It’s miserable. And so dry - I haven’t had rain in weeks. I’m buying a couple tons of hay for the horses tomorrow - the first time I’ve ever had to buy hay in the summer.
I don’t have central heat and air, and have one window unit, but at least it’s making life bearable. It figures that I’d have taken this week off on vacation.
Now that’s the kind of weather I like. If it’s too warm to wear a jacket, it’s too warm.
We only got up to about 90 today (southern MN) and less humid. It’s supposed to stay this way until next Wednesday when we go back up into the mid 90s, so kinda hot but not as extreme as some places to the south. If it keeps this up, I’m going up north to sit in Lake Superior.
On Monday, it got to 79 F (26 C), which is one of the warmest days this month. Today was nicer, at 73 F (23 C). I’m in Santa Barbara. I really dread having to move.
Alice, that’s just what we do when the wildfire smoke descends on the city and we have to shut down the real swamp cooler! It may work better when you can pull air in from outside, but it does okay for us just pushing around the inside air.
I have a “cool mist” humidifier that works the same way. I got it to relieve some of the misery that sleeping in 5% humidity causes me, but I soon realized that it actually cools the bedroom down a little, even when I have to leave the windows shut at night.
High 80’s and low 90’s for the past couple of days and for the next week at least. I live in Cleveland, OH so the lake moderates the weather a bit. It has been glorious!
North Texas. We just came off a string of 3-digit days, and the meteorologists are all merrily telling us that the highs will “only” be in the high 90s for the rest of the week. Rat bastards. Then again, they earn their paychecks during stormy season.
It’s not very hot here, and it hasn’t really been hot yet - just mostly rainy and cool. Today’s high is forecast to be 23ºC (73ºF). This isn’t a hot place, though - it rarely hits 30ºC, even in the hottest part of the year. I like that.
There’s supposed to be a thunderstorm coming through tonight but the high is still forecast at 100 for tomorrow, so I’m guessing that means it will be just as hot and humid with the bonus that the power will go out, killing the A/C. I hate Pepco.
Currently 109 with 13% humidity in Phoenix. Winds are at about 11mph and feel eerily similar to what I would imagine a 200 ft hair dryer being aimed directly at your face might feel like.
Tomorrow we’re expecting a high of 112.
