Today the forecast was supposed to be 90-something again, but by the lake it hasn’t gone above 84 today and dropped to 70 when the storms passed through around noon. I turned the a/c off for now. I like the windows open!
Hmmm… weather.com and weatherbug both say 105 with a heat index of 133 in my parents area.
I’m thinking someone left a thermometer on top of a stove in the middle of a blowtorch on that one. But they swear it sure does feel like it!

Geez, sitting here in Tel-Aviv, AKA The Middle Eastern Desert; feeling like a whiney softy for complaining abour how hot our measly 86F (30C) is!

It’s about 66 degrees and partly sunny here. Ugh, I just don’t do well in heat. I’m sorry for you folks enduring those atrocious temps and power outages back East, but so glad I live here.

It was 102 F here in Lexington, KY today. Good Grief.
I happened to see a house fire this afternoon. It must have been pure misery for the firefighters in this heat and humidity, not to mention the homeowners of course.
At 3:07 am, it’s still 84F, with 78% relative humidity, which apparently translates to a heat index of 95F. The high today reached 106. Heat index +120. More of the same tomorrow (later today.) This is crazy, even for south Georgia.
I sent my husband to work with 1.5 gallons of water for himself, and another gallon for the dog. He had to stop for Gatorade an hour ago, and refilled the mutt’s jug at the store…
We went to the Alameda County Fair today. It maxed out at about 77 F, coolest it has been when we went for 15 years. A bit warmer tomorrow, but not bad.
