Ho Ho Ho - The Christmas MMP

rosie you know those actor/singer/artsy types. They’re all so high strung. Plus, that’s a big problem with this here internet. Someone can intend to mean one thing, but since it’s all just words and no way to know such subtle things as tone, body language and all that jazz, it can easily be taken another way. Don’t sweat it.

I am ready for ACBG to bring his hiney home! Ok, he’ll be back tomorrow, but still, I wanted him back already. I’m impatient like that.

What about the rest of him?

Well sure, but it’s the hiney I’m missing the most.

Wow! Three pages already on Wednesday. And lots of long posts about everyone’s holiday celebrations so lots to read.

Glad most everyone’s Christmas was good. I’m sorry that some of you find the holidays to be a down time. Mom’s like that too. I just like all the pretty lights and stuff. What? I’m easy to please.

We had a very quiet Christmas. Church service Christmas Eve and just the two of us on Christmas Day. Oh, and **KeithT ** made crab legs for the Eve, and I made lasagna for the day of.

Here are our Christmas photos. The last one is of a bunch of tea lights in the fireplace since we’ve never gotten around to buying wood.

I do have the full set of wedding and honeymoon pictures online, but as there is personally identifiable information on them now, I’m not going to post the link here for the whole world to see. I trust the MMPers, but who knows who’s lurking out there. So if you really want to see all 89 pix of the wedding and all 67 of the cruise, email me (email’s in my profile), and I’ll send you a link. Assuming you’re an MMPer and not one of the hoards of lurkers. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hoardes of lurkers. That’s kinda scary. Makes me wanna go close all my blinds.

It’s cool outside. I discovered that big time a minute ago. See, I’m all toasty warm here in the swampcave, so I’m wearing a pair of sweat pants and a tshirt. I walked out on my back porch dressed like that and well, brrrrr… so I now have my fluffy robe handy for when I do that again.

You leave them open? I guess the neighbors are glad ACBG is away for a while, then.

I took Maggie Wonderbeagle to the dogpark. We go to see a Minpin assault a Rottweiler. I have fish stew cooking tonight, and chili tomorrow.

taxi, I like the airplane ornament on the big tree.

rigs, of course we missed you. Is that paper done yet?

DB, I wear fleece lined shoes to games. And sweatshirts under the jersey under the jacket with the gloves and the scarf. It gets kinda cold down by the ice.

I thought about getting some crickets for the lizards, but I’m afraid they would keep Mr. SCL awake. Either that or jump on me in my sleep and make me jump out of bed in hysterics. I can’t stand the feel of cricket feet on me. Ew.

I’m sleepy and I have a sore throat. I think a hot bath and an early bedtime are in order.

Monster Factory goes to a few of the craft shows we’ve attended. They make awesome stuffed toys. She bought Reggie for the Husbands- he ‘likes lifting heavy objects, and midnight pizza snacks’.

OQD and Husband will arrive tomorrow at noon, and hit the ground eating. We’re hoping for lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, and snack. Indian, Vietnamese, fusion with good cake. I have the Toronto Life restaurant guide out. Yum.

i’m with you on being cold, SCL. Alas, I live where we have real winter now; so I just broke down and got myself a pair of real shearling boots. (Not Uggs, I refuse to pay extra for the name!) I don’t care if I look dumb wandering around the house in my flannel PJs over my long undies with my wool socks, and wrapped in my electric blanket while I’m working – hey, the floors in this house are COLD – just ask palebunny, she didn’t believe me this house was so uncomfortable till she felt it in outside temps below about 45°, but she’s a True Believer™ now! I wish I could even wear slippers when I’m working, but I need to be able to feel the foot pedal that I use to run my equipment, which even though it’s nice and large still isn’t designed to work with shod feet, alas. And I just got an electric blanket for my bed, too – gotta love those post-Christmas sales! – and just finished putting it on my bed, so the cat is going to have a lovely surprise tonight. We’ll count it as her Christmas present.

I actually dress warmer at home now in the winter than I do when I go outside. Not that it’s actually gotten cold yet or anything. Palebunny doesn’t believe me that it actually snows here. But she really needs to see the dogs out romping in the yard when it snows – I’ll try and take pics, it’s utterly hilarious!

And now off to digest my yummy dinner. Lightly broiled scallops, yumm…

Speaking of snow, everything was white around my house this morning. Five miles west, though, there wasn’t any snow. Most of it is melted off, but there are still some spots of snow in the grass.

I just got home from work and the grocery store. I picked up the fixings for my famous prime rib soup. I should start that soon. It’ll be good eats tomorrow, I tell you what.

I am still sorely lacking in the energy department. Other than that, no big shakes around our household. I came in to see a friend of my daughter’s and the friend’s brother here. I guess they’ve been here all day. I’m thinking they should be heading home, soon, I hope. I like to come home to a quiet house. Is that selfish?

taxi - I assume the redhead is KeithT? He looks a little like a young Dave Foley

So I was watching “Best Commericials of 2006” hosted by Kevin Nealon. My favorite of the bunch, even tho there were several I liked, has got to be this one

Rigs, undecoration doesn’t have to be done until after the Epiphany, as per Navamom’s rules. Which combines nicely with living in places where people undecorate before New Year’s… you can buy discounted stuff and put it up before you even start undecorating!

Drae, I like how your roomie’s brother’s mind works.

taxeeeeeeeeeeeee! HI! I’m emailing, I like wedding pics. Don’t like weddings, though, but that’s mostly because people seem to think I’m my mother’s… attachment. They sit me with her in a table where she’s the second-youngest person, instead of at my cousins’ tables. Last wedding, when we got the phone call inviting us I explained that I wasn’t going unless I got a table with an average age below 50.

Well, VWife talked to our Christmas trip host. We’re not PNGed, even Maddy, but we’ve decided Maddy is not traveling ever again. All are in agreement over how much of an obnoxious, self-centered little bitch (all contexts of that word apply) she is.

Happy news: I leave work at lunchtime to pick up the VunderKind at the airport.

Yay for the Vunderkind visit Bobbio. This is his first visit to the new VunderDigs right?

This is especially for MBG. I’m enjoying a buttery bacony greasy bacon, egg and cheese croissant this morning. Just thought I’d let you know. :stuck_out_tongue:

Has anyone stepped up for next week? Will Lemm accept my invitation?

Well, since swampy is been remiss in his duties, let me take up that gavel.
Anybody in favor of Lemmie doing the MMP next week, say AYE!

AYE!
Anybody against, say NAY!

crickets
The ayes have it.

Hey, The Dope had a database screw up. Hope this post works.

Got the siding fixed yesterday. I think. It lasted a week last time, so we’ll see.

And I’m getting the monster shed this weekend, either tomorrow or Friday. I have to go get a building permit for it today. But my boss is out this morning, and RoundBoy has taken two (blessed, quiet) days off, so I’m not sure when I’ll have a chance to run over to the Hooterville (not NC) Permit and Farm Extension Office to get it.

Oh, SURE. Make the NEW kid do it! Okay, okay–I guess it’s better than anything involving squid and goats.

I will do my best.

You’ll do great Lemmie. See, here’s how it works. If somebody does not step forward and volunteer, then we [del]railroad[/del] elect a cool kid to start the next week’s MMP. Since Monday is a holiday, you can start it later in the morning if’n ya want. Otherwise, the MMP is expected to be up by six A.M. ummm… my time.

Yay! We have a [del]victim[/del] volunteer!

Did we lose Lib? Is he going to come back and play with us?

You know, I should really be doing the laundry right now. Also, yesterday I threw out a bowlful of chocolate and candy from last Christmas, and refilled it with stuff from this year. I also issued a solemn mandate to Mr. Lissar and Driving Husband that they must eat candy this year. Is anyone else overwhelmed by random boxes of candy around Christmas?
