House S.4 premiere 9/25

But he protested at first, which I took as a send-up of that complaint about the show. (And House wouldn’t pay him, which is why Wilson had to come along)

I hated the ducklings. By the end of last season I could barely stand them. Cameron most especially, I found her completely and totally irritating right from the get go. Foreman and Chase I could handle for the most part, but their shtick was getting old, too.

Apparently, they are all going to be back next week

I would prefer a team free House, at least for a while, but if it is not to be then at least a new team will be a refreshing change.

I loved so much Wilson and House in this episode. They have such fantastic chemistry on screen (and no, I’m not limiting it to platonic man-friend love  ). Aside from Cuddy’s un-professional dressing, what kind of woman who is running a major metropolitan hospital lets House walk all over her? I’m still consciously suspending my disbelief over that.

Robert Seon Leonard is a Tony Award winning stage actor who was under-utilized as Wilson in the beginning. He makes a fine foil for House, putting up with him for who knows what reason. I’d be glad if there were no ducklings, just to watch the House/Wilson/Cuddy interplay.

I’m convinced the “It could be Lupus” line was a shout-out to the fans, who’ve been heard to complain that every diagnosis in every episode, no matter the symptoms, includes the possibility of Lupus (MS is another one), and I loved it! My husband called the mistaken identities fairly early in the show, so the “surprise” ending wasn’t a surprise to me at all, which kind of took away some of the joy for me. But as everyone says, the House/Wilson interplay was hilarious.

The writers have clearly been aware of this for quite a while–one of the Season 2 DVD extras is “It Could Be Lupus”, which consists entirely of various characters saying that. SO funny.

I’m just waiting for the day that it actually IS lupus. They’ll dismiss it offhand, and then be all incredulous when that’s what it turns out to be, because (and I quote) “It’s NEVER lupus!!”

I loved this episode. No ducklings = more Cuddy. I would watch Lisa Edelstein read the dictionary, she’s that hot.

I’ve had a huge actor-crush on Robert Sean Leonard ever since Swing Kids and Dead Poet’s Society, so the large amount of Wilson in this ep was awesome.

I love their banter.

Plus, he did what Wilson did best, inadvertently give House the clue he needed to solve the case. House never needed his team, Wilson inspires the answers nearly every time.

Hopefully we get to see House laysome smack down on some silly new doctors.

It Could Be Lupus

I am in the minority here I guess…it’s not the ducklings that detract from my enjoyment of this show it’s CUDDY!!! I can’t stand the woman!

For me, this season opener was just OK, my favorite parts were the janitor becoming “Dr. Buffer”, and House kidnapping the cancer patient.

I am glad to see Wilson becoming less whiney and going toe to toe with House.

I’m also looking forward to House having other characters to interact with this season. Wouldn’t it be a kick if the “evil” policeman Trotter comes back at some point as a patient or security guard?

NO.

if he ever comes back I will rip out my eyeballs and throw them at the television.

Actually, I don’t like her either. To me she’s just more mature T&A. I agree with someone else’s comment about a real professional would not dress the way she does. The way House always comments on her sweater puppies you’d think she’d wise up and cover them better, unless she likes him looking at them which brings us back to her being unprofessional and a bit of a ditz. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t mind House checking out my sweater puppies but if I wanted him to respect my author-i-tay, I wouldn’t be putting them on display. I also don’t think she’s very professional with patients either.

Before:

“Cameron, Cameron, Cameron!”

After:

“Clinic doctor, clinic doctor, clinic doctor!”

Lopsided, my gluteus maximus.

Will we get to see the sponge bath nurses on the 3rd floor?

Most cases I either see it a mile away (chimera, seekers, druggies) or I don’t care. I was thrown off thinking:

The other guy waiting was the secret boyfriend fetus-father. E.g., House asking “Why are you still here?”

(No, I don’t know why I "spoiler"ed that.)

The piece Wilson showed is the bridge. The whammy bar screws into the bottom of the bridge. Some of the guitar wires were showing, cut off short. And a small rectangular piece of the body. Which looked a little too chip-boardy to me. I don’t know about the Vee but Strats have a hollow underneath/back of the bridge for threading the strings from behind. The broken off bit didn’t seem to account for that. So I assumed it was a fake piece that Wilson got from a guitar repair shop or some such. But, maybe not (within the story).
