How many States (provinces/regions etc) have you lived in?

Just realized I left out:
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, VI
Guatemala City, Guatemala

I got two humanitarian service awards for those.

I’m a little envious of those with long lists, though I know I’d hate all that moving. I have only 3.

That is where (as I think I may have already mentioned in another thread) my screen name derives.

New York
Virginia
Alaska

.

I only have two. North Carolina and California. I more or less lived the first half of my life in NC and the second half in CA.

Oh, and Washington, D.C. and Virginia for two Congressional internships.

No, I did not see the total eclipse. I don’t recall the circumstances that made me miss seeing it. Most likely, it was cloudy.

My dad was an industrial pipe fitter and the union sent him all over the country. So the states I remember.

Born in CA but don’t remember.
WV
AZ
AR multiple
TX multiple
IL
TN
OK

I’ve lived in two Canadian provinces, currently and mostly in Ontario. But due to lots of travel involved in a previous job, I’ve visited all Canadian provinces many times with just one exception (sorry, Newfoundland!) plus one northern territory and probably about 20 US states.

If one pushes the definition of “lived in”, years ago I got to experience Manhattan living when I stayed in my brother’s condo for about a month while they were in Europe. The cool part was that this was actually for work, so all my expenses were covered. It’s amazing how much takeout there is in midtown Manhattan!

Saskatchewan, mainly.
Worked for one year in Ontario.

Moved around a lot during university days:
Nova Scotia
Ontario
Quebec
Connecticut

Ohio
Indiana
Missouri
Alabama

Have visited all 50 but these are the only ones I have had permanent residence in.

I’ve missed Canada’s smallest (Prince Edward Island) and largest (Nunavut). Maybe someday.

I used to think about doing this. I’ve been in 27 of them plus DC where I was born. At some point I stopped liking to travel so gave up on the notion of visiting all of them.

Just three: Texas, Virginia and New York.

I did spend brief stays of one month or several months in Indiana, California and Oklahoma, but those were too short to count.

Six in the US, three in Mexico. (Quite similar to the OP).

I live about 20 miles from the house I grew up in. Mom lived in that house from before I was born until she recently died. So far I have always been tied to that place. I decided to live in a more rural area but I worked in the town I grew up in. I’m retired but I still work there part time. My wife does want to move so I may be making a break from that place altogether.

I’ve visited about 30 of the 50 for various definitions of ‘visited’. I still kinda want to see all 50, but I’m not sure what would get me to South Dakota.

Mount Rushmore, the Crazy Horse memorial, Deadwood, the Minuteman Missile National Historic Site?

Two.

Born and raised in Southern California (Greater L.A., San Diego, northern L.A. County, and Los Angeles proper) and northwestern Washington – with a bit less than a year in Japan when I was little.

Just one: New York

Just two, my home state of MA and Illinois.

I’ve only lived in four states that would qualify as residences:

New Jersey
Massachusetts
New York
Utah
