My Ocala realtor has a video walkthrough scheduled for tomorrow on a house that meets most of my criteria. Yard being most important. I called my hubs kids and told them I was selling as the plan was for them to split the proceeds should I have lived here til I croak. They both said they just want me happy and comfy which I wanted to hear but had they bitched it wouldn’t have mattered. I really don’t care if I leave anyone a penny. I am going to try to enjoy my life henceforth.

I have recently became a huge football fan so off to root for Army since I worked for Navy.

(tacklehug) We don’t see you anywhere near enough around here!

Just got back from nail prettification. Traffic was not fun. Lots of rain (1-3 inches) expected here in the next couple of days, major wind Monday.
