mayaonfiya222, you cannot cancel your account or have your threads deleted. You can get yourself banned by breaking a number of board rules, doing so in a malicious manner. Then the board will not let you post. But your membership identity will still remain, and your threads will still remain.
You haven’t paid for anything. You will not be billed for anything. There is no auto deduction from your bank account.
The simplest way to stop posting here, however, is to just stop posting here. Stop opening the Straight Dope in your browser.
If you are getting email notifications, you can turn that off in your account.
At the top of a page is a blue tool bar. Select “User CP” for control panel.
The leftmost column is “Your Control Panel”. Scroll down that column to “Settings and Options” and select “Edit Options”.
Go down to “Default Thread Subscription Mode” and set the dialogue box to “No email notification”.
Scroll to the bottom and select “Save Changes”.
You should no longer receive emails about updates to your threads.
I forgot one other option. If you wish to leave dramatically to demonstrate your protest of your treatment of this board, there is one other thing you can do.
Go start a thread in The Pit. Tell everyone off that you wish to, give us your best, call everyone out for how they treated you, make your big dramatic statement. Then be sure to leave the SD and never return or read that thread. Because after that, people will post whatever they want in response, and that might not go the way you wish. But if you never return, then you get the last word.
Then go to the Snackpit and really show us bastards!
Actually, doing something to get herself banned would accomplish one thing: the mods would no longer allow us to poke fun, on the “no longer here to defend herself” grounds.
I figure when I decide I want to undo my guestship here that the easiest and most permanent way is to just divide by zero. I think ripping and tearing the fabric of Space-Time into itty bitty shreds and thereby destroying all Existance in that manner should effectively take care of my guestship here. And the SDMB too.
And you all might want to consider that as a warning to not piss me off. Capisce?

When I really want someone banned, I decapitate their user profile, put a stake through the heart of the corpse and a clove of garlic in its mouth, and bury it at a crossroads at midnight. But I can’t be doing that for just anybody.
- Left-click on the “User CP” button in the upper left hand corner of the screen.
- Go down one line to the “Your Profile” button and left-click again.
- Write the word “CANCEL” in large letters diagonally across the screen in Magic Marker(black only, please).
- Hit “Enter”

Czarcasm, for a second, there, I thought that you were providing and easy, simple way to cancel an account. I was prepared to feel disappointed, because that would be something of a letdown after all of these comments.
