How muggy is it in the MMP?

Morning all. Rain finally stopped yesterday and this bright ball o’light came out and started drying stuff out.

Trying to clean out my refrigerator prior to the Great Baltic Vacation that begins Moanday afternoon. down to three Pepsi’s and a 1/4 loaf of bread. Still need to clean the kitchen and do laundry (tomorrow morning) and then pack for nearly 3 weeks on the road. I’ve gotten better at it as I age, I used to pack several bags for more than a week, now one suitcase and a carry-on will be more than enough.

All y’all take care now.

I closed the kitchen window and I’m getting ready to close the living room windows. There’s a nice breeze out there though, I kind of hate to do it.

I think I won’t make it to the store. I still need to log into irk today and I have other stuff to do. First, I need some lunch. Then I need to find and pick up all the cat toys so I can vacuum. Maybe I’ll order something for lunch, I just cleaned the kitchen and I hate to mess it up.

I stayed up almost all night watching movies so have just awoke. I do forsee some cooking today and the usual laundry/housework. Or not.

Bubba did not end up coming home yet. I’m still waiting on the latest X-ray results. :frowning:

Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated, I made N.O.L. (blt’s and oven fries). we went to see JDD’s ‘rents as we’ve decided to try for at least a once a week a visit because they are startin’ to go downhill, and then we went to DQ for 'nanner splits. All in all not a bad day. Now chillage ensues.

{{{Sticks and Bubba}}} What do they think is happening with Bubba?

Moommm Higgs seems pretty smart to me. She came right back to the door and barked 'til you let her in. Good dog!

Let’s see - last night, went to bed around 1. 1:30 the Bear “Woofs” in his basso, imperious way to be let out. I grump, but I let him out. 2 am, he does it again. I tell him, “I just let you out - go to sleep.” Usually, if he really needs to go, he’ll “Woof” again, but he just shuffled off. An hour later, same thing. Then again. I really should have clued in and let him out, but I did not. Then at 6am, 'Beamer starts popping in and out of my room with the new pup, who shall be called “Pixel”. I finally just got up. I go into the bathroom to begin the day and find that the dog has gotten sick all over the floor and in the master closet (just missed hubby’s shoes). I started the day by scrubbing dog crap off the tiles and carpet. :frowning:

Buttons and her mom just left. Buttons had a good visit - she ran around the yard several times, sniffed Higgs’ butt and Taz’ butt, snoozed on the floor, and generally didn’t act at all like she’s dying of cancer. Probably helps that she has no idea. Friend’s sis is taking her to a vet oncologist tomorrow to see if they can buy her more time. It’s so hard for them knowing it’s inevitable. :frowning:

Higgs and Taz are happy to have their house back again. **FCD **is watching TV. Since we had a late-ish lunch, we won’t be having supper. All in all, not a bad way to end the week.

I completed the Herculean task of draggin’ the biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig trash can all the way down to the road for trash pick up tomorrow. I et a peanut butter sammich and had a glass of milk. All is well.

MOOOOOOM forgot to answer earlier, but, IMO, salt and pepper is all a brisket needs as brisket already has a good flavor. People use rubs, sauces etc but I say that’s just gildin’ the lily, or brisket, as it were. The only time I’ve “spiced up” a brisket is by addin’ the cornin’ spices to make corned beef.

They’ve had my Bubba at the emergency vet for three nights. He got a little better and now has gotten worse. They’ve been treating him for pancreatitis. They also suspected something with his heart because he has a pretty significant heart murmur so they did X-rays. They found a possible issue with his stomach but subsequent X-rays were inconclusive. They suggested an ultrasound next but I have declined. Most anything they would find would require surgery for treatment and due to his heart condition, he wouldn’t likely survive. So, they’re keeping him tonight and continuing fluids and meds until tomorrow evening. We hope that he improves, otherwise we’ll have to say goodbye. :slightly_frowning_face:

I changed the sheets and did laundry, cleaned the bathroom and kitchen, changed out the litter and vacuumed, and paid a metric boatload of bills. I can’t get this much stuff done at work.:dubious: Making Italian herbed poke chops with baked **N.O.T.**s, and a salad. Drinking a Summer Wheat

Moooom, Higgs is smart enough to find her [del]food bowl[/del] way home.

Bon voyage metal mouse!

The mojo poke rocked. It’s even better than the Pubic Sto’s. I’m fixing to do KP clean up, then play in the studio.

Prayers ascending for Bubba & Sticky

Thinned the neighbors tree somewhat prior to helping him take it down. Its gotten too tall and is beating the crap pit of the side of our porch. Plus going by the scat, the raccoons have been using it for access to our roof. Inner-city raccoons ------- NOT a good thing.

Bubba and Stiky-hugs to you both.

Cooked ribs, peas and corn and whomp biscuits. Was just meh. Will get us by till the next one.

I am so lazy. I did manage a few loads of laundry and hubs gave the Sunday bath to Louie. He has been in his office all day making up invoices for work long ago done. I also changed the sheets and showered so there’s that. No more allnighters for me. In fact I am going to take a sleeping pill and hope to be asleep as soon as it’s dark. Which here is 9 ish.

Today has been busy.
Lots of cleaning because of the plumber coming tomorrow.
I don’t know why I get so anal, it’s not like he is going to see the inside of the fridge, look in the oven, or go through my cabinets.
He’s not going to see the nicely arranged canned goods with all the labels facing forward.
He (or she) probably won’t notice a thing other then the pipes -which probably need to be dusted, but too bad because I’m not going into the basement to dust them.
My friend’s aunt used to dust her pipes, furnace, and duct work because heaven forbid the meter reader (remember those) should see a speck of dust in her home.

Sah-son dusted my Amish cabinet for me, and I think I am going to throw the furniture polish out. It smells nasty. He thinks there is no difference but I can see how much better it looks. Smells bad, but it looks pretty. I wonder if furniture polish goes bad?

{{{Sticky}}}

In my experience some polishes can develop a sort of funk over years. It is one of the reasons I usually go more the wax route. With unscented waxes I’ve used some stuff lately I found over Dad’s that possibly predates me and its still perfectly fine.

Keeping my fingers crossed for Bubba. Good dog! I’ll pray for his health and happiness.

Just now I have a mulberry pie in the oven. Earlier this afternoon I made mulberry ice cream. I’ve had a bowl of that, very tasty but I’ll have to give my teeth a serious flossing.

I think I’ll throw it out then.
I usually just dust it but it was looking a little drab.

If I don’t see you before you leave, have a fun safe trip MetalMouse

We avoid dusting or polishing ---- which could be why I have good data on how aged products behave. Our house rule is if a guest writes in the dust, they have to clean the whole piece of furniture.
