I pic $3.79 yesterday the best price I’ve seen in ages. The Wawa across the street was $3.99. My daughter was going to go to Costco, I’m not sure what their price was, but she decided $3.79 was the best deal.
The place down the street from my house just went up to $4.09/gal. Upstate NY.
Where I filled up today it was $3.88. I don’t know why but it’s always a little cheaper towards the middle of the state than near the shore where I live. Here Costco is $3.87 and most stations are at about $4.10.
I drove from suburban Chicago to Cleveland, and back, over the past few days.
At the service plazas along the Indiana Toll Road, regular was at around $4.09. At the plazas along the Ohio Turnpike, and at the gas stations near where I was staying in Cleveland’s eastern suburbs, it was around $3.96.
Back in suburban Chicago, it’s still around $4.49.
Somehow wholesale gas has become decoupled from the US crude index (WTI), as while the latter is only up about 8% over the last week, the former is up a whopping 18%, so TOP OFF ASAP today. In Ohio it looks to go up another 30 cents to $4.19, but I have a cheap place 3 miles from my apt. which was $3.82 (+ 1.00 for my premium; it now looks like pretty much all stations in the entire state are now marking up premium at least a buck more than regular). I can’t use my discount points because by the time I am empty again it may be 50+ cents more and I thus lose on the deal tl;dr.
Oahu, Hawaii. $4.69.9 a few days ago at Costco. Regular stations are in the middle $5.50 range. Many are tied to grocery promotions for X cents off per gallon. We’re using the electric car as much as possible.
Dunno if this is normal or not, but gas prices in California, a state that has refineries, are higher than Hawaii, an island state where most things are normally higher in price due to shipping costs.
April 9:
April 27: $3.45
Yowza! In western PA gas went from $4.19 to $4.35 per gallon today!
There might be a place down the road that has it for a bit cheaper but I only head that way if I am going to medical appointments or to buy furniture.
I do need a bed …
Actually we have a refinery. Used to have two but there was a sale. Until Ukraine kicked off, the crude would come from Russia. Not sure where now. They could have closed both down and just imported refined products; changed their mind because of needed asphalt for paving.
Didn’t know there was one in your state. Thanks for the info, but since I live in California, I’m still quite annoyed by how high gas prices are here.
Things seem to be pretty stable right now around here. It ranges from Costco at the low end $3.89 to around $4.15 at some of the more expensive stations. Most seem to be around $4.05. It’s been that way for a little while.
Rural North Idaho today, $4.49.
Southeast Texas - My local Exxon and Kroger are at $3.49, down from $3.59 two weeks ago.
I was up in Green Bay the past few days. Gas was almost universally at $3.99 for regular, which is about 30c - 35c higher than a month ago.
Experiencing a surge. San Juan today: Reg $4.27/gal (up from $3.93 10 days ago), Premium $4.80, Diesel $5.06.
3.89 North Myrtle Beach/ Little River area
Major surge here in Colorado springs, roughly $0.40 increase per gallon in a week, so say $4.19-4.29 per gallon right now for our “regular” 85 Octane (rant omitted).
Technically, the value of my current tank of gas has increased by over 30%! I topped off at the beginning of the attacks on Iran ($2.89/g) and have been in all-EV mode for the PHEV since, minus a few trips on ICE just to keep everything lubed. But in three weeks, have a 200ish mile round trip which will put a dent in my remaining cheap gas.
£1.919 per litre here in UK, equivalent to $10.27 per gallon in the US, Google tells me. ETA, that’s for diesel.
Major surge here in central Michigan today. Gas has hit $4.99 at several stations close by. Lowest I saw today was $4.19. Regular unleaded.
