He is adorable! Takes after his grandparents.
Our IT support company made changes. Monday they synched my files. They wanted to know if I’m using the H: drive, which is a personal drive that doesn’t get backed up. I was like, ‘Sometimes yes, other times Network, and other times Documents. It depends on what pops up.’ So they synched Documents so that it contained everything in H. Going forward, I would have to use Documents all the time and it would be backed up regularly. No worries, I just have to save to Documents, right? Well… I’d forgotten that the hundreds of programs I’ve written read from, and write to, a folder on the H: drive. So now I have to change all of the addresses to the long-ass address they have (C:\Users\[me]\OneDrive - [28-character company name]\Documents[my read/write folder]\… followed by the file name). Easytrieve is a very old programming language, and there’s a 72-character limit per line. Fortunately, I can split records by adding a ‘+’:
SYSNAME ‘C:\Users\[me]\OneDrive - [28-character company name]+
\Documents[my read/write folder]\…’
A bit of a PITA, but I’m just updating the two to five addresses as I go along so it’s not too bad.
Back from our jaunt to Annapolis - it’s dang cold out there!!! We wandered around Bacon, realizing that since we don’t have a sailboat, there’s not a lot of stuff in that store that we’d need. But it was fun looking. Afterwards, we drove thru a couple of boat yards we used to haunt, then we came home. It rained a bit on the way home, so obviously it was too warm for the snow that had been threatened.
Our chart kit has arrived - it’s charts of the Chesapeake Bay and associated rivers spiral bound in a handy book. We’ll have a GPS chart plotter aboard but it’s good to have paper charts as a backup, because things happen… It came with a CD which I’m going to pop into my machine shortly so I can play with it. Getting closer to boating time!
So if any of you will be in the area after April, we can go boating!!!

I am sore. My boob is broken.
Is that how you broke your boob?
Sorry you’re feeling down {{{{{Butters}}}}}
I’m sitting here with an ice pack on my right wrist. I apparently sprained(?) it a week ago and it’s not getting better. Prolly 'cause of all the activity associated with moving.
Also, there’s something wrong with the coffee machine. It only gave me a half a cup this morning.
Plus also, I have been informed that we are doing Hexmas stockings this year, so now I have to come up with some small bits and bobs of presents for Wifey., who is impossible to buy for.
My life is so hard.
Back from the retinal specialist appointment. Everything’s fine; see you in four months. I couldn’t help grinning. I LOVE hearing that!
Aaaand…I got to ride in a Tesla for the first time ever (an Uber)! We cruised down I-5 and the driver’s hands didn’t even touch the wheel (until we changed lanes and exited). I still think Elon Musk is a whack-a-doodle, and I can’t figure out why his logo looks like the female reproductive tract, but he does make cool cars.
FCM, yeah, yeah, Tobias is cute and adorable, but more important, he’s beautiful. He has gorgeous features, and oh, that thick hair! Hearts will be broken across the land.
shoe, dang, I hope there’s a quick, cheap fix for that freezer! If the repairman starts giving exorbitant quotes, it might be necessary to stand between him and the exit while stroking Pretzel.

Have to tell you guys this:
I had a voicemail today threatening ‘legal action’ if I didn’t respond.
But they spoofed the phone number of the local pie shop.
“Legal action” or will someone come over and throw a pie in your face???
I registered for the Secret Santa gift exchange at the orifice. We had to fill out forms giving people ideas of what we like. One cow-orker, who is a pilot, said she hopes she gets me. She suggested One Six Right. I already have it!
Spent today digging through clothing that can be given away to a local transition shelter. Holy crap, that stuff just builds up unnoticed over the years. Culled out mostly souvenir t-shirts, most of which never fit in the first place. LOTS of jeans that document my expanding universe. A nice tailored suit, since I will not be buried, nor will I willingly attend a wedding, funeral or other suit-required event. Half a ton of socks. A couple of jackets: I seem to have an obsession with coats and jackets for some reason. I’ll have to do a deep dive on all of this stuff. I’d rather buy new clothing than pay to ship it across the country when we move. The Ms has piles of clothes from her working life, whereas I dumped all my ties and button-downs almost immediately upon retirement.
Good socks are a godsend for people living on the streets - you have to walk a lot, yanno.
And the suit will come in handy for some lucky soul interviewing for a job.
Ya did a lot of good, sorting through it all.
I missed that you’re moving…? Sorry for overlooking something. Is it soon? Do you have a new place picked out?
I’m sorry about your friend cookie.
Mooooooom, Tobias is one cutie pie!
bumba, a good stocking stuffer for your wife would be paintbrushes.
Irked, came home, walked Nelson and et. Such is life at CasaRoja.
Stay safe and healthy y’all!
Yeah, I need to go through my clothing collection, too. My t-shirt collection has gotten to the point where I can’t get them all into the t-shirt drawer. I’ve got jeans with blown out knees that no longer fit, for some reason I seem to go through the left knee first, and a bunch of things that haven’t come off of hangers in years.
Just got off the phone with my mother. A friend of hers - Polish, church, known each other for decades - died abruptly and unexpectedly.
She’s quite upset, of course, so I chatted with her for a while, and hopefully took her mind off things.
Meanwhile, I brought a big, sturdy box home from irk (it’s used for shipping briskets, so it’s built tough) and will be evacuating whatever seems salvageable from my “freezer” into my backyard. There will be curious critters, I’m sure, but the food will be a loss otherwise anyway, and it’s like, 20 F out therebrisket,
I will also be eating an odd assortment of random used-to-be frozen items tonight. So far on the menu: garlic toast, and tuna steak.
I, too, am sympathetic, but confused. Do you mean your heart ?
No matter what, I hope today has treated you better.
Okay, that’s kinda fun. Wheeeee!
This made me snort-laugh. I like your style, lady.
Drawer? Singular?
Amateur.
So everything was overloaded and screeching. They have been putting "Pinyellow(Pink/Yellow) on Pink belt, and having Blueberries heave it onto Yellow belt past our diverter. Which didn’t work. So Second Senior Shouting Officer had them put it on our belt, so we could heave it over the diverter. Except that made the belt way overweight, so it stopped working. So for the second day in the row, I was dragging bags up an incline like some sort of medieval peasant. But at the end, when we were re-taping boxes, and dealing with loose stuff, there was an honest to god anvil there. So I guess late Mumper Ruble was telling me “Welcome to another Peak Season, rookie”
Read that as “Small bits and boobs” .
That’s 3 times more than I have to heave. You’re hardcore.
((((shoe))))
Cool, that gives FCD and Roxstar time to design and build some pirate stuff for the boat. ARRRRRRR!
And Tobias is totes adorbs.
I’d want that for a Secret Santa gift.
If she gets me, she knows I have it. If I get her, I was thinking The Legend Of Pancho Barnes And The Happy Bottom Riding Club. There’s a one-in-ten chance of either of us drawing the other.
I thought that since we’ll be calling our boat Sandpiper, we need a logo of a Scot in plaid surfer shorts on the beach playing the bagpipes… right? I wish I had the artistic chops to draw this.
It’s cold and icky out and it’s the only thing keeping me from going to DQ. I want a peanut buster parfait, dammit!
So. A friend is driving me to UPS tomorrow because there’s no way I can get the outgoing Christmas boxes there otherwise, even with the Santa Cart. But now I have to have everything wrapped. I was determined to get to the gym, but I’m not done wrapping yet, and its dark and raining, so…I dunno.
Ladies and gentlemen, Roald Dahl on acid:

I like yours!

There will be curious critters, I’m sure,
Skuuuunks! Oh, wait, I think they hibernate. Never mind.
Butters, I, too, am sympathetic but confused about this broken boob thing. It sounds awful. Is it in a cast? Will it ever be able to play the piano again? Whatever is going on, I hope it’s better soon.
Howdy Y’all! Stuff got did and sup got cooked and et. Thus it was at da cave today. OK, I did make up a beastloaf for tomorrow’s sup, so there’s that.
MOOOOOOM Tobias is such a cutie! His outfit is to die for.
Butters is your boob in a sling or cast? If it’s in a cast, will you let people sign the cast? Also, hope you and the boob are better today.
shades maybe you can ask your bug question in GQ.
shoe sorry about your freezer woes. Hope it can get fixed on the cheap.
Nellie yay for your high falutin’ ride!
Evening all. They dropped my newspaper at my neighbor’s house, didn’t spot it until I went out to check for mail, and then had to double-check with them (was pretty sure they don’t subscribe, but I’m not taking something off another person’s property without checking). So now I have my puzzles and crosswords for the evening’s entertainment.

I thought that since we’ll be calling our boat Sandpiper , we need a logo of a Scot in plaid surfer shorts on the beach playing the bagpipes… right? I wish I had the artistic chops to draw this.
nellie, never been in a Telsa. Did have a Prius as a rental car once, it’s an odd feeling driving without the background growl of a gas engine.
shoe, awaiting news tomorrow of the survival rate of the frozen stuff. Guy could’nt make it out today?
cookie, when I remodeled a couple years ago, I got rid of a lot of clothes…seems like I have most of them back now…
OK, need to do a few things and then be about readin’ and TV watchin’. All y’all take care.
