Calling something a “Cow College” is intended to insult that institution. It is not functionally equivalent to “Land Grant College”.

After reading that (and this) thread, I’d say you first have to get a mind.

I heard dauerbach doesn’t recycle, burns plastic, leaves the water running while brushing his teeth, and doesn’t properly dispose of household chemicals.

Yes, calling a school a cow college is an insult. I thought everyone would be too dumb to realize that. Just my luck, one person was just smart enough.
It is with a happy heart that I say goodbye to the BBQ Pit. The lack of humor, insight, critical thinking…hell, just about any thinking, that I have encountered here is remarkable. To save time, I will ambush the massive wits who would say I am speaking about my own posts. Way too low hanging. It is hard to believe that this is the same website the features Cecil. I am assuming he has never ventured into the pit. I can only imagine him leaving shrieking with horror.
Now if I can just figure out how the the ignore button works. I know of people dumber than a box of hammers who have figured it out, I figure I won’t have much trouble, being smarter than a box of hammers.

Actually, most people just shake their head and think you’re not worth the effort. They are probably right.

Have you ever read anything Cecil has written? That dude invented condescending snark, which is what you’ve forced by coming to the pit in the first place.
I want to make this crystal clear: You are being derided because you bit back at people who have tried to be patient and explain to you a subject that you have demonstrated less than average knowledge of. It started out fine, but you stuck your fingers in your ears like a three year old and started shouting, “Nyaah nyaah! I can’t hear you, you big meanies!”

My senior year I had a Hotelie housemate. Unfortunately he mostly took hotel admin courses and spent all his time in a recliner chair in the living room drinking beer and eating cold pizza.
He undoubtedly makes three times what I do today.
I read the linked thread while a rerun of The Big Bang Theory was playing on the TV, and I was struck by how much dauerbach’s style of entitlement reminded me of Sheldon Cooper.
Then I read his posts in this thread and was reminded of Maj. Charles Winchester.
