Hillary just lost the election.

Very glad that she’s taking her health seriously. Pneumonia is nothing to mess around with. It’s easily treatable with rest and antibiotics. I tried to keep working and ended up hospitalized. A tough lesson to learn.

And Johson/Stein/et al. pick up the other 18-20%?

When I googled it, pneumonia takes 1-3 weeks to recover from, though it said the individual should start feeling better after several days of antibiotics. Like the other poster said, unless she wants to suffer some kind of relapse or sabotage her own recovery she ought to take the time off to relax.

I think the California trip cancellation was expected and I agree it’s a good thing for her.

I am really pissed off about the kind of press coverage this is getting, though, on mainstream sites like CNN.

Right now the main headline is:
Weekend of stumbles

Subheads are things like:
Clinton stumbles, reveals illness and cancels campaign trip
Doctor: What Clinton’s stumble tells us

And of course the inevitable video link:
See Clinton stumble

Honestly, it’s like the news was being written for a six-year-old:

Dick and Jane are running a race!

Oops! Jane falls down!

Why did Jane fall down? See Jane fall down (picture on page 6).

Meanwhile, the New Yorker online hasn’t even mentioned her illness, but is focusing on “basket of deplorables” as a potential political gaffe that might allow the Trump campaign to position themselves as uniters.

But that’s pretty boring to the Dick and Jane crowd. They want to see Jane stumble. Is there any hope for democracy?

Or worse, she gets stabbed by a rampaging unicorn herd? Just asking questions here…

I wish i were as confident as you, my friend. This is not going to be 1936, or 1964, or 1972, or 1984.

I still think Clinton will win, but i don’t think it will be one of the biggest electoral defeats in history. I would, however, be incredibly happy to be proven wrong.

If reason and sanity dominated the American political landscape, Clinton should be able to take four weeks to lie in bed and recover, and still win 48 out of 50 states. Unfortunately, that’s not the world we’re in.

  1. I still stand by the opinion that Hillary can’t lose no matter what happens.

  2. From what I see the play about her medical fitness is a loser. The smarter play is how she brushed off the questions when she was leaving her daughter’s place. Forget fitness and play up the lack of transparency.

pneumonia isn’t good news for elderly people and Hillary already has health issues from the fall she had. She wasn’t able to walk on her own today . If her health can’t hold up during campaigning how the hell is going to as president of USA !!?? Trump isn’t going to let this go away quietly , he already said Hillary’s health isn’t good and this is going to score big in Trump’s camp ! Damn fool of a woman running for president with her health issues and baggage ! I agree she is washed up ! SHIT ! I couldn’t seeing her winning the election before and I sure don’t see it happening now . She had a cough for awhile now and I knew it wasn’t from allergies like she said it was .

This would be best for her, and she should cancel the debates too.

Here’s my conspiracy theory: the media has bought off on the “unscripted” reality TV show drama and every election will be a nail biter, even if it really isn’t. It’s frustrating but the media is going to keep those ratings pumped 'til the end.

Thank you, Doctor Aid.

This is the break the (provisional, honorary, not-affiliated-with-any-actual-Sanderses) Sanders campaign has been waiting for!

And I’m only half-joking…I’ve seen plenty of online comments today expecting her to step aside and let Bernie take over. Which is batshit.

Thank you Google.

Google says you’re welcome.

I have no idea about the magnitude of the issue, but I just now watched the video as I was out all day and the first thing I thought of was Weekend at Bernie’s. Before the car pulls up she’s either leaning or propped against that barrier thing. I would be worried if that was someone I knew. It seems like she recovered quickly but it’s not a flattering video.

Report of RNC emergency meetings to consider replacing Hillary Clinton.

It looked bad because I think she didn’t really do what she should have done. If she’d have just gotten off her feet ASAP and maybe had a little water, I don’t think it would have gotten that bad. But instead they marched her out to the street and propped her up until the van arrived. And now instead of headlines about how she sat and drank some water for a minute or two (which would have been big in the fever swamps but not gotten any mainstream attention), there’s video of her limp body being pushed into a van. :smack:

Yeah, because gop.com is a neutral source.

Even if she were laid out stone-cold dead, I would vote for Hillary over Trump.

Hillary’s Health Concerns Serious, Say Most Doctors Polled by the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons

Questions about Hillary’s health are more concerning, more widespread and more legitimate than many posters here can bring themselves to admit.

As for me I’m almost starting to feel sorry for the old harpy. She’s chased the golden ring of the presidency most of her adult life and sacrificed a great deal in its pursuit, and now it truly looks like it’s starting to fall apart before her very eyes. If she weren’t such a smug, condescending, hateful, lying bitch I’d probably be feeling sorry for her already, but as it is I can’t quite make myself pull the trigger.
