Homer Simpson is the greatest result of animated shows. He is unique in so many ways, he shows us the way comedy can be twisted to show the real world and real problems. The Simpsons is always fresh, new comedy.
To succeed despite idocy . . . that’s Homer all right!
I love The Simpsons, but it’s not a great episode unless Homer is the primary focus. He’s truly a great character. Despite all of his doltish fumblings, he usually ends up doing the right thing, and he’s got a great heart. He may be too stupid to show it sometimes, but he’s sweet.
I’ve got a D’OH! .wav in every PC I use. Any time Windows generates a critical stop or question, there’s Homer!
When I log off, I hear Homer’s “That’s it, I’m gettin’ outta here… (walking down steps & slamming door)” from the episode where he adopts little Pepe.
sniff
That’s beautiful. I love Homer more than I thought it possible to love anything.
Keep this thread alive!

If Nietzsche was alive to see the Simpsons…he’d most definetly recognize Homer as the Ubermensch…someone that we should all strive to be, but never achive that goal.
Yeah he does rock.
Remember when I took that home wine making course and I forgot how to drive?
You were drunk!
And how!
And other classic favorites, such as…
Oh, Marge. I’m not gonna lie to you. So long!
I saw this in a movie about a bus that had to speed around the city, keeping its speed over fifty. And if its speed dropped, the bus would explode! I think it was called… “The bus that couldn’t slow down.”
I am officially a loser for copying out all those quotes. :o
Let me make this perfectly clear: I thought the cop was a prostitute.
It’s paraphrased because I’m the loser who didn’t copy the quote.
Sometimes I can relate to Homer. I have been known to make my wife angry and not really know why. Sometimes I get frustrated and react similar to the way he does. (Remember the candy machine incident? I did the same, except I didn’t get my arm stuck). I also say D’oh!, except I started before the Simpsons began airing up here in Canada. In fact, I got the nickname Homer in college due to my use of Homer’s favorite word, as well as my insatiable appetite for donuts. Ultimately, he is a character almost everyone can relate to in some fashion, which is why he remains so popular.
I don’t think Homer’s last name is Simpson, but I think he appreciates your sentiments. You rock Tim!!

(Marge discovers a family of opposums living in the fire extinguisher of the monorail Homer drives)
Homer: “I call the big one ‘bitey.’”
It’s funny in SO MANY ways!
“Getting out of jury duty is easy. The trick is to tell them you’re prejudiced against all races.”
Awww, you guys are sweet.

Moving this to MPSIMS.
The Ultimate in Homer quotes, capable of being used anytime, anywhere, for any reason, to anybody, under any circumstances…
“It’s a ring toss.”
(Don’t say you were at a bar.) It’s a pornography store. I was buying pornography.
If I’m wrong, let us all be horribly crushed from above somehow.
I guess we’ll be going down togeth- I mean, getting off togeth- er
(The amusing-in-retrospect thing is that I’ve done the last line unintentionally. It was quite an embarrassing situation.)
