Hotel of Heroes mafia

Go Town!!!

storyteller, I’m just wondering what the advantage of revealing you have powers are if you don’t reveal what they are

Why? I was exposed when unaligned, which is not the same thing as being exposed Scum, motivationally speaking.

Pleo had his chance to try and recruit me (and potentially keep himself from being lynched, I think) by withholding some of the information he’d learned about me, and he didn’t do that.

Snubbed and exposed by Scum, working with the Town in public was on my short list of options, and that is the route I have taken.

Vote Storyteller I think you’re trying to distract the Town with me so that other discussions don’t take place.

I propose that everyone play like my lynch today is a given, and go looking for scum elsewhere. If my being lynched ends up being how everyone wants the lynch to go down come the end of the Day, that’s fine and dandy, but I’m not going to waste the Town’s time defending myself further, and I don’t think the rest of the Town should waste their time distracted with me either. Absolutely everything I have to share is on the table already, aside from my analysis of other people’s posts and actions.

I missed Story’s claim, but the convenience of tracking known scum and giving us information that we already have doesn’t really incline me to remove my vote at this time.

I don’t know what to make of all that Cookies revealed, so right now she’s just a big question mark for me. And while Storyteller has made some bad choices in his defending, I wouldn’t really be ready to lynch him for it.

did you breadcrumb this information in any way, shape, or form?

I am Angel. I had already discussed it with chip to auto claim when one of us died. There are no other masons.

(I had claimed earlier, but edited it out when I realized it wasn’t daytime yet.)

Also, I do not believe the detective should claim. I have reason to suspect that his role is cop/princess.

Red Skeezix’ Post 795, made just after the 2nd ‘false start’, was edited, so that seems to support his claim.

I can vouch for Red Skeezix’s earlier claim as I saw it briefly before he deleted/edited it.

I think a mass claim is necessary now as there is some correlation between names and alignment. I’m Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games and I’m Vanilla Town. Most of the names I recognized except for my own. If anyone wants to learn more about the character, you can go to Wikipedia here.

Can you explain what a princess role is?

By your own account, by the time you made the final decision you knew that three more Town players, including a Mason, had died in the Night. The Scum are not necessarily winning, but five dead Town vs. one dead Scum is certainly a dead heat at best. If you chose to become Scum, given the game state, you’d dramatically increase your own chances of winning. It’s possible that you made a choice that did not maximize your chances of winning… but don’t try to sell us on it being ridiculous that you’d choose to go the other way, because it’s obviously not.

This, on the other hand, is just silly. My statement about you was one of about seven different things I had to say within two hours of the start of the Day. I have clearly made an effort to start “other discussions.” I am absolutely confident that we can, collectively, both discuss you and discuss other things, unless there’s a post count maximum no one told me about.

Honestly, do you believe that the optimal Town play, faced with a player who admits to being able to choose his/her own alignment, is to literally not discuss that player at all?

Meanwhile:

@Astral: No, I did not breadcrumb. What would the advantage have been? Proving that I tracked Pleonast? I could have done that and been Scum (I obviously wouldn’t have tracked Pleonast, but I’d have know what he did). By the time the Day ended my information was entirely obsolete. I didn’t want to reveal myself until I was ready - and the three Town deaths leading off this Day made me ready.

@skeezix: I have no idea what a Cop/Princess is, and googling the phrase “Mafia Princess” is generating results rather different from what I was seeking. Could you give just a bit more detail on that?

I believe I have now discovered the nature of this role. A Princess role is evidently a role where if the player is killed, the next Day cycle is skipped.

Which, if you’re right, is a hugely swingy role because the death of the Cop will totally screw us over. I hope you’re wrong.

Although if you look at the role composition, and player count, you might see a similarity to another game that Mahaloth ran where there was 18 players, two masons, a JOAT, a scum cop, a player who started the game with no alignment but one kill, etc. (Hint: Harry Potter Mafia). This game is too similar to that one for me to suggest a mass claim at this point, or even any unnecessary claims.

I didn’t say anything about it being ridiculous to think that I could have chosen Scum. I simply asked you to explain why you were “really REALLY” under the impression that that I have chosen and have chosen to go the other way, since it is the wrong assumption. Lynching me will be a mislynch, but I think it is probably inevitable. I’m just trying to underscore that you can always fall back on lynching me at any time, but hashing out whether or not you believe what I have said or spending too much time debating when I should be lynched is going to take time away from hunting scum.

Wolverine: You might find more success floating a proposal for discussion and possibly getting consensus about doing a mass claim before just trotting out your claim.

That’s true but I’ve always been suspicious of people wanting a mass claim and then never claiming themselves. It reeks of fishing to me. Someone needs to go first and if I think mass claims are now necessary than I should be willing to do so.

Vote Ushimistudoki

Nothing has changed from yesterday about Ushi. I was wrong about wanting Pleonast second because now scum has lost their investigator. That trumps any type of logical order I was going on about.

This is beyond me.

First off, as feared we end up with 3 dead town (though admittedly not in the exact way I expected).

Second, I was under the impression we were going to at least try to direct Cookie’s kill. Instead she rolled the dice and killed a Mason (and, assuming you believe **Red Skeezix[\b]'s claim exposed the other). Brilliant play. And we still don’t know her faction.

I’d like to know in simple and exact terms exactly how that ended up being a pro-Town play?

Yes, we got one Scum, a power one at that - but it reads to me like it was more being lucky the player was too busy IRL to come in with a cover story than any brilliant detective work by anyone.

The only thing I gather from that is the early Pleo votes over Cookiesare unlikely to be Scum. So, even though I think their reasoning is idiotic, I don’t think those players are Scum.

Actually, it’s not fair to call it idiotic. It’s so non-existent as to be beyond the bounds of idiocy and right into the arena of making decisions by watching jumping frogs.

When I have time (not today), I’m going back through the exact history of yesterDay’s votes.

Until then, I’m keeping my vote on Cookies.

First off, we should have lynched her yesterDay, and everyone who didn’t is directly responsible for the death of our Mason and the loss of any advantage that would have provided.

Second, I don’t know about how you guys play games, but I don’t join the “underdogs”. If I were unaligned, and just saw 3 Town go down (especially on what I personally consider devastatingly retarded reasoning and therefore wasn’t worried about Town doing the right thing and lynching me), I wouldn’t be exactly chomping at the bit to join Town.

Third, I don’t like her dismissal toDay of any need to discuss her and to assume she’s a lynch. Especially after the lunacy of not lynching her yesterDay. It’s far, far from a given she will be lynched toDay. In fact, I’ll wager she will not be lynched.

Fourth, you know what else I don’t like? She admits to killing Town.

I don’t like storyteller’s partial claim.

I don’t like Wolverine’s or Pants’ reasoning, but I’ve given up on thinking that the quality of reasoning is indicative of faction.

I believe Red Skeezix’s claim, though I realize it’s not confirmed.

I don’t believe Wolverine’s claim, and he is my next choice after Cookies.

Also, did I miss it, or did some people not vote at all yesterDay?

===

That being said, it’s very early in the Day and I want to hear what other people have to say for themselves after lastNight’s debacle.

In the meantime:
