Today in Toronto there was ice falling from the sky.
My area is still getting dug out of 2 ft of snow that we received on Saturday. The blizzard drifted and blew snow like crazy. The area schools were closed on Monday and today. Side streets are still unplowed. There is nowhere to put snow if we get more, which we will. Snowbanks along the roadsides are at least 5’ tall. To let you know how bad the blizzard was - WalMart was closed on Sunday!!!
80 degrees in Honolulu at 5:20pm. Looks like we’re in for another frigid night in the 70s. But Mauna Kea on the Big Island may get six inches of snow.
It’s going to be 65 degrees and cloudy today in Memphis. Tonight the temp will drop over 30 degrees and it is supposed to snow. Those conditions seem to be the best chance for wintry precipitation around here. Temps will be in the low 30s tomorrow so if we do get snow/ice, it will stick around for a day or so.
Drizzly, gray and dreary here in Cleveland - 46F.
We’re having a break in a week-long rain. Might be further breaks through this week.
Highs fifties to sixty.
Absolutely perfect this past week. Nice and warm without being too hot or humid.
High of 77 today in Fort Myers. 73 right now. But feels like 73. It will get down to 72 tonight but tomorrow night it gets down to 55. So I’ll be able to leave the windows open all night.
Finally got seasonal weather. Light snow overnight, and it’s currently 20 below C, with a light wind taking it lower.
Last week it got as low as 54°F in Nowhere City, our nearest NOAA weather station, and it felt colder than that here. One day I wore two pairs of socks, two shirts and a jacket. But it’s warm again today.
Since you ask… the weather here has been right from heaven. Coolish (40s) at night and all the way up to high 70s, even reaching 80, during the day. Bright blue skies, moderate breezes, perfect humidity. It’s insanely beautiful, like in the first Technicolor movies or something. (This is south Texas, down in the pointy part. Can’t speak for the rest of the state.)
Over the past 6 weeks or so: like a sine wave. Southeast US. When it’s “high” it’ wonderful…sublime: Crisp, wonderfully cool ( 50’s …good working outdoor weather ) fall days with the bluest of skies. When it’s “low”, rainy damp cold & dreary.
Same pattern. Two, or at the most 3, sunny or partly cloudy days, then a massive blob of greenish yellow on radar, as big as 5 states put together, moves slowly over us from the southwest toward the northeast and keeps us under a soggy pall for 2 or 3 days. On and on the pattern goes, with no exceptions noted. Because of the abundant rain and the shorter hours of sunlight, the ground is soft and squishy and nearly saturated always…and has been for near 2 months.
I should have overseeded my lawn this October, as I sometimes do: that usually kicks off a period of unprecedented drought-ish conditions.
It rained all night last night. We even had thunder. Tim, who bikes to work usually, rode in my car. Some puddles, some water bubbling up from the manhole covers. It has been gray and breezy all day with spitting rain. I understand the storm will continue tonight.
In Saudi Arabia, this is called “good weather.”
DC metro area. Bethesda, MD specifically. Big fat snow flakes when I drove in this morning, but now it’s mostly switched over to just rain.
Thunderstorm predicted for late tonight. Had a mild one one night last week.
December’s just a state of mind.
…for when you have nothing left to lose…
Sorry, that just popped into my head.
Cold and dark, with alien lights the color of tarnish spasming across the sky. The sun has died and darkness reigns eternal. Or at least until February next year. If we are lucky we may have a sunrise in January.
All in all, above par.
Yesterday was the hottest day on record in Australia, average highs were 40.9
Looking at 40, 41, 42 the three days where I am. And then we have January, which this year was the hottest month ever. Triffic.
It was 77 F when I woke up 3 hours ago. Now it’s 68. When I get off work, it will be 61 and tonight it will be 52. It’s so weird for a cold front to roll in during the day.
Been windy these past couple of days, a little drizzly. Still shorts weather though. Almost a quarter after 10pm now, and 76 degrees, with the winds died down. A nice night for strolling.
