It isn’t raining…but it soon will be
Anytime the people in N. Europe want to have a break from springtime, you’re welcome down here in the south, where summer has arrived. It’s 93F/34C at the moment, and the predictions for the next few days are delightful: a lot of 40s and 41s. (40C=104F) Keep in mind that this is a poor country and air conditioning is far from universal. It’s pretty miserable.
West L.A.
It’s warm, but it’s eased off considerably now that we’re gettign some cloud cover from the ocean.
Still no rain, dammit!
It’s hot, humid, and mostly sunny, with monstrous thunderstorms that pop up out of no-where.
I see sun. Actual sun!
I have been converting some of those temps and I just have to say EEEEEEK!
Auckland, New Zealand goes from about 46 (BRRRR winter) to 86 (bloody hell it’s hot!). Though it rains a fair bit, after reading some of your unpleasantly hotness, I think I live in perfect temperature land!
HOT! Highs in the 90’s, with no letup in sight
Yesterday was 99F. We had a good rain once over a week ago. It made no lasting difference though, and the crops are going beyond stressed to dying. We may have rain today finally. We’ve been short rain all year. About 2/3 of the apples dropped out of the trees in the last couple weeks.
a girlfriend was in vegas to get married on july 7 (that 7-7-7 thing). she said it was 116 degrees F. in the shade.
here in the circle city (indianapolis, indiana), it will be 93 today. lovely.
Forecast high today in Houston, Texas: 88 F (31 C)
We’ve had more than a month of rain in Texas, with severe flooding in some parts of the state. Last Friday afternoon, a quick downpour filled our bayous & turned some traffic interchanges into rivers. Then the rain moved on–Houston drains pretty quickly. No fatalities–daytime flooding leaves a bunch of guys standing around their submerged vehicles, ready to rescue any newcomers who don’t realize that trucks can float. For a little while.
Projected highs for the next week are 90 F & lower, with more rain. Grass is growing wild, mushrooms springing up & frogs are singing all night. Hot weather annuals are mildewing & mosquitos lurk.
Yes, it’s humid. But I prefer humidity with these temperatures to “it’s a dry heat” as the temps soar above 100 F.
Philadelphia is supposed to get up to 99 degrees today. The humidity is already atrocious.
Ugh.
And it didn’t rain yesterday and so far today is wet free
Where in sunny Manc are you?
I have two weather reports:
In North Carolina (which I’m back in), it’s 90-ish and humid – typical July weather.
But last week in Montana it was about 100 and cloudless skies. Perfect weather for floating around in a chilly glacier lake, which is what I was doing. It was six kinds of awesome.
But those sustained temps in the West mean a bad fire season, which has already started, so here’s wishing you western kids some rain soon.
It was 35C and near 100% humidity in Toronto yesterday: the usual summer heat. It rained for about 20 minutes yesterday afternoon and then the wet roads and wet dead grass (from the previous dry spell) just steamed up into the air. It was like being in a high-school locker room just after the football team had showered. Blech.
I stayed in my nice cool apartment.
Wet free? Are you sure we’re in the same Manchester?
I’m across the road from the Man City stadium.
Dearborn is over 92 for 2nd day in a row. We have wet heat. Deoderant lasts about 12 seconds.
About an hour ago it got black as night and poured and lightninged. Now it’s brighter but I think in the 80s. Tomorrow will be 90s.
I just hope the electricity is back on at home since it went out from the rain this morning.
Well, it wasn’t too bad here today in L.A. county—cooled down earlier than usual and we got a cloud cover which probably indicates a monsoon…?
We’ll take any relief we can get from the recent triple digits.
Yup it was very nice today in Lancaster. I was actually a little cold last night.
Well actually I live on the borders in Hale and we had no rain yesterday (Monday).
Aint you the lucky one living so near to the team I hold dear
