Hopin' for world peace in the MMP

flyboy, hope your car decision works out best for you.

nellie, glad you are feeling good today; listen to Unknown though and don;t push it too hard. And your eyes working better is good news too.

Sunny, mayo on hot dogs? I do subscribe to the European way and have mayo with my French fries, but I just can’t see it working with hot dogs…to each their own, I reckon.

Been using PC’s all my life, at work and at home, and haven’t been tempted to try Apples at all.

Have exercised by moving weights and pushing pedals for 9 miles, so will rest a bit and then have sammiches for dinner (was supposed to be early meal, but I forgot to take the bread out of the freezer, so had my Mac-n-Cheese early).

The various dogs would be going crazy here, the invisible mole people are now visible digging holes all along the street (I think I get mine tomorrow) for the water adn electric departments. Long as they put the dirt back in…

OK< time for Pardon the Interruption my one must-see TV of the afternoon.

This was supper - with the addition of sliced sweet onion because everything is better with onions! Well, maybe not ice cream… Anyway, it was pretty good. For such a small amount of red pepper flakes, tho, my mouth is on fire. Still, pretty tasty.

Shortly, I’ll load the dishwasher, then hard-core chillage shall ensue.

SIL will start making Firday his day off, plus his work is closed on Moanday, so I’ll have Toby T-W-T every week - so now I can plan accordingly.

shoe, not folding (and putting away) unders would aggravate OCD big time. They are now folded and put away.

bumba, I have some Bullitt rye and some George Dickel in the cabinet, but if I applied enough to do any good, I would be drunk off my @$$ till this was over.

Yay for improvement nellie!

Unders are folded and put away, some soup et (gotta eat with the Tamiflu) and Nelson taken out. I’m knackered.

I don’t do ketchup on much of anything. My mom used to make homemade and I’ve never found a commercial one that I actually liked. I rarely eat hot dogs (usually at the ball park), but when I do, they usually get mustard and sweet relish on them. On the Mac / PC debate, I’ve used mostly PCs in my career and never had the urge to make the switch. Working in the phone biz, I know that Apple can be a PITA to deal with in reference to repairs.

Off to snooze in front of TV before bed. :stuck_out_tongue:

As a retired drain on society, its your responsibility to give the visible mole people something to tell their partners. They have a routine job, they just dig holes, do things and fill holes. You need to go out and welcome them. Offer water and coffee. Ask how deep they are going to dig, ask how often it’s been dug up before, ask how many bodies they’ve dug up, stick your head in the hole to look at the layers of dirt that your yard is made of and discuss the layers. Trust me, they love that sort of thing, you will give them a funny story to tell for years to come!

Howdy Y’all! I made a post this mornin’ but apparently did not post said post. Oh well… We have returned from stuffin’ our faces with pancakes, bacon, and snausages. A good crowd showed up which was great to see bein’ as we have not done this in two years due to the plague. This is a fundraiser for what we call the Priest and Deacon discretionary fund to assist with things needed in the community such as help with utility bills, groceries, clothing, and all that kind of stuff. We have neither Priest or Deacon at the moment but the need goes on, so the Senior and Junior Wardens handle this in the interim. It looks like we made some good moolah judgin’ from the amount of ten and twenty dollah bills I saw. We don’t charge, so all monies gained are from donations. Some money was donated up front from a few folks to help handle costs and I know not all that money was used, so whatever was given tonight is gravy. Yay for that.

OK, I have read all but I did not retain. I promise to do better tomorrow.

Uh, I guess I should have checked here before going on the walk so I coild have seen the warnings. Honestly, though, I did great! My sister called just as I started out, and before I knew it, I’d walked five miles! Except for one tiny area on the right side that I think is a muscle, ZERO pain! The left side has been the problem side, and it feels great! I’m very relieved.

flyboy, sounds like a good call on the car.

MetalMouse, wow! Nine miles! [applauds wildly]

swampy, it warms my heart to know the pancake supper netted so much, and I love that you don’t charge. Now I want pancakes.

Re: french fries, the best I ever had were at a popular restaurant in a very small town in Wyoming–hand cut, fried to tender crispiness on the outside, mealy perfection within, and served with the restaurant’s famous chunky bleu cheese dressing on the side. You could ask for catsup, but even catsup lovers never did. Sooo yummy.

So these hot dogs, with or without ketchup. How are you cooking them? For me they ought to be grilled. As a pale second choice, done on a hot griddle. If’n you’re boiling them, GTFO.

I’ve got a couple of days off from the stooopid high school musical, until I’ll be required to be artistic and shit and do a whole lot of wood graining painting stuff. So I can now actually do the other part of my jobs. The project seems to be growing as the finish date gets closer and closer. I’m gonna have to turn down money, I just don’t have the time to do it all.

nellie Glad to hear the back is doing well! I haven’t walked 5 miles in a continuous stretch in I don’t know how long, but I probably get that distance in the shop on the regular, round and round 8’ long tables.

shoe Here’s some pearls fer the mayo comment.

flyboy I agree on keeping the car. Best of luck.

You’re good people. I haz a teary, knowin’ that there’s still good peepz out there in the world.

Those must’ve been some SERIOUS fries. If - for some god-unluvin-reason - I’m ever in Wyoming, I will hit you up for the name of this place.

Happy Mardi Gras, everyone.

I made jambalaya, and I made cornbread yesterday. Carb-friendly? Not! But it’s good. I took some nextdoor to our part-time neighbour. Didn’t know his wife was with him. Oh, well. If they want more, we have more.

Two shots of Jack, and some wine.

Work went well, got things done. Made Redneck stirfry for dinner tonight.

And I’m Team PC and Team Okra.

This.

“I wanna touch danger noodle.” - Monkey

Y’all need Jesus.

Definitely. Mayo and cheese and jalapeños. Or mayo and Sriracha. Or cheese and jalapeños.

It’s a barely-acceptable call on the car. I expected better from USAA.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

You’re evil!!! :smiling_imp:

I was awakened by alarm at 6, so it’s a good thing I set it, huh? Luckily, my daughter is running late, too. Waiting now for her to leave.

Not sure what today’s plans are, apart from babby. I dusted and vacuumed yesterday, and there’s not enough dirties for laundry. I will empty the dishwasher. I think supper will be foraging among leftovers. That sums it up.

Happy Wednesday! Get ashy if that’s your thang!

other than dodger stadium and Costco and the long-gone cone palace in Kokomo in this is the only place I’ve ever eaten hot dogs from

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 38 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 82 and N.O.S. for the day. The high temps over the next few days are mid to upper 80s. Looks like we have Spring with a smatterin’ of Summer. Weather in the southern U.S.ofA. be weird! Today is Ash Wednesday so we shall go get ashed this evenin’ over to the church house. I have Verge duty and am proud to report the place is now all Lentified. I have no idea what sup will be. Maybe we’ll get some fish from Long John Silver’s. That would not hurt my feelin’s at all. Oh and we shall procure provisions today.

red glad you’re startin’ to be on the mend. Underwear must be folded before bein’ put away. We are, after all, a civilized society!

Nellie yay on way less pain and the prognosis from the eye doc!

flyboy sorry for all the car woes. I think you made the right decision.

I see I am surrounded by heathens who will do anything to a hotdawg includin’ * shudder * ketchup and mayo! * shudder * Oh, sunny Miracle Whip is Satan’s snot.

VanGo grilled is the only way to cook a dawg. To do elsewise is uncivilized, uncouth, and will cause the clutchin’ of pearls and the swoonin’ upon faintin’ couches.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas and bother, since I am to be amongst the public I suppose I shall purtify and don appropriate attire. Woe!

Happy Hump Day Y’all! A blessed and Holy Lent to those who observe.

Good morning everyone.

It’s currently around 45 degrees and damp. Rain is supposed to move in again later today, but it’s not supposed to have the intensity it’s had for the last couple of days.

I have the ass with Amazon. I have a package that has been bouncing around between Sea-Tac and Sumner since Saturday. I am well within my rights to cancel, especially since the package was supposed to be delivered on Sunday. However, I want that package, damn it! Later today, I will check tracking again, and if it hasn’t moved from Sumner as of this morning, I will cancel. The carrier is Amazon; not UPS, not anyone else. I am beginning to wonder why I pay for Amazon Prime as more and more packages are “delayed”. Two days my big butt…

Work ended on a sour note yesterday. Last spring, through our contracting branch, we rented a CONEX. I was to use my government purchase card to pay the monthly bill. We rented from Company A. In August, I started receiving a bill from Company B for that CONEX because it had purchased Company A. Contracting officer said I couldn’t pay that bill because they had to complete a novation on that contract now due to the fact that our contract was with Company A and not Company B. She was doing the right thing, but still. Oooooookaaay. Week after week I’d check on the status and it was at OGC. Yesterday, at my office, I received a letter from a lawyer for the company threatening legal action since we hadn’t paid the bill for seven damn months (even though we turned it in at the end of September). As you might imagine, irritation did not even begin to describe my reaction to seeing that letter. I emailed everyone; contracting, budgeting, my boss, and let them know that I found this unacceptable. This is the kind of BS I deal with on an almost daily basis. Unfortunately for me, everyone that needed to see that email is on the East coast didn’t see the email. I will be on the damn phone first thing this morning when I log in.

The husband finally set up his new BIPAP yesterday. It’s definitely much quieter, but he got up several times during the night, so apparently, he’s not comfortable. He said it feels weird, and I would guess so since his last mask was bigger and wasn’t properly sealing anymore. I think he needs to adjust settings, but we’ll see. He fought me on following directions anyway, so all I can do is roll my eyes and walk away.

So, hot dogs. As a kid for American hot dogs, I liked mayo, ketchup, mustard, and sweet relish on them. As an adult, I rarely eat them and that’s how I continue to eat them. For proper sausages or German-style hot dogs, I like Bavarian sweet mustard and sour kraut. Sometimes just the sweet mustard.

Nellie, I’m so glad your back feels better. That is such good news!

Well, I need a third cup of coffee today. I already know it’s going to be a long one.

Afternoon, mumpers! It’s a grey and drizzly day over here and I am not happy about the fact I’m on campus with the prospect of a long commute home on public plague transport with added wet stuff falling from the sky.

Glad to hear everyone’s good news, I could do with some! A friend’s husband passed away a couple of days ago, he had been ill for some time and reached the point where he decided to stop treatment which was a tough decision for him and a hard one for her to deal with. Whilst we are relieved the suffering is over, the living goes on. I have a card to send to her, and a group of us have sent flowers as well. Nothing much else we can do for now.

Nut get on with that essay!!

Hot dogs are fine grilled, but the best method is steamed, with a steamed poppyseed bun. This is Chicago, dang it! Mooooom, that casserole looked delish.

Hugs to you BooFae. I’m sorry for your loss.

I’m beginning to feel halfway human again. I slept for a couple of 3+ hour stretches last night, so didn’t wake up as tired as I went to bed. I may even wash up the mugs and glasses sitting in the sink today. For that to sound ambitious is pitiful, I know.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!
