House hunting, a home-sweet-home MMP

Actually, I’d Beth-El (house of God) or Emanu-El (God is with us) would be more like the “first” synagogue, since God came before Israel

I’m having one of those moments where I’ve read everything but can’t remember what I was going to comment about. :smack:

So, I’ll just say that I’m glad that tomorrow is Friday and I think it’s time to go look for some dinner.

Oh wait, I just remember that I was wondering why BooFae has to go to the hospital every time that she has an eye problem and can’t go to a doctor’s office instead? Or am I just being a naive American in asking this question? :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m home! And it’s my Firday! Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Also, I’m taking Tuesday off and have Wednesday as a holiday. I’m staggering my days in and out because I need to make sure I keep my eye on the big project we implemented over the weekend.

Ooooh, I remember orange juice + candy canes. Only the candy canes we used weren’t peppermint (they were really sticks and not canes, too). I think we just stuck them in the orange and expected the juice to make its way slowly through the middle. I don’t remember it working very well in my case, at least.

Hope the eye heals up quickly, BooFae. I wondered the same thing, CutiePie. Maybe we’re both naive Americans.

Not sure yet what I want for din din. Maybe I’ll rerun yesterday’s (baby tacos with sour cream and shredded spinach; sweet potato fries - just because I had some in the freezer).

Back later.

been blurfy all week. blurf

Next thing, you’ll be saying that you like it run through a percolator.

You’d fit in well here. We have probably 30 pounds of Maxwell House in the kitchen. (Maybe a two month supply?) DH likes it perked, but it comes out a bit bitter for my taste that way.

*FINALLY *I finished my daughter’s afghan. Whew, what a job it was. She’s laundering it right now. When we block it, I’ll take some pics.

What to knit now?? Probably afghans for Project Linus. That’ll be fun. And quick and easy. But not tonight. I’m taking a break for a few days.

And I think it’s bedtime. MWAH!!

Hmm. Nat has suddenly scaled up (in the last few days) to drinking between six and eight of his sippy cups per day. Thats six to eight cups full of liquid. He wet through Bloody. My kid hit something on the keyboard, and now I do not have an apostrophe key.

Anyway, Ièm having to change him all the freaking time. I note a pleasant Nordic fèèl to my typing. I do not know whatès caused the change, but I really hope he gets over it soon. I îçdonèt^éiç like middle-of-the-night diaper changes.
That was don;t. With an apostrophe.

Also, boy names. I am doomed to be vastly outnumbered.

I came home and feel asleep. Since my Mumper friends have not stepped up to the plate, I’m now laundering and mancleaning. There is a frost warning tonight, since we turned the thermostat down so the Maple Leafs feel comfortable when they come to town tomorrow for the Fail Bowl.

LiLi, just døn’t carve yøur initials intø a møøse, they bite. Børk! Børk! Børk!:stuck_out_tongue:

swampy, I just get the regular coffee at Bruegers. They even have a bottomless mug for $129(I’ll save that miuch in 2 weeks :D).

bolding mine

Your bolding made me actually LOL, Pie. That would be baby as in little, not as in cannibalistic. :p:D

I’ve accomplished remarkably little this evening. And now I’ma fall asleep.

Hugs.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN

gotti regular ol’ coffeemaker here. I do drink percolated coffee when I’m at mom’s though. I like it but the coffeemaker takes like four minutes to make coffee and I’m all about bein’ in hurry for the mornin’ caffienation.

doggio $129 for an endless cup o’ coffee is not a bargain. :stuck_out_tongue:

LiLi so I take it another boy type baby is on the way.

Ok, time for brekkie accordin’ to rumbly tummy.

Happy Firday!

ETA: First on Four!!!

You’re not naive at all and it’s a perfectly valid question, in fact I asked my GP the same thing! The reason is that I have a condition called ulcerative keratitis and it’s very serious - aside from the tiny ulcerations in my eye, it can cause all sorts of other problems so I need to see an eye specialist from the start because they need to establish that there’s nothing else nasty going on in there.

My GP is perfectly capable of diagnosing an ulcer and prescribing exactly the same treatment as the hospital, but it must be followed up by a consultation with an opthalmologist because recurring ulcers can lead to corneal weakening and blindness.

Personally I think they do it so that every time I get an ulcer they can lecture me about eyelid hygiene and stuff!

In other news, the heating engineer is coming round this morning because we have no hot water at home. You can imagine the howls of disbelief when I ran a bath last night and found it was cold…

A møøse once bit my sister…

oooOOOO, you got the ultrasound? Glad to know everything’s in working order

I’m typing at the library, so UK keyboard, which means I have to retype every ; and : because they’re in a different place than on the Spanish keyboard.

A cow once kissed my brother’s ass, he was 9 at the time. We were in a small village, watching the running of the cows (which were pretty pacific as fighter cows go, the village didn’t have the budget for the fiercest ones) sitting on top of an embankment. One of the cows calculated that she might be able to run out of the enclosed area via the enbankment, my brother managed to turn around but not to run away on time - but the slope was too vertical for the cow to do anything, she just went up it, smooched my brother’s bum and slid back down. So when he was a teen and people asked “are you going to the run?” he’d say “no thanks, a cow kissed my ass when I was 9 and I reckon there’s no need to provoke one into giving me a hug.”

I think I’d like to buy your brother a beer or 3.

I don’t wanna go to work.

Aw hell. Just missed my bus too. I don’t suppose that’s a valid excuse to just stay home for the rest of day, is it?

(What’s that you say? There’s another perfectly good bus coming along in 15 minutes? Goodness me, what an unfair place this world is.)

Call the boss and say you aren’t going to be there because you have an eye problem.

You couldn’t see yourself going to work today.

HAPPY FIRDAY!

If it’s any consolation I didn’t wanna go to work this morning either. But then that’s no different from any other day. I console myself with the fact that IT’S FIRDAY. That always makes the day more tolerable. It’s also payday, but since I have to put money into the credit cards and other bills, it doesn’t feel so much like my payday.
Had company over last night. Went out to eat at a nice little joint in Mississauga called Peter’s on Eglinton. It used to be a Jon Anderson’s but has since become a very nice restaurant/deli whose food is good and whose portion sizes often make one ask the waiter, “Just how many of me do you think will be eating this?” Their specialty is pastrami on rye, and honest to Og, they’re piled so high they could charge extra just for the view. Damn things could choke a giraffe. I saw an elderly couple order; the man had liver an onions while the wife, a mere slip of a thing, had the spaghetti dinner. I almost had to laugh when I saw the heaping pile they brought her: An extra-large dinner plate with a veritable mountain of pasta. She seemed bewildered, like she didn’t quite know what to make of it. The poor thing hunted around it with her fork for a few moments as if mapping out notable landmarks in case she got lost, or perhaps looking for a safe place to land when she ran out of gas.

Gotti - Admittedly I have briefly considered those T-disc-taking individual-serve coffee makers, but I came to two conclusions: 1) T-discs are expensive for what you get, and 2) I’m not a coffee snob. I have an ordinary (though carafe-less) coffee maker, and I get my beans ground at the store in small batches to preserve freshness. That’s about as far as take it. Sure, I enjoy the odd frou-frou Second Cup coffee/latte/tea, but I’m good with home brewed ordinary stuff too. I don’t like instant though, and I’ve no idea what percolation does for coffee that would make it any different, and anyway I like the way it’s normally done just fine.

Bah. Need to do some actual work now.

Morning all. Tomorrow will be my Firday, since I finally(hopefully) get a day off.

swampy, that’s a bottomless mug for a whole year. :buzzed smiley:

WOW! Did we have a storm last night!! It only lasted for about 10 minutes but it made me think I’d been transported back to the midwest. The hail ripped through one window screen. The truck had almost 2 inches of hail on it.

The lights went out. The kitties freaked, especially Maxx.

We realized that we need to find battery back up for hubby’s *nose hose. He can’t sleep without it. I have one too, but I can sleep without it. Of course no one else in the neighborhood can.
