One of these days, Mahaloth is going to run a game where everyone dies on Night 1 and he declares himself the winner.

As as I said yesterDay, it seems stronger than ever that some scum (like Pleonast) was trying to save Ushimi there at the end of Day One.

I tried to kill Chipacabra last night, so barring a redirection to Wanderers or Mental Guy and someone else also trying to kill Chipacabra, his blood is on my hands. Sorry Chip.
I also had to choose sides before posting to the thread Today, and I chose Town. So I’ll be over here looking for scum as a functional Vanilla to the best of my ability as long as I’m around.

Were you forced to kill last Night, or was that your choice?
Were you told you needed to choose sides before or after you submitted your action?
I don’t even know where to start. Right now I’ll just lay it down and say ushimi is my prime suspect due to the 1st day voting.

Your defense of Pleonast.
I was not forced to kill last Night. I submitted my orders at 1:23 am Pacific on 1/28. I was told I needed to choose sides at 7:54am Pacific on 1/29, an hour and 6 minutes prior to Mahaloth’s opening death reveal of the Morning. At that time I was told that “a town player had died in the Night”, apparently in order to make a more informed choice.
But as I was asleep until about 12:15pm Pacific, I saw that there were actually 3 dead Townies before making my choice. I chose Town because a) I said I would b) I feel I owe the Town my allegiance for killing one of the Town Masons c) with 3 killed in one night, everyone loves the underdog.

Why did you decide to use your one-time kill last Night? Yesterday you said

I begin to wonder if Pleonast, Story, and Ushi aren’t all three together here. **
I was suspicious of Chip, and had Pleo not behaved as he did yesterday, my vote would have stayed on Chip. I thought there was a decent chance that I’d be killed sooner than later and should use the kill before losing it.
OK, so:
1. @Meeko - I didn’t defend Pleonast. I attacked the decision to lynch him, which I still view as poor play that wound up having a good result.
2. I still think ushimi is more likely to be Town than Scum, based on his Day One behavior, but the fact that said behavior has cooled down almost entirely since then is of interest.
3. Buffy’s partner (it’s Angel, right? It’s gotta be Angel) should claim immediately, if not sooner. I am not Angel, nor Buffy’s partner.
4. Once Angel has claimed, our alignment Detective (I think we probably have one) should give careful thought to claiming. If (s)he has reads on two players who are: (1) still alive; and (2) not Masons, (s)he should probably claim.
5. I wish to claim. My name is Albus Dumbledore, member of the Order of the Phoenix and all around awesome guy. Mahaloth did not specify, but since I prefer the Richard Harris version of Professor D I am assuming I’m that one. I am a Jack of All Trades. I had four powers to start the game, each one-shot only. One of them was to Track. On Night One I Tracked Pleonast and saw him act on Cookies. I was terribly excited. When Pleo began to get a bit of pressure, I held quiet and hoped I could supply useful information about his potential truth or falsity if he eventually claimed. As it turned out, my information was utterly useless. Last Night I did nothing.
I have three powers remaining. I’ll reveal what they are if there’s a compelling reason, but they’re not going to set anyone’s world on fire.
So. There it is.
Oh, and I really REALLY am having a hard time believing that Cookies chose to be Town.
