How do I go to the last post

without having to scroll through all the posts in the thread?

Push the “end” key on your keyboard (CMD - on a Mac), or drag the blue scrollbar thingy all the way to the bottom.

Assuming that it behaves this way with all themes, on the right hand side of the window, there is a thin vertical line between the start and end dates of the thread. Just drag the slightly bulkier thing on the line.

You can also click on the bottom of the scroll bar.

click on the time below the post count on the right of the thread title

If you’re on your phone, click the message number (it’ll be in “#/#” format). That brings up a mini-thread scroll that makes it easier to navigate large threads.

Thanks. The end key took me to the last post in the thread.

This thread can be closed.

Didn’t there used to be a « go to last post » button at the bottom of the OP, along with the icons showing the main posters in a thread?

That would certainly make it easier to get to the last post, if it forever stays the last post…

No. It takes me to the bottom of the page only, and then reloads. If there a thousand posts, and I am on post 220, I need to go all the way to the bottom to see the recent posts.

Andf the clicking control and END is not working either.

Many threads have thousands of old posts and we need to get to the recent posts.

Wait, did none of the previous tips work?

You can also try clicking the post numbers indicator in the lower right and then when that scroll bad comes up. scroll to the very bottom.

Also, there is a slider on the right side of the screen (some device screens, that is). Slide it down to the bottom and then scroll up until you see the red line that marks your last visit.

Okay, maybe I just said the same thing that @Reply said…

Grab this slider with your curser and drag it to the bottom.

Just click on the date at the bottom of the slider (“Apr 20” in the picture Lucas Jackson linked to).

There’s two different scrollbars. One is the usual one from the web browser, that looks like every other scrollbar in your operating system. That one won’t work well. But there’s also another scrollbar inside the window, created by Discourse itself. That one works.
