Oh sorry, location: southern MA.
Not part of the storm area, but we did have hail in Southern California to-day.
Cold and raining in San Diego, waiting at the airport to get back to Denver. I personally can’t wait to get back to the snow, it means skiing and snowboarding, not everyone hates snow!
Canberra, Australia - Hot 36C (97F) with possible thunderstorms this afternoon.
I am now fairly deep in the woods in Great Capacon, WV and it is still wet from before but no active precipitation currently. Drove through some light snow on the way here this afternoon from DC.
^That was just after 3pm local time.
Now at 10:20pm it’s dark and 78ºF with hardly any wind and hardly any moonlight with just a day or so before new moon. Will leave the windows and patio doors open tonight.
The only white stuff I want to shovel is sand.
Warm and sunny, and now cold and stormy.
Polo and shorts in the sun in the AM, sweatpants and thermal shirt tonight.
PEI, Canada… Been snowing since 3am, there is a blizzard warning on and thats basically whats outside my door. 300m visibility, 80kph wind, -10C, and snowing rather heavily. Supposed to continue all day and most of the night, and im sure tomorrow will bring some good onshore squalls after the low passes and we get the flow off the Gulf of St.lawrence. Gross weekend, hope the power stays on but the generator is ready to go if needed…
San Antonio, TX.
It’ll be 75-degrees and sunny. Cut the grass yesterday, we’re going to open up the pool soon.
It was sadistic to start, but much more masochistic to open this thread.
Wisconsin; SO sick of shoveling!
(Long, skinny driveway bordered by a house and a tall fence, so nowhere to put the snow. Have to pile it onto a sled and drag it down to the curb.)
80 degrees, sunny, and no humidity. The kind of weather that makes you want to get out and do stuff. It’s night now so I’m watching the storm on weather cams.
It’s a fine day here in Southwest Florida. Here’s a link to a live beach cam on Captiva Island. http://www.muckyduck.com/beach-cam2.php
I’ve never lived in a snowy climate and I would be terrified to try and drive in that weather. Thankfully, the only snow I have to contend with here are the “snowbirds.”
Sending warm thoughts to all who are experiencing the Big Chill, stay warm!
It’s sunny and -12C in Oshawa! And outside, the snow is brilliant. Eventually I will have to go outside into the dazzle.
Alderaan local space
Asteroids are kinda thick today

Lost power last night just before 8:00PM. Came back on this afternoon. I drained the baseboards so they wouldn’t freeze but water is not circulating so I’m heating the house back up slowly with other means. I may not be able to get heat back until Monday when it’s supposed to warm up outside. It’s about 55F in here now, so not terribly bad. There must be others in much worse shape.
60 and sunny on the SF Peninsula.
Update: A fire in the fireplace brought the temperature to 60F and appears to have thawed the pipes. Water is circulating now, and the house is getting warmer.
HOT in Bangkok. SO hot. Hot, hot, hot. The hot season started a bit early this year – it’s usually not until at least mid-February – after what’s laughingly called the cool season. We ran the air-con last night, because we got a small, unseasonal shower, which didn’t make it any less hot, just more humid.
Did I mention it’s toasty warm?
EDIT: We were wondering if the Naked Cowboy soldiers on in Times Square during these storms.
Siam Sam, not jealous at all. Seriously, as long as it’s snowy it means it’s not too hot. We ended up with about a foot here; it stopped earlier than predicted.
