How do I quote multiple posts in the same post?

And yes, I’ve read the effing manual. Or at least the FAQ’s. But I still can’t figure out how to quote more than one post at a time.

Thank you in advance.

Slow Moving Vehicle.

In the bottom right corner of each post there is a button that has a quotation mark and a plus sign. Click on it and you copy the post to a clipboard. If you respond to a post in the same thread, the system will paste all of the quotations from that thread into the reply box. If you post in another thread, you’ll see a message below the reply box that says you’ve got some quoted posts and asks if you want to include them.

Thank you. I knew that wouldn’t take long.

Hey! Who put that button there? Has it been there all this time? Thanks SMV for asking a great question and fighting ignorance I didn’t even know I had…

(recursion ends here)

So, let’s see how this works:

Here, we have a quote from the last thread I posted in, before this one, which I didn’t want to include, here. I clicked on the lower right button mentioned, on all previous posts in this thread, and what do we get when “pasting”:

Same one…

Same one…

Same one…

OK, so how is this supposed to work, again?

And here, I’ve been opening multiple tabs/windows, and “Cut&Pasting” from each, as needed, and getting marginal results. But there’s an easier way to do it. Please. Do Tell! Because THAT wasn’t it.

The cutting/pasting is done by vBulletin’s end - not at our end. Try it on this thread (without submitting)… Click on the icon with the quote marks and plus sign. It changes colour. Click on another in the same thread. It too changes colour. The first one you clicked is still coloured. When you’re done clicking all the posts you want to quote, click “Post Reply” at the very bottom of the thread. All of the posts you clicked will be quoted in the reply box.

ETA: like I’m some kind of expert here - an hour ago I didn’t even know this feature existed.
