So what? She got sick. There is as yet zero evidence that this is having any significant effect on the polls or people’s decisions on who to vote for. 538 Polls plus still shows Clinton 70% percent chance to win. Even on the very unlikely chance that this causes Clinton to lose 5 points (no way), she would still win. Look at the electoral college not national popular vote.
What gets me most about the coverage of this is that normally staid mainstream media types are simultaneously feigning outrage that she didn’t disclose her pneumonia diagnosis immediately, and then doing things like what Cokie Roberts did on NPR and asking whether this means Hillary should drop out of the race.
She probably should have disclosed the pneumonia immediately, but that would have been much more likely if the media hadn’t been reporting insane conspiracy theories about her health for weeks and if they could be counted on not to completely blow the story out of proportion.
Just watching the news today, and you can see the reporters licking their chops as the polls narrow. They want so desperately for this to be a tight race. No matter that the popular vote is nowhere near as meaningful as the EC vote, and that’s still not really close.
Hillary needs to take a clue from Obama. He ran such a good campaign-- steady as you go, and don’t react to every outrage of the week. The fact that she isn’t wiping the floor with Trump is more telling about her ability as a campaigner as anything else.

Exactly, it’s a joke for Trump to complain the media is biased against him. Actually they are incredibly forgiving of him compared to the relentless hounding of Clinton for every controversy they can manufacture.
Why are there not multiple updates a week in MSM about the following?
Trump U fraud case
Trump Foundation , giving fund from other people as if they were his own
Rape case against Trump in civil court
Trump’s refusal to denounce David Duke
Trump’s refusal to release tax returns
Trump’s ridiculous doctors letter instead of real health records
Trump’s connections to Russia, does he owe money to Russian ogliarches?
Trump’s fawning appreciation of Putin and outright contempt for democracy
I could go on. If the MSM was doing their job we would be seeing wall to wall coverage of all of the above and real investigative journalism and this election would not be anywhere near close. I mean why do we not have any real investigative journalism into Trump’s finances , including how much and to who he owes money to eg foreign nationals. This stuff is still possible to find out.
Reality matters.
And you don’t have to tell me to look at the electoral college vote; I am still more confident of a Clinton win than even 538’s odds and I doubt this incident will change much. But it just happened two days ago so you shouldn’t act like this didn’t make some blip in the polls. We don’t know yet.
She nearly beat Obama, she’s okay at campaining. She isn’t winning because a third of the country is flat-out insane, the Bernie-bros made every right-wing Breitbart story about her mainstream, so now half of the Democrat base believes she’s a corporate shill working to enrich herself, and the media isn’t bothering to mention shit like Trump promised to start WWIII over a rude gesture from an Iranian patrol boat.
The media needs to chill out about her health. FDR won WW II from a wheelchair, JFK had a lot more health issues than Hillary, and Reagan was in the early stages of Alzheimer’s. Pneumonia ranks at diddly-squat on that scale. Did any of them provide full disclosure? So what if they didn’t?
Let’s say the worst case comes to pass- President Hillary Clinton dies in office. We get President Kaine, who would promote very much the same policies. That’s why we have vice presidents.
You are forgetting a major point. Polls aren’t instantaneous. They lag, by a week or so. Look at the post convention bounce, that didn’t occur the day after the convention. It took a week.
If Trump plays this as I suspect his evil campaign will, (points at Stephen Bannon) this will leave a deep mark that won’t buff out. Expect footage of Hillary and her (arguably) failing health issues to be on every night.
That said, Trump has played this very well. His only comments have been “I hope she gets well soon.” He’s learning. 6 weeks ago he would have laughed at the event. Never trust a quiet enemy, they are up to something.
She, a shoe-in and one of the most famous people in the world, lost to a 1st time Senator who almost no one knew a few years before. Someone who was lagging her in the polls by double digits when the campaign started. She almost lost to an aging, socialist, Jewish guy who started out at 2% in the polls. As Bill Maher said: We put you up against a black guy with a Muslim name, and a Jewish socialist. We’re making it as easy as we can!!!
I want Hillary to win. I hope she is more introspective than that, and doesn’t blame outside actors for her own failings. The best way for her to lose is to internalize your analysis and think it’s everyone else’s fault except her own.
That 1st term Senator was also a once-in-a-generation political talent comparable to Bill Clinton, with an incredible campaign team.
And she didn’t almost lose to Sanders – she was consistently ahead and consistently on track to win by a significant amount. Sanders was never more than a long shot to win.
Not that she’s an A+ campaigner (like Bill and Barack) – I’d give her a B-/C+ or so. I’m hopeful she kicks up her game for the remaining weeks. I’m optimistic but far from certain, and looking forward to the debates.

She lost to one of the best, and most charismatic, orators we’ve had run for the office. That’s her greatest weakness, so no real surprise she lost there. And she was never close to losing to Sanders. He was never anywhere near her in delegate count.

Nah, he is still as piggish as ever, he still had to add that patented “nobody knows” in a recent interview before saying that he hopes she gets well soon, for him it is the same as saying “she is lying folks”. To his audience.
I have to add that Trump also said recently that her “half of his followers are deplorable” comment as “much worse” than Mitt Romney’s 2012 remark that 47% will always vote Democrat. So besides being an ignorant about scientific issues that will affect the future presidency, we have to add that Trump can’t do basic math.
