How hot is it where you are?

I know all you folks sweltering in the rest of the country are sick to death of hearing from Seattle, so I’m going to add to it.

At 9:15 AM it’s 51°F on our north patio, and the furnace is running. And mixed in is a little drizzle.

13C (about 55F?) here in rainy Scotland, 2nd July and I’m so cold I’m thinking about putting the heating on. Brrr :frowning:

It was 82 when I went out running at 5 this morning but rain has started coming in so maybe it will cool off? Hopefully. It’s been brutal. Our plant life is out of control because we couldn’t get out in the heat and finish all the yard work before it got too hot.

Hi neighbor!

Hi!

It finally rained last night. A wonderful summer thunderstorm that brought blessed relief to the valley. Temperature is now 79F (26C) at 1230 EDT. Looks like I’ll be in the garden this afternoon.

You run your furnace when it’s 51°? Holy crap, our gas bill would double. BTW, I don’t mind hearing from you Seattle folks (or the Scottish contingent either); it makes me feel cooler just to know such places still exist.

Minnesota checking in here, and it’s 99° F. with a dewpoint somewhere in the 70s. Again. It’s going to stay this way until Thursday, when we’ll plummet into the high 80s. I had to put up supplemental shade for the chickens.

51 and rainy gets into your bones, so yep, you run the furnace to take the chill off. you don’t have to run it constantly; it is ness. to warm up chilled bones.

It’s sunny, clear and chilly this morning: 9.3C at the moment.

New York State seems to have dodged those storms, it’s still going to be hot, sunny, near 90 degrees F. for the foreseeable future, for thems that likes it. The lawns have all gone brown and dormant (we don’t care about watering) which is a good thing, putting off people’s heart attacks while mowing just that much longer.

So 90 degrees Farenheit works out to be 30 degrees Celsius? I was once told in order to translate C. into F., to double the C. figure and add 30.

That’s an approximate formula. It’s close enough in most cases to give an idea of the Fahrenheit temperature, but it’s accurate only for 10C/50F.

The actual conversion formula is F=(1.8xC)+32

Thus 30C is 86F, and 90F is approximately 32.2C

You guys have computers, right? You know that typing in “90 F” in Google will bring up the conversion without you doing anything else?

103.8 F…at noon…39.8888889 degrees Celsius

FUCK …it’s hot!

NE Indiana, right now it’s “only” 99. Predicted high of 101, which would be four straight days of 100+ degrees. The newspaper was saying that’s never happened here before.

Living within a few miles of the Pacific Ocean in SoCal, the temperature rarely swings much. It’s headed into summer time now, with the forecast temperatures running from 75 to 80 in my area. Everything works fine until a pesky High moves in and reverses the onshore flow to an offshore flow. Then it gets a tad warm.

12:20 PM …105.1 F…ten days of +100 F.

ouch

It’s only going to be about 110 today, maybe 112 or so through next week. And right now I’m glad I’m not in Virginia anymore, 'cause that sounds a lot better to me than 100+ all the humidity there, not even mentioning the blackouts!

Morgenstern, I’ll send you some heat love from Imperial Valley anytime you want!

We finally turned the AC off at about 3:00 this morning. I still slept with just a sheet covering me under 2 fans, but it was bliss to be able to hear the birds again. ATM it is “only” 85 here in MN.

102 F (39 C) here in Columbus, OH. Woooo-ee.

I don’t get it, do horses not eat hay in the summer?
