I’m sorry. I didn’t think to bring a ladder.

So my new phone arrived last night. I was getting sick of the bugs in the Treo 680 that was killing its battery. Plus, its camera sucked even for quick snapshots and it had a tendency to crash every now and then. So, owing to an excellent deal I got, especially because it was sold for someone who works for my cell carrier, and he was able to offer an in-store one-year warranty, I picked it up spur-of-the-moment like. In anticipation of its arrival I bought a memory card, because it takes miniSD, and I don’t have any miniSD cards. I bought a Sandisk card, one of those 3-in-1 cards that have one MicroSD cards with a miniSD adapter and a regular SD adapter.

Well bugger me if the damn thing doesn’t work. (The card, not the phone; that works beautifully) I tried everything to format that card – 3 different phones, my computer, my PDA, and my digital camera – and nothing would touch it.

Stupid thing. It was only $15, but now I have to take it back and exchange it for a regular miniSD with just a regular SD adapter, and since I bought it at a place that’s kind of out of the way, it’s a pain in the butt.

Ugh, chicken pox. I got them when I was 18. Great Og, that was a nightmare. I went through two bottles of calamine lotion and still itched like blazes, and I was traumatized to notice that chicken pox have utterly no shame whatsoever, because they erupted everywhere. Every-fucking-where. Even there. For an 18-year-old, newly-minted man, this is the sort of thing counseling is made for.

Chicken pox are concentrated pustules of fermented evil.

Civic duty completed yet another day. And groceries bought. And doggies let out. And van driven, to keep the squirrels from eating the wires. I stopped at Bob Evans because I was starving and I didn’t want to grocery shop in that state. I had a bowl of veggie beef soup and a small chef salad. Glad I didn’t get the big salad - I had plenty, and it was very yum.

I bought a bunch of stuff that I probably should cook/prep/whatever - like the cukes for the cuke-onion salad, and the soy sauce for the fajita marinade I made for **FCD ** the other night (he declared it yum) and the baby bello mushrooms that were on sale so now I need to decide what I’m going to do with them. And the dishwasher needs to be emptied. And I should probably vacuum. And stuff.

But for now, I’m going to surf a bit, then maybe pay some bills. woo and hoo

Just finished my turkey sandwich. Yum! That is the best part of making turkey for dinner.
I’m looking around the house right now trying to figure out how I’m going to move all this stuff, essentially by myself. I’ll have to keep reminding myself that this was all my bright idea anyhow. I still have plenty of time, and we’re just closing this house up, so it’s not like I’ll be really pressed. But it’s going to be a matter of what stays until the last minute. I’ll have to make a chart.
Jim wants to go to the Habitat For Humanity Re-Store this weekend, after hearing so much about it. Anyone else ever been to one?
I also see a giant yard sale in the spring coming. I’m thinking the piles like that show did, Keep, Trash, Sell.

I got chicken pox when I was five years old. I brought it home and shared it with my sisters. (Hey, Sesame Street told me sharing is good!) Art Sister was twelve. She had it rough, but she got over it pretty quickly. Dr. Sister was fifteen. She still hasn’t forgiven me. I keep telling her it’s her own fault for not catching it sooner, but she won’t listen to reason. :wink:

Howdy! I snuck home for a bit. I gotta get back to inshurncin’ soon cause I got a couple appointments later this afternoon. I like the idea of gettin’ out sometimes for a break in the middle of the day though.

Well, I’ve put away the groceries and organized a messy shelf in the pantry. I think I know what I’m going to make for supper. I wrote a thank-you note to my MIL for the b-day check they sent. And I walked the doggies. And I finished reading the Uncle Rue Story Guy threads.

Still no vacuuming - oh well. I should probably empty the dishwasher so we have some place to put today’s dirty dishes. And I think I might make some jello.

Not a lot of motivation here. What ya gonna do??

That inspires me. I think I’m going to make some myself. I’ve got pineapple chunks and mandarin oranges too.
I’ve got a lot of varieties of Jello in the pantry, and I’m making pork tonight.
Hmmm… what to combine?

…No, I’m not looking to put pork in the Jello. I’m wondering if I could do a good finishing taste.

I went through my freezer today, which was looking like it was full, and reorganized it. Amazingly, it doesn’t look like I’ll have to throw anything out due to freezer burn, but I do now have room for more now. Which is good, because both Kroger’s and Harris Teeter are having sales on ground beef.

I have been sick all day–tummy troubles, and I’ll leave it there. Ugh and yuck and blech. WTH did it come from? Everyone else is fine.

I went shopping (not so much fun while nauseated) and found some Roman shades. Sadly, they had 2 and I needed 5. Target had no intelligent life form aka help, so I’ll check online. Cover charge for Target today was $115.74. I bought bath towels, wash clothes, kitchen towels, a lamp, and something else which I cannot recall (which tells me I probably didn’t need it).
PALS tomorrow. I should be fine, but I’ve never taken PALS before (Pediatric Advanced Life Support in case you’re interested. I didn’t think so).

Back from Famous Dave’s BBQ - yum! We’d gone to the one in Annapolis and really enjoyed it, so it was nice to find they’d opened one in Waldorf - a mere half hour away.

FCD told daughter she was out of the family for forgetting my birthday. Her response? “Do I still get my check next month??” That’s my girl.

Libby the crazy kitty hasn’t been feeling well - she hasn’t eaten in a couple days and didn’t greet me at the door tail wiggling last night and she didn’t sleep with me in the bed last night. She won’t even take a treat. I am a little worried about her - we shall see when I get home if she ate today. I may try to tempt her with some tuna.

Yuck on the firings and the kitty illness(es. Including MBG’s kitty in there).

I just ordered 5 micro-suede Roman shades (in olive) for the bedroom. Let’s hope they work out, since to send them back etc is a PITA.
Off to soak in hot bath and study PALS. Still snowing outside.

GT I’m seriously thinking about doing the VDay exchange. I think it would be fun. Do you know how many people typically sign up? (Roughly) I would like to send to everyone, but if there’s 100 that won’t work for me, LOL. :slight_smile:
