How many Central Pennsylvanians do we have on this board?

Great googly moogly! There are all kinds of dopers coming out of the woodwork who are within a 30 minute drive! All this time I thought I was the sole flag bearer for York/Adams counties.

I’m surprised too… I’ll really be shocked if there’s anyone else here from Franklin county…

I’ll second Gettysburg for a meeting point. Jayjay, if I’d known you lived in Altoona while you still lived there, I suspect we’d have met before this.

As for when, the 3rd or 4th weekend in April would be good for me. The first two, I’ll be in full religious mode.

CJ

In Wormleysburg now, from Harrisburg, from Elizabethtown, from Palmyra, from Hershey, from Steelton, from Western New York.

I’m another one from Williamsport. Born and raised here.

I didn’t know there were this many 'dopers in the area.

That he does, but I’m trying to convince him to change it to California…

Holy crap. There are Dopers in Williamsport! Wow. Just… wow. That’s so cool.

Gettysburg is about two hours west for me. I’d be interested.

Also, in the spring & summer, HersheyPark is also an option! Mmmm, roller coasters and chocolate…

I was born and raised in Zion (which is 18 miles outside of State College) but I hardly post. I’d definitely be interested in meeting up with anyone in the state.

Yes, south-central PA here. But between Maureen’s persuasive abilities (which are considerable) and California being green already in mid february, I am definitely fading fast…

It’s not that shocking, is it? I hope not!

C’mon, if6was9, how could you consider leaving Waynesboro? Wouldn’t you miss the smell of fresh fertilizer in the morning, the potholes, the unending humidity, and did I mention the potholes?

I hereby advertise my Harrisburg location (as MsRobyn stands here making sure I post this - you know where I live, anyway)

I live in Berks County, PA. That might be central enough.

Born and raised in the Reading area (which I suppose is more southeastern PA than central) and studied at University Park, but now much, much further east.

Whereabouts you at, Volta?

raises hand

Harrisburg here.

asterion: I graduated from JC last year, so i probably coulda told ya
It usually melts around march, usually you don’t see snow once april rolls around unless it’s a really cold year.
Are you a freshman? Otherwise i might know you, or you might know me (isn’t that a frightening thought).

I think i count as a central PA-er. I grew up in Reading (which i consider Eastern PA technically, since it’s pretty close to philly) but i went to Juniata in Huntingdon for 4 years, which makes me qualified, i guess.
I’m in Rochester NY now, but depending on the date of the dopefest i might be able to come down and make a weekend out of it, since i’ve been meaning to stop by Juniata and say hi to a bunch of people i haven’t seen in about a year anyway.

I will be in the State College area at the end of May.

SOMEONE, be decisive and set something up!

Or I will…

I just moved to the Central PA area last year. I lived in Bellefonte for a year, and now live in State College. (I will hopefully be leaving this summer, though.)

As for the snow thing, I moved here from the most god-forsaken snow-covered state (ND), and I’m shocked at how much snow they get here! And the rain! After I waded my way to class last week, I told my students I’d start work on the ark, if they’d go and collect two of each animal.

I too am shocked at the number of dopers in Central PA!

No need. I’m trying to get one started.
