How many eggs do you eat for breakfast?

I don’t do a lot of eggs–eat 'em a couple of times a month. If I fry them, it’s an egg per person. If I scramble them, it’s about an egg and a half per person. We’re small folk in my household, and one egg–with toast and/or hashbrowns and/or buttermilk biscuits, and fruit, and maybe some bacon or sausage–is a perfectly fine meal.

Boy, I just realized why so many responses mentioned “man eggs”.

Egg on my face, I suppose.

Man eggs are a completely different story. I love them but I don’t actually eat them. That might hurt him.

Chicken eggs though, I said only one because if I have two eggs I will take off for the moon periodically for the rest of the day, and when the exhaust hits you best be on your way out of here.

Title fixed (man → many)

I rarely have eggs for breakfast unless I’m on vacation, and eating in a restaurant. But when I do, it’s usually 2, over easy, with toast.

Since I usually construct an egg wrap or sandwich, I intentionally break my yolks.

I also flip my egg without using a spatula, something my gf has tried but never accomplished.

Thank you!

When I was young I ate 4 dozen eggs every morning, to help me get large.

Now that I’m grown I eat 5 dozen eggs, so I’m roughly the size of a barge.

(3. It’s actually 3.)

When I was young I would crack a dozen eggs into a blender, mix it all up, chug it all down, and then run through the streets of Philadelphia and then up the steps in front of the Art Museum.

On average, I eat fewer than 2 eggs a week, even though I like them fine. At a restaurant for breakfast, 2 with bacon or sausage or ham, some kind of fried potato, and toast, preferably but rarely, rye. Or an omelette, which is usually a 3-egg deal. Sometimes at home, scrambled with toast on the side, and about 2 eggs’ worth.
My partner, on the other hand, eats eggs regularly.

When I was young, I followed TriPolar’s regime, above, except I would “then throw up on the steps in front of the Art Museum.”

In college one of my roommates one year was on the rowing team. In a place with cool gray mornings and cold water. He wasn’t huge, but he was real strong and real lean. As in no natural insulation.

A dozen eggs and a whole box of cereal with a quart of milk was a pretty typical breakfast for him upon return from the pre-dawn workout. I’m not exaggerating.

I was always big eater for my small size, but 4 eggs was about all I could ever handle at a sitting, even in my prime.

I don’t find eggs filling, but considering how low calorie eggs are - 4 boiled eggs is only about 300 calories - I’m surprised by how many people can’t eat very many. 6 eggs don’t even fill me up. I have a big appetite, and I’m a pretty big guy, but I’m no athlete, and no giant.

Either two eggs sunny side up or a three-egg omelet.

I don’t eat just eggs. I usually eat eggs with buttered toast, and sometimes with a side of bacon or something.

Speaking of which, I sometimes make two soft-boiled eggs on buttered toast for lunch when I’m working from home. In addition to the eggs, butter, and toast, I’ll usually have a piece of fruit or something to go with that.

If I’m making a breakfast sandwich, one.

If I’m having the eggs on a plate with other stuff, two, usually scrambled, but scrambled in the pan so there’s still distinctive white and yellow pieces. I hate that pale yellow lump they bring you at diners.

Almost never have eggs for breakfast.

“Cletus, how many eggs did you have for breakfast?”

“I et six aigs for breakfast, ma’am.”

“You mean, ‘ate,’ don’t you?”

“Might’ve been eight I et, ma’am”

A conventional breakfast for me (which I don’t have often) is two eggs, bacon, a few slices of tomato, and toast. I’m not quite sure what to call the style of eggs that I like – it’s basically sunny side up, but I cover the pan to let the yolks cook a bit more but still remain runny.

For sandwiches, a bacon and egg sandwich is always just one egg. No flipping – I find that ruins the texture. I just deliberately break the yolk and cover the pan for about five minutes.

For hardboiled eggs, I usually boil four at a time and consume two at a time. Often adorned with mayo, Dijon mustard, and paprika, aka “lazy deviled eggs”.

Scrambled eggs or omelettes are the only time when I might use up to three eggs, but I rarely have those.

Upthread I mentioned having a single poached egg for breakfast. I did not mention that also goes with a slice of toast with a 1/2"+ thick layer of PB, a large bowl of full fat plain yogurt or cottage cheese, and a smallish bowl of fruit. I certainly could put a second egg in there but these days I find I’m happier being less than stuffed departing the table.

Which is certainly a change from even 10 years ago when folks would marvel at how much food easily fit into a such a small scrawny guy. Perhaps you haven’t quite hit your personal knee in the age/appetite curve. Yet.

My daily breakfast is half a grapefruit, coffee, and 2 scrambled eggs.

I often have Egg Bites from Costco, not sure how many eggs are in there. I have an Egg Bite making machine also.
If not them, one scrambled on an English muffin or chibata roll with one slice of bacon and cheese.
Every so often two sunny side up eggs, but that is usually too much of a pain.
