House hunting, a home-sweet-home MMP

Feel better soon, Haze!

Hope the dog feels better soon, doggio. Sick pets suck.

Glad the IV went well, bobbio. And that Mark’s mother was ok.

Unfortunately, my job involves the upstream end of the retail business, so I’ve been seeing xmas stuff for months. By this time, some of my coworkers are on to Valentine’s day. Fortunately, I’m not really involved in that end of the business, but I do see the xmas stuff in August and the Valentine’s stuff now on other people’s desks. It’s weird.

Our cat’s diet is apparently lacking in felt. This morning she was attempting to eat the felt ears off of one of her toy mice. :smack:

I’m definitely feeling better today. My rollator came yesterday and now I’ve got that at work and it’s much easier for me to get around with. The prilosec OTC seems to be helping with several different issues, thankfully.

 My thoughts exactly!

bobbio, love it when there’s a good outcome all around. I sure hope the Domestic Dispute guy is in jail to cool off.

I got an e-mail from my team leader which is making me very uncomfortable. It’s one of those “tell me what you don’t like about me so I can improve” type things. So far I am ignoring it but I have half a mind to go to our HR director with it as it’s not officially sanctioned.

pie, I usually have weirdo dreams when I take OTC pain meds like Advil.

Speaking of meds, I got a scrip for Flexoril to try to alleviate my chronic stiff neck. Anybody else take them?

Tupug

I am feeling much better today. And yesterday the rollator came so I’m at work with that today and it’s much easier for me to get around with at work. The Prilosec OTC seems to be working on several different issues, which is a good thing.

I’m sending out healing vibes to the other sickies amongst us.

Bah. I am at work with a pain in my eye that says I’ve got an ulcer coming. Earliest I can get treatment for it would be tomorrow morning at the horsepistol so I know what I’m going to be doing…

Double bah!

Wouldn’t it be easier to take the spoon out of your cuppa?

Hope all the Mumper sickies are feeling better.

Sounds like a very good run, Bobbio. Glad your buddy’s mom is OK.

Need prayers and good thoughts for little brother’s ex-FIL. He had a major stroke last week and isn’t doing well. Nice nice guy. I’m :frowning: for him.

Off today (well, except a couple of calls in to work) and have successfully taken down Halloween decorations at the park and need to put them in storage in my garage. So I think I’ll spend the afternoon cleaning the garage.

GT

I got the Weird Earl’s nod once again…

I’ve had them before. Are you offering to pass the bottle around?

**BBBobbio **- don’t you want to move to Mechanicsville so you can take care of me some day? I’m a tough stick, but I have one good vein at my right elbow…

Shrimp quesadillas for supper - I’ll start cooking as soon as daughter calls to tell me she’s on the way. There’s the phone now. She’s headed home. I gotta cook. Laterz…

MWAH!!!

So, Herbs did the rollator come in and are you able to get around easier at work? Is the Prilosec otc working out for ya? We’re all anxious to know! :stuck_out_tongue:

BBBobbio interestin’ night. Glad your iv stick went good. Here’s hopin’ Mark’s mom is doin’ ok. So, was DD guy wearin’ a wifebeater? If not, he was definitely out of uniform.

gt good thoughts and prayers headed out to little bro’s ex FIL.

All you other sickies, get better! We need a well MMP.

I did good tonight for dindin. Baked poke chops, green beans, baked sweet N.O.T. and biscuits. I really like havin’ both a conventional and covection oven.

Ok, so I’ve learned an interesting but stupid lesson this evening… Always chew your food thoroughly. We had tacos for dinner and I swallowed a rather pointy bit of taco shell. At first I think it was stuck and now it feels like it gauged out the wall of my esophagus all the way down. Ouch.

I’ve also learned to stay out of TVMan’s way when he is opening Taco Bell sauce packets. Somehow he managed to splatter one all over the table and his coat (on one of the chairs) and a little bit on my coat too.

In other news, I bought some chocolate covered pretzel ice cream and am going to go try it to see if it’s coldness negates some of the taco shell effect.

Seems I forgot to post here this morning. But i couldn’t resist:

*I’ve been from Tucson to Tucumcari
Tehachapi to Tonapah
Driven every kind of rig that’s ever been made
I’ve driven the back roads so I wouldn’t get weighed
If you give me: weed, whites, and wine
And you show me a sign
I’ll be willin’ to be movin’
*
Back to reading the thread…

Wow, Bobbio, you’re making us proud in Weird Earldom!

Brought some plants in and did some other work in the garden and garage. And have been knitting a bit and watching Castle and then Wordplay.

Need to do some more cleaning (because when don’t I?) and organize some laundry that I want to do tomorrow. But I think I’ll do that in the morning.

Tired. Guess I’ll crawl into bed.

Nitey nite!

GT

The first POD is a bit more than 3/4 full now, and the house is getting echo-y.

And that’s without any furniture - so far, it’s all boxes.

Did I re-tell that info?! :smack: D’oh! I’m sorry …

So glad tomorrow is Thursday … will be even happier that the day after is FIRDAY! One thing about heartburn pain is that it definitely makes you think twice about what you eat, especially the amount! I’m still not eating very much, which in my case is a good thing.

Must. Stop. Eating. Halloween Candy.

Aaargh.

I swear, I have zero self-control when it comes to individual servings of candy in bright shiny wrappers. It’s like they scientifically engineer the stuff to be irresistible or something.

Perhaps this is my cue to call it a night. After all, I can’t eat candy while I’m asleep right?

I’m about this color  but not that smily about people who get to watch V pout.

The original wasn’t exactly Heinlein, but a lot of folks who wouldn’t be caught dead reading the Master (“scie… uuugh no thanks”) watched it, which is A Good Thing. I feel the same way about The Matrix.

bobbio, congrats on finding your vein back. I’m glad Mark’s mother wasn’t hurt badly.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. It’s [sub]my[/sub] humpday!

Ok, rumbly tumbly says to go find brekkie, so I shall.

Later Y’all!

A question for the Jewish Mumpers out there: Last night I was redoing the church directory for the concierge notebook* and I got to the synagogue part. One of the synagogues was named Beth Israel. Squirrel AGM noted that there’s always a Beth Israel, but since neither of us is Jewish we didn’t know a)why and b) what it means. Is there a reason or is it the Jewish equivalent of “First (Denomination) Church”?
Since Mr. Arizona* left, there’s been no one at the desk worth talking to. Therefore I’ve made it my project to make information at the desk easy to find and use. Since the new relief night auditor/afternoon lady flaked out on us and quit after a month, it’s just been me and one other person (Lady K) trying to cover all the shifts with help from the other properties in Southeast Altamont Hoteliers***. Tomorrow would be my Firday except I’ve been working six-day weeks the last two with no end in sight.****

**Cute (Former) Coworker has been renamed Mr. Arizona for consistency in naming across Spaz’s Internets.

***I’ve been inspired by Thomas Wolfe, Hippy Hollow’s Reclaimed Son. Rename things in a way that it’s completely obvious who you’re talking about.

****I’ve been picking up the overtime. Not Lady K. This means I’m getting the money. She has a freelance designing job, though.
